The Radisson Htl Newport Beach is an AAA Three-Diamond full service htl situated less then 1 mile from John Wayne/Orange County International Airport, 4 miles from South Coast Plaza, 5 miles from Fashion Island Shopping Center and Balboa Island, 18 miles from Disneyland and 20 miles from Knotts Berry Farm. Hotel completed a Multi-Million renovation in 06. Very nice room, the hotel is really nice, quiet and clean. Service was awesome, the beds, and room was great. We had two ... balconies, although not much to see but some building lights. Paper in the AM, didn't use the gym. We ate at Tiffany's, I had the West Coast Salad, which was good.

I used to live in the Newport/Irvine area so wanted to be close to my meeting as well as shopping and dining locations I preferred and this is very central to the airport as well as Irvine and Newport restaurants, etc.

I like the location of hotel and with the price we paid it's great value. The hotel room is clean and sheets are clean but ... the service is not great. I reserved [...] and said it's 3 people but when we checked in at 3 PM they gave us a king bed. We had to wait an hour for a 2 queen bed be available. On Our last night we have to ask for extra towels since they only gave us 2 bath towels and 3 hand towels. No wash cloths.

The hotel was a perfect location for a meeting the next morning nearby. I've never had a hotel check in with me after I've ... gotten to my room to make sure everything is ok and The Radisson did just that. I mentioned that, in fact, there was an issue in the bathroom and it was taken care of right away. One drawback is not that it's close to the airport but that it's close to the runway so you're very aware of every plane that takes off. However John Wayne airport flights stop around 11 at night and resume around 7am. I had a wonderful room and aside from the airplane noise (which is only very noticeable if you're spending all day/evening in your room) would definitely recommend to other travelers.

Close to OC Airport

We were visiting friends. The hotel was nice, the staff was friendly and the room service was good. It is very close to the ... airport so expect some airplane noise. The only thing I really didn't like was there was no vent/fan in the bathroom.

We decided to take an impromptu trip to Newport one weekend and the rates at the Radisson were very reasonable so we booked ... and hopped in the car. Wow. When we arrived I was really impressed with how nice the hotel was. The front desk staff was sugary-sweet and friendly. And the room was perfect. Very clean, comfortable bed, absolutely exceeded my expectations. Loaction was close to Balboa Island, Fashion Island, etc. We walked to Benihanas for dinner. All in all we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back again soon for our next Newport-Weekend-Getaway.

Not Good for a Wedding

Because the reservations were placed on Orbitz, the Hotel said they could not give any extra consideration to the fact that ... one of the rooms was for my daughter, the bride and her groom. If we had booked through the Hotel and had the wedding at the hotel, they would have given our entire special accomodations.

Staff was extremely accomodating, respectful of and responsive to every need and every request. For a hotel that hosted our ... event and several others at the same time, all were very well supported. Each room offered a complementary daily drink coupon and a daily breakfast coupon.

My husband and I were here for a family funeral. The location was perfect to the church, family home and reception at the ... Pacific Club. The staff was very friendly everywhere we went in the hotel and always offered assistance without being asked! Uor room was cleaned and resupplied each night without having to ask for any additional towels, pillows etc....what a pleasure! Under not so pleasant circumstances, the hotel and staff could not have made our stay more pleasant. Thank you so much!

Nice hotel in business district but not too far from beach. No restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was nice and ... included in rate if you stay in the Club Level rooms. Rooms are nice but small. Overall great value for money would definitely stay again.

If You Like Trucks & Planes

I really like the renovation and expected planes flying in and out due to the close proximity to the airport. But there were ... too many other distractions that went on day and night: delivery trucks backing up with their incessant beeping, tree trimmers, noisy clientele with loud stereos in their cars pulling up to the hotel. The hotel in itself is grand; love the interior, free internet, the balconies, the high ceilings, the color scheme, the bathroom fixtures, walking distance to Starbucks and the king bed. But checking in and walking from the lobby to my room, I wasn't too comfortable walking through all the corporate events going on as I wasn't part of the conventions (the entrance to the tower is right where all the conventions are held). Otherwise, I love the price point and Radisson altogether. Reliable and clean.
