The keynote of the international is the feeling of grown-up glamour and sophistication that reigned throughout the Kennedy years – the golden age of All-American-Style; full of promise and ambition. This is not Austin Powers or Warhol Pop. Think Babe Paley; think dressed up, crisp clothed jet-setters and kings of commerce enjoying a classic champagne cocktail, nibbling an elegant snack, while engaging in intense flirtation and conversation into the wee hours – after all one can always stay over.
No. 10 Thomas offers Contemporary American cuisine and the perfect ambience for any meal. Watch the “Early birds” at Logan Circle in the morning, sunbathers taking a dip in our pool after lunch, or the sunset over National City Christian Church in the evening. Sip a Glass of Champagne or enjoy a cocktail by candle light on our Poolside terrace and make a wish while counting the shooting stars over Washington D.C.

Great Location for the price
Ranga Dec 3, 2009
Superb Location. I walked to most of the main attractions in 15 minutes and enjoyed my visit to washington primarily due to ... this hotel location. For the money you pay the returns one get to me appeared excellent. The hotel is clean, rooms are sufficiently big and tidy and bathrooms are clean. The hotel front reception area appeared dull and very unattractive

U street is the happening new spot in town. It is a combination of nightclubs, theaters, and restaurants mostly aimed at the 35 and younger crowd.

Make sure you bring comfortable shoes. There is lots of ground to cover when you visit Washington.Washington is a wonderful city to visit with your family. There is an astronomical amount of things to enjoy. The museums are terrific! Also make sure you bring some food from home, it can be very expensive to feed a family while visiting.

Outstanding deal
Tim Nov 25, 2009
We were there strictly for vacation. While not perfect, the location is very good. It was about a 6 block walk (downhill) to ... the Metro station. There were always cabs available if we wanted one. The hotel restaurant was very good - not a huge menu - and worked out great when the weather turned against us. There is a growing area for restaurants, shops, and a Whole Foods just about 4 blocks away on P street. The staff could not have been nicer, especially in the restaurant. The bar is quiet but well appointed. The hotel is apparently into a floor-by-floor renovation. While I did not see the new rooms myself, my wife said that they were very nice. If you are the kind of person who needs to be surrounded by fabulous decor and trendy rooms, this may not be for you however. The lobby area, while absolutely spotless, was a stylistic mish-mash from several different decades. The rooms, again, absolutely spotless, were not overly large and had some unusual decorating choices. But this was all very minor to me. Cleanliness and good service are what I need from a hotel and this one had both. There is a fitness center but I did not partake. There is a large pool with a huge surrounding deck area but it was closed for the season.

Great Stay
Accidental Tourist Nov 19, 2009
I could not have been more pleasantly surprised with my stay at the Washington Plaza. The room was very clean, all ... furnishings were in good shape and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The location could not be better and the price was very reasonable. The exterior of the hotel is a little dated but don't let that fool you, the lobby and the rooms have been recently renovated and they are done in very good taste. I did not eat at the hotel's restaurant because there ares o many options nearby.

make sure to call the restaurants first, in DC is not like other world cities that you can eat dinner at 10 or 11pm. For example Secquoias closes the kitchen at 9pm!!! Amazing.

Traveller Oct 27, 2009
The hotel is in a good location for sightseeing. However I had one bad event. When I received our bill, we were charged for ... a movie when we never left the free TV menu. I had to ask to talk to the manager to get the fee reversed. The staff person kept saying that ESPN was extra(we did watch the Eagles/Redskins game, but it was on the free TV menu.

A great place with a couple downsides
Hannah Banana Oct 13, 2009
The hotel was in the perfect location for our trip. We were able to walk to all of our destinations. However, I found out on ... Sunday night when we were leaving just how much it cost us to park and walk the entire time. I didn't know anything about parking fees for the hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly, which was great because we had many questions about the area. It would have been nice to have had a continental breakfast offered, but there wasn't one. The hotel was beautiful, though. The beds were SO comfortable and the whole place was clean and nice to look at.

Washington Monument Tickets - rather than get up very early, stand in line for 1-2 hours to purchase them (and quite possibly miss out), go online and order them for next day at time slot you want and then pickup at will-call. verrryyyy nice.
