The location is great! the landscaping and resort area was beautiful and very well maintained. Both pools were clean and ... cheery. The room was very old, furnishings did not match...drapes, bedding, chair all different. Bathroom was in need of major upgrade; mirror chipped, wall coverings cracked...etc. But the place was VERY, Very clean and the staf worked hard to keep everything looking as nice as possible. Rooms are a wreck: beds broken, carpet hasn't been cleaned in years, drapes old and sticky, poor decor, bathroom dirty. [...] ... over 70 empty lounge chairs at the beach, only 5 guests over the weekend, they still insist in charging $5.00 for each - why? it seemed ridiculous. Hotel is not being maintained and is poorly managed. The beach front is barely worth so much aggravation. Stay away from it!!!

All in one resort
paw Jan 15, 2010
The resort has a fantastic view of the ocean, but was in no way relaxing..the locals were drunk, obnoxious and fighting at ... 2:30 a.m. on the first night; music played (loud) throughout the day; the rooms are not strucurely sound and heard the smokers next to us cough up a lung each morning at 6:00 a.m. along with smoke coming under the adjoining rooms' door...until I placed a bath towel under the door;didn't use the ac/heat it smelled..otherwise it probably would of made things quieter; they charged a fee each day for the use of beach/pool chairs for the unheated pool; heck we may as well stayed in key west with all the crazyness. Overall the people were friendly and helpful.

Family Traveler Jan 12, 2010
Granted, the hotel is a little outdated and you can tell that it's been around for a while, but we loved the place. It was ... clean and we had all we needed. Our travel group included me, my husband and our two girls (ages 8 & 11). The staff was super friendly. The property had a cute layout. It wasn't crammed next to another hotel. The weather was a little cool when we were there (end of December) so there wasn't a whole lot of beach and pool activity going on. We rented a boat and went to Theater of the Sea...without having to use the car. It was isolated enough to not be crowded and yet close enough to the other ends of the Keys (Key West & Key Largo). We are already planning our return trip.

Visited Key West Stayed on hotel for three nights Hotel needs a total renovation, had ants and roachs in rooms, old carpet, ... old vanities, pictures of garage sale level, tubs that left you in ankel deep water, no ice machines, doors that need adjusting, would not shut unless you slammed them, no outlets in main bathroom. Put us in old old section first night, lights shorted out, had ants. Moved us to a little newer section second day, better room, still needed removating, had roaches, door that stuck, old carpets, drapes, etc. Small TV, only one chair, not too comfortable for two people.

BJ Sep 27, 2009
We were there during the off season and there was only a couple things open at the hotel and of the few open business' there ... were no customers patronizing them, so basically it was dead. Their docks were in need of repair. Our room was comfortable. I have been in better and I have been in worse. We left the hotel each day and enjoyed all the Keys had to offer, there was not a lack of vacationers elsewhere. I would recommend the Wahoo Restaurant just over the bridge to the south and Rib Daddys BBG in Key Largo.

The location was great, the rooms were filthy. Trash can in the room had a tampon in it. Saw the staff treat paying ... customers like they were a pain in the butt. No, ice machine, but they give you a daily ticket to get ice from the Chevron. Prices for boat rentals prices were too high. They don't include any electronics except for a VHF that doesn't work. If you want a beach chair, break out the wallet to rent it for the day. Come on, paying guests should be able to at least get a beach chair for free! I was surprised that I didn't have to pay for the air to breath and the sunshine. This place is taken off my list.

mudmnstrschik Aug 9, 2009
Staff wasn't the friendliest, only amenity that this hotel offers is a free 8lb bag of ice voucher for their gas station ... only. Ask for the pricing per person for the lounge chair, i brought mine and had to use it by the actual room which happened to be ground level. ask the actual charge for guests to launch a boat per day and the charge per ft. to keep it in the water per day, there are limited parking spaces for trucks w/boat trailers. Everything is very expensive, if you have a family and are on a budget i recommend staying in an effieciency w/kitchen and bringing your food. They frown on coolers and any alcoholic beverages not purchased @ one of their bars. My husband & i went w/2 other couples, a 2 yr old & a single guy. I wouldn't recommend this place and won't go back. The view was nice (just of the ocean only), this hotel is for partiers with a big wallet. Recommend stopping @ WalMart before you head down to stock up on plenty of food and drinks.

This facility is past it's prime so go for the view, not the hotel. Key Largo is where you should go for a nice building to ... stay in with nothing to do outside of the hotel, but Islamorada is where all the fun is. Holiday Isle plays host to events throughout the year that are fun for someone who enjoys the partying lifestyle. I can summarize best by saying if you prefer the more laid back Royal Caribbean cruise lines then go to one Key Largo's five star resorts. But, if you gravitate to the more exciting and eventful Carnival boats then I recommend Holiday Isle. p.s. I could not find WiFi and the hotel did not provide ice!

Mellowtiger Jun 17, 2009
Having been to the Florida Keys before, we both knew what we were getting into. The Keys is a very laid back party ... atmosphere in general, so Holiday Isle fit us perfectly. The resort is HUGE and had plenty of different locations to eat/drink. There was constant entertainment. The room was very nice (great A/C) and we paid a bit extra for an oceanfront view, which basically overlooked the entire resort. We stayed in room 412. The elevator was slow, but nothing moves fast in the Keys. Don't expect peace and quiet here until very early in the morning. The room was clean. Overall I would recommend Holiday Isle but if you want a quiet, relaxing place then you should probably stay somewhere else. If you like loud music, Tiki bars, and a great tropical party atmosphere this place is definitely worth checking out.

This place is the arm pit of Isle of Morada. Bathroom fixtures were either broken or did not work. Floor was filthy, bed ... was broken, mattess was broken.
