Great But....
Kelly Ann Dec 21, 2009
Awesome Hotel, Great Location. I love Kimpton. My only problem was I was on the bottom floor, and I think the dumpster was ... outside my room and I was woken up by the noise of clanking bottles many times through out the night. Other than that, I had a great trip and loved this hotel. And you can't beat the price.

Nice spot
Hazel Flagg Nov 30, 2009
Nice spot, right in the middle of downtown, close to everything but away from the main mad crush of Union Square. Chinatown, ... North Beach, the Embarcadero, Union Square are all within walking distance, and public transportation is easily available. Belden Place, around the corner, has a number of touristy-but-good restaurants with outdoor seating (and heat lamps!) where you can get a seat on a Saturday night with no reservations. The hotel itself is cute and funky, with very nice staff. Wine reception and coffee service in the lobby means you don't really have to leave the hotel much if you don't want to. :) And Cafe de la Presse has delicious morning pastries you can take back to your adorable room and eat in bed-- the bedding is soft, the mattress comfortable. For the price and location I was very happy.

Very enjoyable get away
Paul the realest Jul 22, 2009
We used the hotel stay as a one night get away. The Kids were gone and we had the chance to spend the night out. The hotel ... staff was very friendly and informative. The hotels location was a stones throw from China Town and with-in short walking distance from Union Square. We had dinner in China town and spent the remainder of the evening at Union Square. This was one of our most rewarding experiences.

Big Surprise! Good and bad...
Victoria Nov 30, 2008
As a native of San Francisco, I used to walk by this hotel practically every day and wondered if it was as nice inside as ... out. First of all, the hotel is situated in the best of locations, in my opinion. It is literally two blocks from Union Square, steps away from the entrance to Chinatown and within the hub of public transportation to take you to practically anywhere in the City. The lobby decor is very whimsical and exciting. Check-in was very quick. The rooms are clean and updated, the bathrooms are huge by hotel standards and room service was great. Thanks a lot Hotel Triton!

Sze Leong Aug 24, 2008
Hotel was located in a very convenient spot for hitting a lot of the San Francisco tourist destinations. It was accessible to ... the BART if you are taking mass transit from San Francisco Internation Airport into the city. Many local buses will take you to places like Fishermans Wharf very quickly. The tour buses have a stop right in front of the hotel as well since it is located at the gate of Chinatown. The hotel was a very short walk from Chinatown and all the shopping and dining venues at Union Square. The room was a little smaller than expected but hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the lobby is very colorful yet classy. Even the room service cleaners were helpful in giving local tips on places to go.

Comfortable but small rooms
Jennifer Aug 12, 2008
The valet seems to be understaffed. When we checked in, there was no one to take our car or greet us, so we parked the car on ... the curb and dragged our luggage in ourselves. The room was very small but comfortable (comfortable, queen-sized bed, fluffy pillows, down comforter) with an iPod player, flat screen tv, small desk, and mini fridge. There was a gaudy looking robe and socks hanging in the closet for sale, which seemed kind of odd. I'm not sure how to describe the decor in the room and hotel except to say it reminded me of Cirque de Soleil. The elevators were small and rickety. The fitness room, while also small, was very nice with new, well-kept machines (with a TV screen for each of the cardio machines) and free towels, fruit, and water. Overall, I found the place to be very clean, functional, and convenient location-wise. The hotel is very close to shopping in union square, Chinatown, and restaurants. And there's nice wine bar just next door if you feel like having a drink and relaxing after a day out. I found it to be a good deal and I would stay here again.

Great Location - Great Staff
Phoebe Jul 30, 2008
This hotel is right by the famous entrance to China Town - BAM - right there. And the staff is extrememly friendly and ... helpful. I arrived around noon (check-in is at 3) and decided to do some work in the lobby. I was having issues getting onto the free WiFi so the hotel manager came down, made some changes from my control panel, and voila! And although I arrived very early, they got me into my room almost 2 hours earlier than check-in time. The staff also was very knowledegable about getting around and gave me faster directions to take the MUNI train system than the MUNI site did. The room was very comfortable and charming. And their complimentary wine happy hour was fun! Although I was in SF for business, I felt like I was on vacation. Thanks Hotel Triton!

Hotel Triton was in a great location, right at the entrance to Chinatown. Parking was close by for our motorcycle, only $5 ... per day! The atmosphere/personality of the hotel was fun & funky, rooms were clean & comfortable. The only thing missing was a coffee pot in the room, kind of a hassle to go to the lobby for coffee...especially on sun. am when it wasn't available until 7 am. Suprising when there were so many great features available in our room. If I get a chance to return I would definately choose to stay there again, just put a coffee pot in the room,PLEASE:)

Hotel Triton A++++
Doug Jun 29, 2008
This was our first stay in San Francisco, and we loved this hotel. The bed was VERY comfy and I loved the down pillows, ... fluffed everyday for you. The room was smaller in size, but that's to be expected staying in downtown. The location couldn't have been better, as it was right across from China town, walking distance to Union Square and just a short ride away from the warf. Truly a great hotel and great location! The only negative would be the internet. The hotel claims every room has broadband and there is wireless, but it is MEGA slow. I tried to even purchase the faster service they offered, but couldn't get the screens to load so I told them to remove the charge I couldn't get it to work on my laptop and neither could my partner and he's very IT inclined. Other than that it was near perfect...who needs internet in SF anyways! Too much to see and do!
