This art deco styled hotel located right in the heart of the city centre offers a warm and friendly welcome. Adjacent to Manchester’s shopping area and Gardens, only a short stroll away.
Jenny’s restaurant is bright and spacious with modern furnishings and serves traditional and International cuisine. In addition there is Fridays Bar which is open till late and provides a great night out.

a bit run down, but a good deal overall

I stayed here for 2 weeks and was a bit worried because of the bad reviews, but it was totally fine. It's definitely a bit ... run down, and could use a refurbishment, but the location really couldn't be better -- it's right smack between the city center and the northern quarter, close to everything. The staff were extremely accommodating; the gym and pool / spa were very welcome; and the rooms were quite cheap, too. Overall, I was pleased. My room was freezing but they gave me a space heater so that was okay. It was difficult to control the temperature on the shower, as some others have mentioned, but with a delicate touch it's just fine.

The roomm was small and without window, also there was no air andthe room very stuffy. The shower did not work and the ... outdated gadget failed to give fair distribution of cold and hot water. The bed was very hard, and the mattress appears to be without filling but the present of springs and wood was very prominent. There is no comparison to the least expensive room in the USA. The location was adequate and within reach of all amenities.

Consider dining in the hotel for breakfast, it is very convenient.
