OK for the price; great for the location
Steve Nov 11, 2009
Very comfortable and large rooms, clean, but in a hotel under renovation from old and dotty to perhaps something different. ... It worked well for us due to location near the Yale University campus and the nicer part of New Haven.

Pleasant stay

Very nice rooms. Enjoyed our stay. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. When our first room smelled like cigarette ... smoke, we were quickly given a new room which had no issues. Located in "downtown". Short walk to Yale campus.

Reasonable Stay
Yalie Girlfriend Aug 2, 2009
This hotel was completely serviceable. The staff wasn't overwhelmingly friendly, but they were efficient. The room was ... clean, but outdated. The room decor could use some refreshing. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small and only had a shower stall, instead of a bathtub with shower combination. All in all, completely reasonable since it's right in the downtown area and walkable to everywhere we needed to visit. It's very close to Yale. Don't park at their parking lot - it's the most expensive one in the area. They charge $15, but you can get $10 at the open lot a half block back on George Street. Also, street parking is free and available on weekends after 7pm, which is what we did.

The Green. Yale University. The antique churches on the Green. Bars.

Those staying at the hotel probably do so because of the medical clinic across the walkway from the hotel or because they have business at Yale. The campus is a 2 block uphill walk on Chapel. There are many restaurants on the way to campus that offer more options than the hotel restaurant.

Good hotel. Very nice people!

This hotel has a classy look, sort of New England style as immediately seen in the lobby. The rooms are large and also have ... this New England style type antiquish looking furniture. The photos of the hotel do not give the hotel the right justification. It looks like some renovation was done recently. Also I like their small business center that has a free-standing terminal with internet and printer and also free internet in the room. The internet connections are excellent. Very conveniently located towards the Green and Yale University.

Has seen better days
Andrew Dec 7, 2008
This was my second stay at this hotel. The rooms, like the hotel, feel like an old apartment building. The third floor is a ... residential care facility, and the other floors seem to be moving that direction. The carpet is tired, the TV very small, and the bathroom only had an old shower. The bed was firm and the day sofa comfortable. The best part of the hotel was the free internet access and the exercise room that had a fair selection of aerobic machines and weights. The breakfast buffet was priced at $10.99 with much better food and variety available a couple of blocks away. The business center consists of a desktop computer in what feels like a closet. The PC dates to the mid-90s, so getting anything done takes awhile. The hotel, fronting a featureless George Street, is 2 blocks from the Yale Quad.
