The Grand Hotel Mediterraneo is very close to the most important monuments, including Piazza Santa Croce, Piazzale Michelangelo, the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. Great hotel location!

We walked the streets of Florence. We took a train to Venice for a day. We went on a wine tasting tour to Tuscany. The food ... at the hotel was AWFUL! Needs improvement and the staff at the bar was unfriendly. We did not like the food for the complimentary breakfast. Add waffles or more American type food. This was the BEST hotel room I have had in Europe so far.

The pizza restaurant next to the hotel was AWFUL - we could not even eat it. There was an AWESOME restaurant - go right out of hotel, take a left at light and walk across the Arno river and second street on left ...it's called Trattoria L'Orologio - great home made Italian food. Good gelato across the street from the restaurant.

Great hotel location!
