We were in Chicago for an art show for three days. The room was slightly smaller than average but was laid out well to ... partition off the bedroom area from a TV/relaxation area. The hotel was close to restaurants, shopping, and our art show on Navy Pier. The breakfast was fine to start out the day. Watch out for the parking fees - - self parking at $37/day. We would definitely stay there again.

The room was a little small for 2 adults and 2 children, thank goodness we didn't spend much time in it. The location is ... wonderful. It is not on Michigan Ave, so not so busy and noisy. It is close to the loop-quick walk over the river. The restaurants around the hotel are great too.

We went to Chicago to see my daughter perform in a show. Airline caused us to delay our arrival, Springhill staff had ... cancelled our room, but the on duty staff corrected the problem rapidly and were great. The only problem I had was the $44.00 per day for parking. Valet made sure they showed the number to call for the car, but neglected to mention the cost per day. There is a garage around the corner for $8 per night on weekends, try that.

The pizza place about 3 blocks away was very good. The hotel staff suggested it and gave us a coupon for a free desert and that was delicious. The name of it was Lou something.

Great hotel
Dee Nov 1, 2009
This hotel was great. Everybody that went with me really liked the hotel. The free breakfast was very good. The staff was ... just awesome. I can not even say how great they were. They were so helpful and friendly. Every staff member that passed you would say hello and ask how you were doing. They would not hesitate to help you. The rooms were clean and nice. The only problem with the room was that the fridge did not work, which was not a huge deal. The beds were very comfortable. I was one of 4 who stayed in the room, and there was plenty of room for all of us. While we were there we visited the Museum of Science and Industry and that was very cool, everybody enjoyed it. We all wished we could have spent more time there though. I think you could have gone to the museum for three days and still would not have seen everything you wanted.

Great place to stay!
Experienced Traveler Oct 5, 2009
My mom and I traveled to Chicago for business and shopping. The hotel provided a great central location for us to walk to ... both the Merchandise Mart and multiple shopping areas. The room was very clean and comfortable, minus the sofa bed, but I just slept on the sofa without pulling out the bed and it was pretty comfy. Dividing the sitting and sleeping area was a wall created by a well setup work station for my laptop. The wall also provided some privacy for us both even though sharing the room; this was helpful when I stayed up later to watch tv and my mom wanted to sleep. I found it odd the hotel lacked vending machines, but maybe that is not unusual in Chicago, not sure about that. The free breakfast each morning was really good, they had so much to choose from. Overall the hotel exceeded our expectations, especially when compared to other hotels with the similar rates and locations. I highly recommend this hotel for its service, location, cleanliness, comfort and price.
