Nice Boutique Hotel
KMT Nov 11, 2009
The hotel is very stylish considering the building had been condemned. I was comfortable in the room and as a female ... traveling alone, I felt pretty safe. I love all of bath amenities they provided. The service was good, but there were a few people who took their job way to seriously. Also, I was charged like $5 for a bottle of water when the sign said $2.50. BEWARE - there is a $22 per day valet parking fee. I HATE paying for parking. Just FYI.

Call downstairs to have your car brought up a few minutes before you go down. At times I had to wait. Also, if you don't mind walking, you may be able to park in a lot for cheaper, but I didn't want to chance walking around the area alone.

Pleasant stay
Anne Nov 10, 2009
This was a pleasant, enjoyable, quiet place to stay. No street noise. It was handy to the conference I was attending, and the ... MARTA station next door made it easy to get around the city. Some of the furniture had signs of wear and tear, just around the edges, mostly things in good shape. If you are a picky traveller, this might bother you. One thing to watch for, use of the in-room mini bar. I had some bottled water on my arrival. The room charges showed a 95% increase on that price. When I inquired at checkout I was told this included taxes, no other interest was shown by the desk clerk in why the charge was so high. I would encourage you to watch extra charges closely. Other than this experience, staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

One Night in Downtown Atlanta
kitchensink Oct 23, 2009
I had to pick up my boyfriend in Atlanta and wanted to stay there for the night in a nice hotel. The Ellis was a very good ... choice! A very classy hotel located in downtown Atlanta. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a lot of restaurants down the street and a mall. We didn't get to do much since we were only there one night and it was a Wednesday and we had to drive back the next day. I took him to the Brick Store Pub, it's 10 minutes away from the Ellis by car. It was also fantastic. The only thing I had a slight problem with was that parking was an issue.

Wonderful Boutique Hotel
Sarita Sep 28, 2009
I love boutique hotels because the guests are not one in a million. The staff knows who you are and actively engages you in ... conversations about your stay at the hotel and your trip to Atlanta. It's like being an extended part of a family, except that they are careful not to cross that invisible line that separates guest from staff. I really enjoyed my stay at the Ellis hotel as it provided the perfect combination of elegance, comfort, hospitality and convenience.

Fantastic Little Hotel
EC Aug 9, 2009
I had a reservation at another hotel which was disgusting. At the last minute I found the Ellis which had a wonderful, ... affordable rate. It was beautiful, safe feeling, spotless, comfortable and had great service. The food was amazing and there's a wine tasting every evening. It is also right next door to the Peachtree Center Marta stop - perfect for getting to the airport in 20 minutes.

Not my cup of tea
Red Aug 8, 2009
This is not a hotel - it feels like a NYC apartment building complete with a view of a brick wall from the windows next to ... the bed. The room was very, very small but it was very chic in design/furnishings. The bathroom was also lovely. A couple of extras -- a complimentary wine tasting which I did not partake in and free internet access. I can't say that I recommend this hotel because it has absolutely no warmth or sex appeal and it is certainly not elegant as the description suggests. There is no entrance to the hotel and no pool. Just not my cup of tea.

Great Hotel
conference traveler Aug 8, 2009
I attended a conference in Atlanta and the Ellis was right across the street. It was an extrememly good value and the hotel ... was really nice. Although I wasn't there much, I felt pampered and the staff was so nice and helpful. The only complaints I have is it was noisy from the traffic so I don't know if that happens with all hotels there. Also I had a problem with the valet parking. They may have just been busy, but I had a hard time turning over my car and then getting it.

Excellent Hotel
Kyle G Aug 4, 2009
This hotel was great. The staff were excellent, and our room was great. The bathroom was "off the chain" the sheets and bed ... were exquisite! The location was great as well within walking distance to all major attractions! I will be staying here again and again.

Atlantic Station is a great shopping area only about 2-3 miles from the hotel. If your wanting to do alot of attractions (ex. Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, CNN, Atlanta Zoo, High art museum, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, and etc.) The city pass is well worth the savings. I did all of the above on my trip and they all were very fun and great for family.

TJ Aug 4, 2009
Thisis a nice hotel, with great staff and friendly service. All fees weren't disclosed up front and this annoyed me mildly. ... Parking, Restocking of snacks (not the snacks themselves, but a restocking fee), Valet tips were not disclosed. If the staff weren' so nice,I wouldn't consider going back. Lastly, the room was rather noisy from the traffic below.
