Satisfactory in Seattle

We met our grown son in Seattle. He was visiting on business from the east coast. My husband and I arrived late, and the desk ... clerk said we did not have a reservation (although our son had already checked in).It took quite a while to get things straightened out.The desk clerk even called the room and woke up our son before she would believe us. The hallway just outside our room smelled heavily of mj which was very odd, since I had read a review of this hotel just before we left, and IT STATED THE EXACT SAME COMPLAINT!! We wondered it if wasn't an employee...too much to be a coincidence.

Rooms were nice. Prices were reaonable. Breakfast to go came with over cooked eggs and under cooked bacon. Staff was friendly ... and knowledgable.

We toured around seattle. I wish there was more parking available and that it was free. The hotel was charging $20/day to ... park in the parking garage because there was limited parking across from the hotel,

The hotel is good, service is fine, lower floor 'lake view' included views of the roof + road as well conveniently close to ... down town tram and not too far a walk to the needle (15 minutes) kids will love the sea planes taking off all the time off the lake, nice yaughts too. Good chowder restaurants on the lake. Close drive from main highways

Courtyard by Marriott Seattle Downtown/Lake Union, Seattle, Washington was comfortable and the staff very helpful but it was ... lacking in personality and for the price I expect more. There is no transportation from the SEA/TEC airport to the hotel so that added approximately $40 each way. I loved the view of Lake Union from our room but the noise level from the street traffic was continuous. I sort of enjoyed the walk to and from public transportation but the it was not raining out. The local restaurants in the neighborhood were either very pricey or cheap chains. However, when the hotel made the reservation at one of the restaurants we were served a complimentary appetizer which was very gracious. The staff was very helpful and gracious, but the hotel was lacking in personality, bland and boring and If the hotel rate was lower I could have acceptedl this.

The Courtyard Marriot is a great location when going to the Seattle boat show or to Seattle center. The rooms are very ... spacious for 2 people.
