Great Little Motel

Needed one night near the Burbank airport to catch an early morning flight. This motel met all of our needs, was very clean ... and comfortable. The outside of the building and the street location do not do it justice. Very close to a mall and Burbank Village which had great restaurants to choose from.

DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY IT"S COVER. The hotel was surprisingly very nice inside.The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. ... The BED was more comfortable than my own, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was one of the better ones I"ve had. Kind of want to keep this place a secret.

Location convinent to family in Burbank. Could use a little more choice for breakfast and a couple of more tables has only 2. ... They have put some money in remodle and it is nice. bathroom floors and toilet net some scraping of residual sealer.

The hotel is located at Olive at Victory. If you take Victory, South, it becomes Riverside and takes you thru Griffith Park and past the Zoo and museum. Depending on the time of day it's much quicker, and always more relaxing, to take Victory and drive thru the park than I5.

The good, the bad, the ugly

If I was driving by this hotel, looking for a room, I would keep on driving. It looks like a dump. However, the rooms are ... renovated and very comfortable. I'm sure this motel loses business because of how it looks. Great mattress. Very clean. No amenities.

Quite and close to everything Hollywood

Overall staff, location and room interior were AWESOME. I researched well before choosing the Portofino Inn. For the price, ... you can't beat it. They have 10-12 cameras located on site, all directly feeding the front desk. This is NOT a bad neighborhood, quite the opposite, but thieves will probably go elsewhere once they see all the cameras. Location: ABC, NBC, and Warner-Brothers studios are literally right down the street, and if you go about 2-5 miles further, you are at Universal Studios, without ever getting on any freeway. The staff is very helpful, and free continental-style breakfast is promptly out in the morning. Interior of the room (which I feel matters most) looks brand new, having been remodeled in the past 18 months. LCD HDTV, granite counters, crown-molding ceiling. Both Costco and Historic Downtown Burbank are < 2 miles away and very easy to get to. This is the place to stay if you are looking for most bang for your buck and are trying to stay reasonably economical. It is not a 5-star hotel, it is definitely a 3+ star stay due to location, interior and helpful staff. I used Google maps, street view to check out the neighborhood. Very quiet, retirement residence virtually next door, city park almost directly across the street, average to low traffic on Olive Ave. Great experience and will stay here next time in L.A. area. Easy access to multiple freeways if you are looking to head out further like beaches or other amusement parks. Close to Griffith park, Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood and Sunset Blvds, Hollywood sign, etc.

Unbeatable location for the price

Very enjoyable hotel stay... the staff is extremely friendly and personable. Left for a weekend trip and returned for an ... overnight as I was flying out of Burbank the next day. The mistake I made is that I took the same room I had previously and I noticed the bed sheet was dirty. Obviously, no one had stayed in the room since my earlier visit and a little more house keeping was in store... not a big deal - never notified the staff... just used the top sheet.

This was a perfect hotel with beautiful, clean, modern rooms. The service and friendliness of the manager and his wife was ... unbeatable. They responded graciously and made our stay absolutely complaint-free! The area is great, the rooms are great, the complimentary breakfast was great, and the price is unbeatable for this kind of service. Anyone staying in or near Burbank should stay at Portofino Inn without question!

We were in the area moving our daughter into her apartment. The location was great for getting around to everything we had ... to attend to. The room was very nice and the staff were VERY helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

I would recommend this motel to anyone. Don't let the outside fool you. The rooms are very spacious and the staff was beyond ... considerate. If your traveling with kids the extra space in the rooms will be appreciated. The kids have room to move around and even lay on the floor and color or read. The beds were very comfortable and each bed came with an abundance of pillows. The fridge and microwave in the room came in handy more then once. This motel is in a great location if your intending to visit either Universal Studios or WB Studios. I would stay her again and recommend it to friends.

The lobby and outside are pretty ugly but the room decor was new and very tasteful, even had crown molding. The room AC unit ... seemed to be new as well. The room was clean & quiet, the bed was comfortable. The flat screen TV was great with HBO and good reception. It's less then 2 blocks from Nickelodeon, and only two traffic lights from I5, Burbank and the Media Center (mall), but it's not nearly as expensive as the hotels on the other side of the 5. The free Internet is an unsecured wireless router. I don't use Wi-fi in coffee shops so I didn't use this one either. I didn't try the continental breakfast, or get a chance to go to the nearby diner on the corner, so I can't comment on them. Only two complaints 1) there is no elevator, but the desk agent did offer to help me get my bags to the second floor, and 2) there is no coffee maker in the room, but there is a microwave, refrigerator, hairdryer, iron and ironing board.

Great Value. Newly Remodeled.

This motel has very recently been completely remodeled. It's not much to look at from the outside and not a destination ... resort, but for a night or two on business or a visit to the area, it's a great bargain.

Our stay at the Portofino Inn was good. No major complaints except we did have some issues with our A/C. Didn't take ... advantage of breakfast and was out most of the day, but it was great to come back at night to a nice, clean, room. We had no neighbors so I can safely say that it was a peaceful stay. I would definitely stay here again.

The Portofino Inn was an unexpected surprise. All rooms beautifully remodeled. Great location near downtown Burbank, a park, ... a Burbank historical site, several movie studios, shopping and Costco. Coffee Shop next door but great restaurants within a short drive. Excellent value for the money.

Don't forget to go to downtown Burbank-great restaurants, shops, movie theaters and a shopping mall all within walking distance after you park your car in a city parking garage FOR FREE.

The Portofino Hotel had been recently remodeled. There were ganite counter tops and granite shower walls. The king size ... matress was a pillow-top and very comfortable. The refridgerator worked well. We did not try the microwave. There was also an ironing board, iron and a hair dryer. I did not see a swimming pool or exercise area. It seemed like a very safe location with lots of parking. The location was near the airport and near many of the studios.

The Portofino Inn room was very comfortable and attractive. The room was a nice size but not large. There was nice space in ... the lavatory area. The breakfast was good but did not have any fruit except juice. The inn is on a busy street, but noise was not a problem. The area is good for walking and was convenient for us. The outside of the inn is not particularly attractive and the pool was not available because of work on it. There are restaurants, fast food, and convenience stores close by.

New and beautifully decorated hotel

I was so surprised with the Portofino Inn. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful, giving us directions to local ... entertainment. Our room looked very modern and was so clean and fresh. The pool was under construction, but I didn't have time to swim anyway! (; I had an excellent stay and will stay there again when I return to Burbank.

There is a huge Town Center just blocks from the hotel. They have many restaurants, theaters and shops to choose from.
