Lego Hotel

Good to great value for traveler who plans to site see and be away. The room is good for the SD area of CA and what you ... would normally expect at the 75-100 range. Service by staff was excellent and responsive to every request. Plenty of choices for food in the area. Room was neat and clean. Not a spa type resort but a good family vacation spot.

Unmet expectations

We had housekeeping try to enter our room 2 times at 0800 and 0930 despite leaving same day with checkout time of 1100 and ... indicating the first time we did not want to be disturbed. Pool was under rennovation, but not advertised as such on web.

Excellent Location

I was there for a high school reunion. I was very impressed with the whole layout. The rooms were spotless and very spacious ... with everything you could want. The girls at the check-in counter were outstanding and very helpful. Much more than the average hotel.

My review of Holiday Inn CARLSBAD-BY THE SEA

The exterior of the hotel was a little run down but once inside the room it was very clean. My wife didn't think it was the ... best but agreed that it was very clean. There was a TGI on the hotel property and few other restaurants across the street in the outlet mall. I am not sure whether I would return next time I am in Carlsbad. The experience was neither outstanding or regrettable, just OK.

The bagel shop in the outlet mall caries bialies, they are not the kind available from NYC, but are enough to calm a craving.

This is a clean hotel... close to everything.. This hotel charge way to much per night... and i have not a clue why they ... say it's on 22 acres. I thought is would be more like a resort...

Holiday Inn By the Sea has a great location near Legoland and the area's beaches. There's an outlet mall across the road and ... several restaurants to choose from. However, it is pricey, like most every hotel in Carlsbad and SoCal in general, so be prepared to spend alot for what you might consider average in other parts of the country.
