Great Place for Family Stay

Justjill Nov 2, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We enjoyed the pool, walked on the beach which was easily accessed by the hotel. We enjoyed a so-so continental breakfast ... outside on a nice morning. We shopped in nearby beach cities. I would recommend this spot to a family as the prices were not so bad, however the beds could be a bit more comfy. I loved the rooms decor and how I had a coastal view!!! Very beautiful spot!

We stayed at the Sea Crest years ago and were surprised to see the upgrades in the room and throughout the hotel. We will definitely stay there on our next trip to the Jazz Festival.

Clam Chowder anyone? Yummy!!!!

Luxury4Less Sep 16, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The Seacrest is probably one of the best hotel to stay in while in Pismo Beach. The rooms have been newly renovated and is ... very clean. Check out their website for pictures of the rooms and it is exactly what you get when you get there. It has a normal size heated pool and 3 hottubs. It also has plenty of chairs and tables for outdoor dining next to the pool (very convenient for family with children). The staff is friendly, and they have complimentary Seattle's Best coffee available to guest in the lobby 24/7. They also have complimentary breakfast every morning. We stayed in the Ocean View King room. The view of the ocean is at an angle. You cannot see the ocean while laying on your bed due to the balcony. You have to step out of your room in order to catch a view of the ocean. However, you can sleep with the sliding door opened a crack and hear the waves while you sleep. It's a pretty awesome experience. The hotel does provide direct access to the beach below the hotel. It's literally 60 something steps of stairs down to the beach from the hotel. The hotel is located 3 minutes drive to Pomeroy Ave. which is the main street that leads to the Pismo Pier. This street is lined with great restaurants and small beach shops. It is home to the acclaimed Splash Cafe which claims that they have the best clam chowder in all of Pismo. It's pretty good clam chowder indeed (We ate there twice during our weekend stay). The line is always long at the Splash Cafe, but trust me the service is fast and you will not wait longer than 20-30 minutes from the back of the line to the cashier. The hotel is great, but it is not worth the $200 plus per night on the weekends that they charge. I would not pay over $165 per night at this hotel. Parking is fairly convenient at Pismo Beach. They have machines everywhere that takes credit card for parking fees at the beach. Parking is $1 per hour, and parking is free everywhere after 6pm. There is also some free parking available further from the busier areas of Pismo Beach. Pismo is a nice little beach community and I would recommend it to everyone for a quick weekend getaway!! Hope this review helps out alot of people. Thanks everyone!!!

Lots of great little restaurants on Pomeroy Ave. this is the street that leads directly to the Pismo Pier. Try Splash Cafe for some clam chowder for lunch. It's good and affordable. Their sandwiches are huge and affordable as well.

fantastic family getaway

Would recommend to a friend!

We have stayed at this hotel about 6 times prior to this stay and we have never been disappointed. It is always a peaceful ... relaxing stay with friendly service nice clean rooms that are very spacious for the small price they charge. When we arrived at the hotel on our most recent trip it had been remodeled, so it looked quite a bit different. I was impressed with all the upgrades they had done, not only to the rooms but the lobby and surrounding areas outside. The hotel and rooms were very nice before the upgrade so we felt like we were in the lap of luxury. The one thing I did enjoy that wasn't available before the remodel was a complimentary breakfast. They added a room were they now serve breakfast and when you have a large family to feed saving on going out to breakfast can save you half the price of your room.

We had a great experience at this hotel on Labor Day weekend 2009. The staff was friendly, rooms clean, pool heated and ... location perfect. Great place to stay!

Central Coast fan Jul 13, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We stayed here because we were in my sister's wedding. She got married at and stayed at a different hotel- she paid a whole ... lot more and got less. The rooms are luxuriously appointed- I felt like it was a much pricier hotel. From the flat screen television to the Keurig coffee makers with Emeril coffee, the room was fabulous. Breakfast consisted of danish, bagels, muffins, and cereal, and of course, coffee. You poured the coffee into to go cups, saving a busy family a trip to Starbucks for the morning joe. Easy beach access, a gorgeous pool, and a fabulous view make this a place we will definitely stay again.

Dining tip, Short Walk

MARIE CALANDER'S RESTAURANT IN THE HOTEL PARKING LOT, PERFECT FOR A RELAXING BREAKFAST.JUST A SHORT DRIVE SOUTH ON PRICE STREET IS "STEAMERS OF PISMO BEACH" A SEAFOOD RESTAURANT WITH A GREAT OCEANVIEW. [...], OUR WAITER, WAS VERY ATTENTIVE AND EXTREMELY HELPFUL WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE AREA.

--California Carol, THOUSAND PALMS,CA Oct 16, 2009

Dining tip, Short Walk

Right in front of the hotel is a very nice restaurant that you can simply walk to. After your meal, you can return to the hotel and walk down the stairs to the beach to walk off your dinner.

Dining tip, Short Drive

Lots of great little restaurants on Pomeroy Ave. this is the street that leads directly to the Pismo Pier. Try Splash Cafe for some clam chowder for lunch. It's good and affordable. Their sandwiches are huge and affordable as well.

Dining tip, Short Walk

Plenty of restaurants in town, just be sure to make reservations as they get crowded during the summer.

--Labor Day Getaway, Pismo Beach Sep 8, 2009

Time savers tip, Short Walk

A much less crowded beach is directly in front of the hotel. You not only save on parking and the time it takes to find it, you can easily access your own room if need be.

Drive into Arroyo Grande for dinner at Klondike Pizza; the food is great and it is a fun environment!

Dining tip, Short Drive

Very close to the pier which we go everyday, excellent food at the pier (the best clam, clam chowder, seafood, best taco and best cevichi at El Murador Mexican Cuisine, MUST TRY THE CEVICHI!) Restaurant is on same side as BRAD's.

Dining tip, Short Drive

McLintocks Restaurant (short drive) serves wonderful steaks with all the trimmings (even after-dinner liquer is included with the meal). Harry's Bar (near the pier) is fun and lively, especially when live music is offered.

Dining tip, Short Walk

I don't remember the name of the place, but down the street, there was the BEST cinnamon rolls I have ever had in my life. Ask anyone in town, they all know about it.
