we enjoyed cancun resort & spa as it was away from the crowds and gambling of the strip. cab fare if necessary was about ... 17.00 for four people from the strip. we also used the shuttle from the strip as it ran back and forth to the strip from 12:00pm to 12:00am.grocery store across the street and we enjoyed cooking in our two bedroom condo. we were two couples and we liked the set up as we each had bedroom and bath on opposite sides of the condo so it felt like we had our own suite for privacy.i would stay here again if i come back to las vegas. we are not big gamblers and the crowds on the strip were nice to visit but also nice to escape to the quiet tropical setting cancun resort has to offer. the concierge were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. nice resort !

Refreshing Getaway
GMW Apr 22, 2009
We traveled to Las Vegas to attend an event at the Thomas & Mack, with plenty of leisure time surrounding our scheduled ... activities. We aren't gamblers, nor are we much into the club scene but we did enjoy easy access to the sights and people-watching (there's plenty!) on the Strip, and the nearby shopping can't be beat. Starbucks and a grocery store are across the street, and a HUGE outlet mall is just a few blocks away. Our 2 bedroom/2 bath plus kitchen unit was spacious and clean, with tasteful furnishings and plenty of room around the dining table for six. The kitchen had all the pots/pans/utensils we could ask for (even Tupperware!) and was large enough for two chefs. The only downside was because they put in a full and not counter-depth fridge, you had to open the door to the fridge to open the dishwasher. We laughed about it and took it in stride. The baths were both large, and both had whirlpool tubs--hardly necessary given the two large swimming pools and choice of several jacuzzi's outside, plus the 4 waterslides. Lots of lounge chairs... only thing missing there is the cabana boy to rub in my sunscreen. Only real problem was lack of Internet connection. The WiFi signal would come and go (as in 0 to 5 bars), and when it went, I'd lose my connection and IP address. Tech support could not provide a solution--the Internet bridge only converted their wavering signal to Ethernet, which still was an on-off signal that kept kicking me off the network. I finally gave up and went to Starbucks when I needed to go online. There was no Ethernet/wired option.

Make sure you have either GPS or a good map for getting around if you're route takes you anywhere except the Strip... the freeway/road system in/around the airport is odd/confusing at best and it is really easy to miss your turn and end up somewhere else until you get the hang of things.

It's so nice to be so close to the strip but be able to come home and relax poolside with peace and quiet. The rooms are ... more like little apartments with everything you need to make your own meals and even do some laundry if necessary. I would highly recommend it!

Excellent Family Stay
Pamela Oct 17, 2008
We were so happy with our stay. We utilitzed the pool and the water slides and my kids had a blast. Our room was huge with ... two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a full kitchen. We saved money because we bought breakfast stuff to eat in the room and didn't have to spend any money. It's close enough to the strip that it's easy to get there and they have a shuttle that runs to the strip every half hour. We like that we were away from the strip and our unit was easy to get in and out of. There are a ton of restaurants and two malls within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic pool; clueless management; only junk food for dinner.
Robbin Sep 9, 2008
I shared a 2-room suite with my sister and her husband. The room was very clean; bathrooms large -- although poor water ... pressure. Although I imagine that's more a Vegas problem than the hotel's. Check-in was horrendous -- they were having computer problems. And the management didn't offer any remedies, i.e., let me take your bag, here's a discount for the bar, etc. When I went to the bar and tried to use a credit card, they said they couldn't take it, because, once again, the computers were down. So tell me, how do people order by credit card over the phone? By the way, the bar food was worse than bar food -- pizza, quesadillas, etc. Very weak and unhealthy. The one redeeming factor was the gorgeous pool. However, I don't know if this was me or the pool, my eyes were killing me for several hours after swimming. I've been swimming in pools all my life, and yes, chlorine can be a little irritating, but this was really painful and made my eyes blurry. So even though I got a good deal on the hotel, there were many issues. Oh, and by the way, the WiFi isn't free.

Becky Jun 19, 2008
We had kids this trip so we didn't want the hustle/bustle of being right in the middle of the strip and casinos but close ... enough that we could go occasionally for special events. The Cancun Resort was perfect with it's fantastic swimming area and kids area/activities during the day on location, then the free shuttle to the strip for when we wanted to go to events there. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and well stocked, and the location was close to the airport, grocery stores, restaurants, fast food places, discount stores, and pharmacies if you have a rental car.

KIMBERLY May 9, 2008
Everything was just great and we enjoyed the stay there the entire time. The best thing was not having to deal with the ... gambling issue when you walked out of your room. We enjoyed the family atmosphere and not dealing with the intoxicated people like we saw at other places in the lobbies. It was the best experience we have ever had and trust me when we go back we will do our best to try and stay there again. It was the most pleasant experience we've had and have told all of our friends to go and try and stay at the Cancun Resort.

The Cancun resort was a great surprise for us. We walked in to find a four seat dining area, fully loaded kitchen, a ... separate tv area with balcony, and bathroom (Also can be used as a bedroom), and a large bedroom with another bathroom attatched. Across the street was a grocery store, with everything you could need. I loved the fact I could buy grocerys and eat breakfast and lunch in the room, and splurge on a great dinner. The bus line is across the street, and will take you to the strip, 24/7. Would return here next time I visit Vegas!
