Imagine…Its All Here! The Sirata Beach and Conference Center is truly a tropical island paradise. Located on 13 acres of sugary white, privately owned beachfront directly on the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, there is no need to go anywhere else. Enjoy the beach, three beachfront pools (heated when necessary), two whirlpools, and three great places all on one resort: The Compass Grille, a casual restaurant offering Floribbean fresh dining for breakfast, lunch & dinner; Rum Runners Bar & Grille, for beachfront or poolside drinks and food; and, Harrys Beach Bar, truly a local institution and the place to be seen. We would also be remiss if we didnt mention our Lobby Lounge, for a more intimate late night gathering and our hidden treasure, The Sea Breeze Trading Company, for memorabilia and sundries. Our resort has more than 380 rooms of which 170 are suites, all at affordable rates. Choose from a variety of guest rooms with kitchenettes, refrigerators, and family style suites. On site amenities include a fitness center, Captain Daves wave runners, paddle boats, and even a childrens play area. With so much on property, you wont have to leave. In case you do, we have full concierge services.

Hotel dining was good value. Lots of nearby alternatives also available. The St. Petes beach is one of the nicest anywhere; it cannot get any better than this.

Got all I paid for and a bit more
paule Nov 28, 2009
To NOT get a room right on the beach at this pricing (for me) would have been a deal-breaker. Still, this economy room was a ... little tired, very small but very clean. Service was exceptional in every way. They treated me as if I had paid a lot more.

consistently very nice
travlin' tom Nov 22, 2009
The design of the hotel is it's best feature. Some of the other hotels we looked at were the rooms on each side of the ... property and the gardens , pools and bar in the center forming a tunnel from the street to the beach. The Sirata in spread out widthwise with bars and pools at both ends. Much more relaxed and open. The staff was always fun, polite and helpful. The food at the Compass Grille is good and all experiences were quite pleasant. Granted, the Sirata is showing signs of age but is well maintained. The Sirata has character unlike the other lego blocks on the beach.

[...] getting a "smoking permitted room" was an option. However, the hotel went smoke-free in 2007. This was a major ... disappointment as it was the reason we picked the place. [...]The room were small, amenities nil, no water pressure, toilet paper and tissues were sandpaper, staff unfriendly and unhelpful. Pool is nice, beach is gorgeous and grounds lovely.

The trip was good. The hotel was nice and the location is perfect. The only down side was that the traditional room was ... very small. Not big enough for four people. The Compass Grille was good, and the pool was very nice.

The staff was real nice here when had a room on the street side and asked if we could switch to a beach side room and they ... had us switched to one the next fmorning. The beach is beautiful here as well, the only negative i can think of is they make you pay 7 bucks if you want shade at the beach. Me and my fiance would love to come again sometime

We had an excellent stay, we reserved the "King Suite", on the 5th floor, the view was great, the dinning/sitting area & ... bedroom were separate. The kitchenette was convenient. The fitness center was well equipped, there were 3 pools to choose from and the beach was close to the hotel.

Staff was friendly enough, but when registering we were not told they would put a $120.00 charge on debit card for incidental ... expenses. We were told they would charge the card, but not how much. Location is great! Hotel needs help! Shows as 3 stars, should be 1.

Great Beach
Ronnie Aug 24, 2009
We got there on Saturday afternoon, our room was ready and very clean. The staff was friendly, especially our front desk ... clerk, Yaya, fantastic personality and very pleasant. It rained the next day, so we couldn't enjoy the beach and water activities much. The compass room was good, we had the breakfast buffet, reasonably priced. Overall we enjoyed the accomodations and every single person in the staff that we encountered was pleasant and helpful. Not sure if we would go back to St. Pete but if we do, we would stay there again.

You need to plan ahead because there really isn't much going on. Bars and clubs are practically empty, the bars at the resort stop serving at 9:30, and you will probably find yourself searching for something to do with little luck.
