Why do slot machines hate me so much? Nov 16, 2009
Pros: The location is great right in the middle of the strip, and it's easy to get to, in, and out of the parking garage, ... the casino, and your room. The casino is nicely average; very typical of a smaller casino. Everyone was friendly. Rooms were nicely sized, decorated and appointed, and the plasma TV was a nice plus. Cons: A room service tray sat in our hallway for 2 days. The tub does not drain well at all, as other reviewers stated. No comforter on the bed (but could request extra blankets). Other than breakfast special, the restaurant was pricey. No free entrance to Drais night club as a hotel guest.

The good... The hotel is in a great location if you plan to walk the strip you can start on one side and go all the way down ... and come back on the otherside. It's a smaller casino. The benifits of that are that if you need to go back to your room it does not take 25 minutes to make your way back like in some of the larger ones. Also the same for the parking as it is above the building and easy to get to through the elevator in the lobby. It's also great if you like to play the nickels and get free drinks. the servers are all over and you rarley go with a drink if you want one. some of the larger ones I went ot seems like you didn't get that type of service. A decent rewards program that gives you some freebies for playing as well as use of your rewards card for food, drinks and at the gift shop. The king sized bed was very comfortable, but then again I didn't go to bed soder The not so good.. The price if fair but it should be know that I found it hard to believe they were still in the 90's with the 11.00 a day Internet fee, additional charges with wi-fi. Free internet should be standard in this day and age. The bathroom was clean with the shower as the weak link as the drain did not want to keep up during a shower.

Overall Good, Could be better
Frequent Business and Leisure Traveler Nov 12, 2009
I have stayed at numerous Las Vegas hotels before (many more expensive) but never have stayed at Bill's before this trip. It ... was not a disappointment. Overall the room size, comfort of the bed, the lighting in the room, view from the room looking outside, the location and the price was good. There are a few things I would suggest... The carpets could use a cleaning and the drains need Draino as well (very slow draining in the shower/tub). If they would do this on a weekly or monthly basis, it would be a noticeable difference and one that would not cost them too much. I also had a problem with the wireless internet. I have no problem at all paying for it, but the wireless signal was so inconsistent and did not work half the time. The only other knock I would have against Bill's is the fact that you can hear a lot of noise from outside or other rooms. Granted not much can be done now due to the age of the building, but if you are a light sleeper, you will probably have problems sleeping. Between the sirens and construction going on outside to the people in their rooms drinking and/or doing something else, you will probably easily hear it. I would definitely consider staying at Bill's again. The price is more than fair and the overall experience was a positive one, I just hope they can make some of the changes I mentioned above.

VEGAS BEST KEPT SECRET
none Oct 24, 2009
I have always enjoyed the smaller hotels and have returned to them over the years. I am now 81 and Bill's was just perfect, ... friendly caring staff. I was even given a strip side room and my window looked directly out on the Eiffel Tower at Paris Hotel and I could see The Bellagio Foundains at night. The staff planned it that way. They "watched" over me. Security is just excellent. Food in Victorian Room is good, did not try steakhouse. I would recommend this hotel highly for the senior traveler. Rooms were super quiet. Very good FREE entertainment in the afternoons with BIG ELVIS, a very talanted entertainer who sounds just like Presley. This little hotel is a well kept Vegas secret

This hotel is OK if you don't want anything too big or fancy. It was a pleasure trip, & we had quick, easy access to the ... Strip, Caesar's Palace, Bally's, & other hotels. Saw the fountain show at the Bellagio, went to Paris, & took the Eiffel Tower elevator ride - (a great way to see all the beautiful neon lights of Vegas). Then we played the Slots at about 4 hotels, all this in one evening!Better take good walking shoes!!Had lots of fun - a real Happening place!

I can't say enough about Bill's. The room was large, VERY CLEAN, comfortable and had cute western decor. There was a nice, ... large flatscreen tv and if you ask you might get a room upgrade with a viw of the strip and the Bellagio fountains. The hotel has great rates and the friendliest staff ever! My trip was for a conference at the Bellagio,I chose Bill's for its location in relation to the bellagio oh and for the great rates I guess i'm a cheapie!! Try Bill's for a clean, comfortable, and inexpensive stay in a great location on the strip in Las Vegas. You WON'T be dissapointed!!!!

If you don't want to spend the many hours required to go visit the Grand Canyon but would still like to experience the beauty of the area, you can go visit Red Rock Canyon. It's only a short drive from Vegas (about 30 minutes from center Strip) and it offers a great scenic road as well as numerous hike options if you would like to discover it more up close... Great location right in the middle of the strip. It's one of the older hotels and has a throwback vibe. For the price you ... can't beat it. The rooms were actually pretty big, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The great thing about it being small is you don't have to walk 3 mles to get in and out of your room. I would stay here again for sure! And the rooms have an HD flat screen TV too but who goes to vegas to watch TV but its a nice perk.

Bill's is the place to be
Lewie's Mom Oct 9, 2009
Bill's is located right in the heart of everything. It may be small but what more could a person ask for. The rooms were ... nice and wow the 40 inch flat screen tv in every room was an added bonus. Not that I spent a lot of time watching tv. The food at the Victorian Room was great especially the steak and eggs for $5.99. I just wish they offered it a little longer in the mornings. It was available from 12AM - 6AM. We ate there at 2 AM and it was great. Sorry to say that we did not get to eat at Bill's Steakhouse as it is only open from Thursday - Monday. I bet it would have been great too. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The cocktail waitresses were wonderful. I played the slots some and they were not loose. I changed up to table games and was very niave about these but all the dealers were nice and understanding teaching me. Just wish they would have a few more low limit tables as I was just learning and did not want to risk a lot of money at once. I bet others in this crazy economy would agree. Hey sometimes it pays to be cheap. I think that is why I enjoyed Bill's so much as the rates of other rooms located in the same area were much higher than mine. I would love to stay there again :)

Singleandtravelingalone Sep 26, 2009
The location is unbeatable...there is nowhere you can't reach easily on the strip. I don't know why everyone charges for ... internet but it was actually $14 a day not the $12 I was told at the front desk. Can't really complain for the price. The pool next door at the Flamingo is great, they even have a "top optional" pool which is nice primarily because you have to be over 21 to get in so no children. The coupon booklet given at check in was useful for $5 off at several buffet locations, including a couple that are highly rated. Be sure to go to "The Mix" nightclub at Mandaly Bay for the view. No need to buy a drink just be sure to look out both sides...a better view will not be found. Tried to add one more night (a Thursday night) and the price almost doubled so went elsewhere. The room I had was exactly like the one in the picture...no surprises and very clean. Bathroom is a little dated, but everything works so unless you just have to have the new, curvy style shower curtain rod, you will be fine. One thing, if you are very tall, the shower could be a problem as the shower head was about right for me at 5'7". Overall was great for the price and location and would absolutely stay again.

R.T. Sep 18, 2009
I went to Las Vegas to celebrate my 21st birthday and chose to stay at Bill's Gamblin' Hall since it was extremely affordable ... and was in a prime location (mid strip). Upon check in, the front desk agent noticed that it was my birthday and gave me a complimentary upgrade to a room "with a view" and let me tell you, the view was amazing. I could see the (faux) Eifel tower and Bellagio fountains all from my window and it was absolutely fantastic. The first night there everything was fine; TV worked, AC was ice cold, etc. The second day there we noticed that the bathroom was infested with ants, not one ant or two ants but hundreds of ants. It appeared they got in through a crack in the caulk surrounding the bathtub. They were crawling all over the bathtub, shower curtain, and the walls. Not really wanting to cause a fuss or deal with the hassle of moving rooms we just dealt with it and washed as many of them down the shower drain that we could. Yes it was a little gross, but it was managable. If I had been staying at a more expensive hotel I would have complained, but since I wasn't paying much in the first place I just let it go. I'm sure not all rooms have an ant issue either, it was just a luck of the draw I guess. All in all, if you can do without the luxurious service and title of The "Bellagio" or The "Venetian" and just want a place to crash in an affordable, mid strip hotel, then this is the place to stay.

The location and the Victorian renovated rooms was one of the reasone we choose Bill's. We were not diasppointed!! The view ... from our 4th floor room had the Eiffel Tower and the Bellegio Water show which was Awesome! Flamingo right next door had a great buffet, Margaritaville and the Free Flamingo & Swan/Ducks Habitat. The Casino is noisy and needs updated, but that did not affect the rooms or the location. You will be approached with offers of free meals and free shows in exchange for listening to a timeshare presentation. They tell you it's a 90 minute presentation. You will invest over 3 hours from the time your arrive to the time you leave with your free gifts. If you have 3 hours to waste, it's a good way to get a couple of free meals or tickets to a show. We did it and enjoyed the meal and show immensely. But at the end of the day, we really wish we have those 3 wasted hours instead.

Since Bill's Gamblin was so close to the other major hotels, we had a choice of cheap easy diner food at our hotel and for a nice splurge go to the other casinos for a meal. This of course was all within a a brief walking distance not to mention all the sites you get to see along the way. Some of the fancier restaurants have pre-fix menus and I highly encourage those.
