I was really impressed, it is a modern and good looking hotel. The room had a full kitchen, granite counter tops, and it ... opened up to a shared patio. Squaw Valley is beautiful, the village with restaurants and shops is right outside the hotel and the gondola is within walking distance.

Disappointment in ORBITZ and HOTEL
Cathy Aug 21, 2009
1st room offered had a view of an outbuilding and parking within 50 yds, no air conditioning, dust and cobwebs flew from ... ceiling fan. 2nd room, veiw of trailer "clinic" within 20 yds and the toilet was broken. 3rd room right above street turnaround with diesel bus and delivery seemingly all night, very hard and uncomfortable bed. When called to cancel the room, was told by hotel that I had to cancel through Orbitz, when I called to cancel through ORBITZ, was told I had to cancel through HOTEL. I had to pay for first night, have not yet received cancellation refund from Hotel or "voucher" from ORBITZ. I will never book through ORBITZ again. I had only one helpful employee and that was [...]. The supervisor was "in a meeting" or "not arrived" when I wanted to talk with her personally, but apparently, ORBITZ customer service did as she told them she wouldn't cancel the reservation. I do NOT recommned a stay at this hotel or any managed by Intrawest(?). A day trip from the surrounding area up the Gondola is worth it, though. But that is it!

Great Location!
Resort Enthusiast Aug 13, 2009
Upon checking in they volunteered upgrading us to a better room location. We were amazed to see that our balcony faces the ... front of the entrance of the Gondola ride and the beautiful mountain behind it. The shops and restaurants were just one floor below so we enjoyed just walking around with the convenience of going back to our room anytime we wanted. Even the Catholic Church is just a minute a way (by car) which is less than a mile from the entrance.

Excellent STAY
Vacationeer Jul 7, 2009
The suite was very clean and attractively furnished. Everything worked but for the wired internet (no wireless). The ... 1br+den suite had 1.5 baths and was big enough for 6 people. The location is good (5 miles from Tahoe city), close to Squaw Valley cable car. When looking for this facility on the map, use Squaw Valley road; google maps and tomtom could not locate Village East in Olympic Valley.

Kinda eerie off season...
Suprised Jun 3, 2009
Hotel was not bad, but I think we were the only people in the whole place. Didn't realize that off season means that almost ... all but 2 shops are closed and there is really nothing at all around to do. Squaw valley is normally packed with fun stuff all the time, so we were a little surprised. We went in May, recommend going between late June-March... otherwise it really is a ghost town.

A nice place to stay
Shelly May 25, 2009
The hotel overall was very nice. It had a beatiful view of the mountains. Though it was a little noisy, especailly at ... night. There are a lot of nice shops and restaurants located in the village. It is a few miles away from Tahoe City and the lake. The rooms were extremely HOT! The floors are heated which is great for the winter time but since we went recently (in May) it made the room extremely uncomfortable. There were fans and we did open the balcony doors but it was still extremely warm. Overall the hotel was nice but I would perfer to stay somewhere a little less noisy that has air conditioning.

Great place to stay in Tahoe...
June Aug 8, 2008
The Village at Squaw Valley is a great place to stay in Tahoe. This is our third time visiting and every time, we've had a ... great experience...the staff is nice and friendly (we had a bathtub that was plugged up that they fixed right away), our room was clean and very comfortable (it had a kitchen with everything you need to cook right there) and the location is close to everything (it was a quick drive to South Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and Reno). The weather was great, nice & sunny although the room had no ac but with the windows opened, it helped cool down the room. We like it so much that we're already planning our fourth trip there!

Location, location
Bonnie Aug 7, 2008
The Village at Squaw was a great vacation spot. I had skied Squaw last year while staying in South Lake Tahoe and driving up ... for two ski days. So I had an idea of the facility and location. I was pleasantly surprised at the room itself, and liked the openness and the kitchen facilities. It was secluded but also very accessible to Tahoe City. There was also plenty for us to do right at the Village.

Nice Location
Jacqueline Aug 3, 2008
Nice location in the village at Squaw. The condo is a nice size for 2 people and was very clean and in good condition. The ... only drawback was the balcony over-looked an Irish Pub/bar in the village, so it was very loud late at night. Without air conditioning, you can be comfortable by opening the doors/windows, but then you have all the noise from the bar. Overall a nice experience, great location and I'd stay there again, just ask for a room that doesn't open into the center of the village.
