Great Place for Family Stay
Justjill Nov 2, 2009
We enjoyed the pool, walked on the beach which was easily accessed by the hotel. We enjoyed a so-so continental breakfast ... outside on a nice morning. We shopped in nearby beach cities. I would recommend this spot to a family as the prices were not so bad, however the beds could be a bit more comfy. I loved the rooms decor and how I had a coastal view!!! Very beautiful spot!

The Seacrest is probably one of the best hotel to stay in while in Pismo Beach. The rooms have been newly renovated and is ... very clean. Check out their website for pictures of the rooms and it is exactly what you get when you get there. It has a normal size heated pool and 3 hottubs. It also has plenty of chairs and tables for outdoor dining next to the pool (very convenient for family with children). The staff is friendly, and they have complimentary Seattle's Best coffee available to guest in the lobby 24/7. They also have complimentary breakfast every morning. We stayed in the Ocean View King room. The view of the ocean is at an angle. You cannot see the ocean while laying on your bed due to the balcony. You have to step out of your room in order to catch a view of the ocean. However, you can sleep with the sliding door opened a crack and hear the waves while you sleep. It's a pretty awesome experience. The hotel does provide direct access to the beach below the hotel. It's literally 60 something steps of stairs down to the beach from the hotel. The hotel is located 3 minutes drive to Pomeroy Ave. which is the main street that leads to the Pismo Pier. This street is lined with great restaurants and small beach shops. It is home to the acclaimed Splash Cafe which claims that they have the best clam chowder in all of Pismo. It's pretty good clam chowder indeed (We ate there twice during our weekend stay). The line is always long at the Splash Cafe, but trust me the service is fast and you will not wait longer than 20-30 minutes from the back of the line to the cashier. The hotel is great, but it is not worth the $200 plus per night on the weekends that they charge. I would not pay over $165 per night at this hotel. Parking is fairly convenient at Pismo Beach. They have machines everywhere that takes credit card for parking fees at the beach. Parking is $1 per hour, and parking is free everywhere after 6pm. There is also some free parking available further from the busier areas of Pismo Beach. Pismo is a nice little beach community and I would recommend it to everyone for a quick weekend getaway!! Hope this review helps out alot of people. Thanks everyone!!!

Lots of great little restaurants on Pomeroy Ave. this is the street that leads directly to the Pismo Pier. Try Splash Cafe for some clam chowder for lunch. It's good and affordable. Their sandwiches are huge and affordable as well.

Plenty of restaurants in town, just be sure to make reservations as they get crowded during the summer.
