Too bad it smelled like cigarettes

Good location, problem was this was a SMOKING hotel, so even if you were in a no smoking room, it still smelled. We were ... told the entire hotel was non smoking, this was a lie.

You should inspect this place yourself. It doesn't deserve "Travelodge" Remodled bath was the sloppiest, unprofessional job ... I've ever seen. Stickers still on tub and toilet, broken toilet seat, grout or latex smeared on tile, refrigerator frozen, outside metal stairs dangerous, not level. No place to place breakfast...it had to be taken to the room. Nuts!!!

Disappointing and Won't Stay Again
Spanish Market Devotees Jul 25, 2009
We specifically said NON SMOKING and were given a dirty smelly smoking room. Orbiz had advertised the motel as totally smoke ... free and it was not. Since it was a non-refundable reservation and this is high season it was impossible to change. They blamed Orbiz and said that Orbiz had gotten it wrong and were very unapologetic. Very unhappy. The bathroom was small and not especially clean, two towels, just about as cut rate as possible. Worst was having to spend the night in a smoke greasy room.

They keys were not programmed correctly. So, after the first night I had to go back to the front desk to have them ... reprogrammed. This seems to happen a lot.

We were looking for modest cost and close in location to minimize driving/parking. SF Plaza Travelodge fit the bill nicely. ... Nothing fancy here, but a good clean basic hotel room with a 15 to 20 minute walk to the old town Plaza. Staff was very helpful with information.

Was there for a yoga workshop and r&r at the local japanese health spa. This was the best deal price and location-wise that ... I ever had, and I have been coming to Santa Fe for 20 years. The service was excellent for such a small place and the breakfast quite substantial.

Walking Distance to the Plaza
Elizabeth Mar 18, 2008
The Travelodge Santa Fe was definitely walking distance to the plaza. We are a young couple and wanted to be able to walk to ... the plaza without feeling like we were staying at an uppity and overly fancy place. Also, the price was cheap-- what you would normally expect for a 2 or 2.5 star hotel and so were the accomidations (nothing exceptional, nothing horrific). Some disappointing things about the hotel: The internet didn't work our entire 2 night stay and though we asked them to fix it twice, they didn't. Our remote didn't work at first, but when we asked them to fix it, they came upstairs cordially and read through the booklet to program the universal remote. That was slightly awkward, but okay. The breakfast was alright. They had coffee, juice, muffins, granola bars, pastries, bagels, english muffins and a waffle maker (all super carby) but there was a Whole Foods also within walking distance if you want to stop there and supplement your breakfast.

If you are interested in trying some great New Mex-Mex, try Pepe's Tacos. It was cheap, delicious and tons of locals were eating there!

good location.
paul Mar 17, 2008
i liked the location best of all. it was very close to alot of my vacation objectives. quick and easy check-in. my ... electronic key had a malfunction and caused abit of a problem for me. it was'nt fixed right away,i had to keep asking the hotel clerk to let me in,several times in 1 day. i asked for a plunger 3 times before getting one. these may seem small, but these are the things that matter to me. on the positive side,i had a coffee maker and fridge in my room. overall,a good experience but could've been better.
