Bad hotel bad rental car company
Sovtek Dec 6, 2009
We were in the dc area looking for places to live. Our flights were delayed so we arrived weary at 2:00 am. The night manager ... took 15 minutes to check us in. We booked a room with a king size bed and ended up with a room with two full beds and a gigantic conference room connected to it. This forced my wife and I to sleep in separate beds. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. Since were connected to a conference room it was hard to regulate the temperature of the room. On the second night it got so cold in the room, the ac panel started ringing an alarm that woke us at 5 am which caused maintenance to come and fix it. This place was very disorganized.[...] there is a 20 dollar a day parking fee even though we booked the whole package with a rental car. 4 x 20 = 80 extra dollars. The only positive thing about the hotel was the breakfast buffet. Well worth 15 dollars.

This was an awesome hotel to stay at. I got a great rate and I got an excellent room on the club level with a view of D.C. ... From my window I could see The Capitol, The Washington monument and the Lincoln memorial. This was an amazing experience. Free Wi-Fi applies only in the Potomac Restaurant area, you have to buy the access in your room. The only bad experience I had was with the Burger delivered by the room service. I spent all night long hunched over a toilet having a food poisoning.

IT Traveler Nov 16, 2009
This hotel overall has a fresh decor and rooms are nicely done and of decent size and amenity. The ancillary services this ... hotel provides however is less than stellar. The shuttle does not reliably come to pick up passengers at the metro and airport on schedule (even when called for). Club level breakfast and dining room service was shut down on several occaisions just because they didn't feel like they had enough guests. Wi-Fi was not free and was quite expensive at $12 a day.

Lost in DC
Marybel Oct 12, 2009
We went to DC for a short touristic trip. The staff was uninformed as to how a tourist can get around. No brochures were ... available and guest service was always closed. There was a strange person sitting on a chair in the hallway leading to our room. It looked like someone who got kicked out of her room. She had all her belongings including clothes and electronic equipment with her and was constantly on her cell phone two days in a row. When I contacted the front desk about it I was told she was "probably" security for the floor. I felt extremely unsafe with that person outside my room. I was also dissatisfied with the food at the restaurant. I paid $42 for breakfast for 2 and the food was terrible. The rooms were comfortable and clean and my favorite part of the hotel.

We came to the area to attend a burial at Arlington National Cemetery, because of its proximity to the cemetery we stayed at ... the Sheraton National. We were extremely pleased with our choice. The staff could not have been more helpful and professional. It's very obvious that customer service comes first in this hotel. In a time when customer service has gone by the way side - "KUDOS" to Sheraton National!!! You were responsible for making a somewhat sad trip very comfortable and pleasant for us. Thank you so much and we would definitely stay at Sheraton National if we return to the D.C. area.

Traveler from Tacoma Jun 19, 2009
Great complimentary shuttle service to the metro. The choice of restaraunts in the immediate area were very limited so ... having a refrigerator in the room would have been nice. Unfortunately we did rent a car before we knew that the surrounding location was not car friendly and that public transportation was the way to go. We had to pay $18.00 a night for a car that sat in a parking garage of a hotel we were already paying to stay there.

My grandaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed out stay at your hotel. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We took the ... evening tour of DC, I realize the time but could use a little more time at the stops, I don't walk as quickly as I used to and missed seeing some of the things in order to get to the bus on time. The only thing I couldn't find was "Thunder Alley" where the concessionaires for Rolling thunder were located.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The location was excellent, the breakfast was delicious, inexpensive, a good variety of ... foods,& the service was very good. Our room was cleaned daily, the staff was friendly, professional, & kept our room stocked with needed items. The hotel did not have an available brochure for the public, & I wanted to send one to a relative; also I noticed that a clock was not down stairs in the lobby or close to the front desk. Several times I had to check my telephone for the time. The transportation staff was friendly, and timely. Last night (5/27/09), we called the front desk for security, because of the loud noise from 12:00 (midnight) until (3:00am). I reported it to the front desk this morning. I enjoyed my stay & I plan to return.

This was my first time in the DC area and I chose a great hotel. It had a view of the Pentagon, Arlington National Cematary ... as well as the Washington monument and the Nations Capital. The hotel shuttle was great in taking you back and forth to the mall and airport. Make sure you get a room high up on the "even" number side for a wonderful view. I would love to stay there again.

We were here for six nights. We ran into some issues. We switched rooms the first night. We ran into some more issues, you ... know, many little things that just add up to make it an annoying stay. But upon check out, we mentioned we weren't entirely satisfied, they made it right, so to speak. I can't say enough about the staff. Especially the shuttle drivers. A great group of guys. If you're looking to stay close to DC, the city is very accessible from this hotel. Shuttles top and bottom of every hour will get you to the Metro in less than 10 minutes.

The National Sheraton, Arlington, Virginia. There was no refrigerator. The tv remote was excepitionally slow. ... The air conditioner did not work properly. You had to pay a daily rate to park at the hotel. I would look for better arangements for future trips. I do have to say they were redecorating the interior that could explain what was lacking in the hotel, but the parking fee I feel was a rip off.

Even though this hotel is way out... but it provides a good shuttle service to the Pentagon City Station, so you don't even ... have to drive. The service is very regular, so you don't have to worry. The hotel parking is quite expensive, given this location ($16). The hotel is excellent. You can be trapped in the hotel and not go out, you can still find things to do, like the swimming pool (not large but good enough), and the dining area. Overall, it's very family friendly, and I will stay here again.
