Pretty stay at the Maui Seaside Hotel
Frequent Hawaiian travel Nov 10, 2009
This is a pretty good little hotel in the central part of Maui. I had been to Maui before and was looking for somewhere in ... the central part to stay for a night with my girlfriend who was visiting the island for the first. It is basic with little frills but it was quiet, located close to restaurants, and was within our budget. I'd stay there again.

The Maui Mall is very close to the Hotel. We found everything we needed from the Maui Mall.
--Alan, Toronto, Canada Nov 8, 2009
Mall about 15 minutes walk. Prices about the same as similar stores around the island. For better or worse, it's not Ala Moana or Waikiki, with all it's high-end gucci, etc.
--wander & wait, Milwaukee Oct 28, 2009
Zip line is a must, as well as the snorkeling to Molikini Caldera. On the Road to Hana you must stop at the Hana Lava Tube. It is a cave that will take 30-40 minutes to walk. Your given a bright flashlight and your free to explore on your own. Frequent signs explain geological features. Small beach behind hotel is good for an evening swim or walk.

Great location and price
Alan Nov 8, 2009
I went to Maui for family vacation. Maui Seaside Hotel has a great combination of its location and price, close to the Maui ... Mall, Airport and major streets/highways. Easy to access everywhere - we went to Hana and Haleakala National Park. Its parking lot is little crowded, but it was still ok to find a place in the night. I would like to stay there again next time.

this hotel was chosen for its proximity to the Kahului airport, and because our 1st choice was not available when we wanted. ... The hotel was clean, neat, and comfortable. We were delighted to find we were right on the bay, and could listen to the surf and watch paddle-boarders early each morning. The restaurant affiliated with the property truly displayed the "Aloha spirit", and offered great service as well as great food.Only 2 drawbacks: additional cost for parking and Internet service that were a "surprise".

Looks great for families with the general courtyard next to pool & beach only steps away. However, it's not the beach you ... want when you think of Maui for a vacation. It's enclosed within the port-like walls with sea-containers lined up in your view. The staff took really LONG time to check-in patrons. Shopping near-by, a few good restaurants, quaint local stores, etc.

"Would stay here again!"
Lisa Aug 23, 2009
Hotel located in busy area, but location is centralized for all Island activities. Pool and grounds are beautiful as well as ... the view of the Ocean and Island. Cruise ship docked at nearby harbor one night and it was a pleasant sight when lit up. Many people sat outside in the evening to enjoy breeze and view. Coffee available in lobby from 5AM-7AM only, but was empty by 6:40AM on a very busy morning. Next AM staff was prepared by providing more. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. Great value!

My stay at Maui Seaside Hotel
Mon Aug 4, 2009
I took a trip to Maui for a wedding. The location of the hotel was great, since the wedding was in Wailuku, just up the road. ... One of the things that my hotel room didn't have was a hairdryer. Most hotel rooms I stay in has one, so when staying at Maui Seaside again I will bring one. Overall, my stay was pleasant, with friendly staff and a clean room. I definitely will stay here again when going to Maui.

Unfortunately the thing I did not like is I had to pay to park my car at the hotel or I could park it in the lot next door. I ... also thought I paid for a Garden View...well you could see the garden over the parking lot. Also had to pay for the local phone calls. It was right on the ocean though..very nice.

Always a pleasure staying here
The Don Jul 13, 2009
This is the 2nd time I've stayed at this hotel. The staff is always friendly. The location is great because it's right on ... the beach and it's about 2 miles from the airport. It may not be "upscale" like the hotels in Ka'anapali, but it serves its purpose. It was a place to stay, it was right on the beach and there are places to eat there in the hotel and close by. If you're looking for a decent place to stay, this hotel can't be beat for the money. If you're looking for more upscale then this isn't the hotel for you.

Great for a night
Rainbow Brite Jun 26, 2009
My guy & I island-hopped to Maui just for two days-one night (June 21-22). The goal was to spend as little time in the hotel ... room as possible. The hotel was good. We were able to check into our room early, and got a free upgrade too. The room was clean & comfy, just nothing special. We didn't use the pool. Parking cost $5/night which was no problem, but the attached restaurant's customers took up all the spaces at night and we were stuck walking in the rain from the furthest possible space in the lot. Ruby's Diner (in the mall across the street) was great for breakfast, so we didn't bother trying the hotel's breakfast deal. Checkout was quick. It was a great visit to Maui, and we were glad to have saved money on the hotel room to put into kayaking & snorkeling in Makena Bay, and a little mini-golf in Wailuku.

Ruby's Diner in the mall across the street was fabulous! They prepared everything exactly the way we wanted it, with any substitutions we could come up with, and never gave so much as a hesitation when reassuring us that it was no problem. The food was delicious and the decor was so perfectly "diner" from the front doors to the vintage posters and everything in between. The staff even had the '50s style uniforms :)

Good Value at Maui Seaside

I went to attend festivities in Maui. I arrived from Asia with lots of laundry hoping I could have laundry service. I also ... needed to iron some clothes. As it turned out there was no laundry service and the only available iron and ironing board was in a common area near the reception. I had to go and find a laundry service which took more time to do than I preferred.

Our plan was to find a cheap place to stay for the night and spend days on different activities. This hotel offers very basic ... accommodation. Coffee is provided every morning from 5 to 7 AM. There is a small beach right there - perfect for short, relaxing walks. Staff was friendly - no problem there. There is a $5 a day parking fee and parking spots are really narrow - I mean REALLY NARROW! Location is good - close to nice shopping mall with Starbucks and some good restaurants. The restaurant by the hotel offers reasonable price for food and quality is OK. We ate there 4 times.

It seemed like most of our destinations were about a hour away, which was fine with us because the drive is beautiful no ... matter where you go. We appreciated being in a quieter location instead of a hotel row type setting. We made good use of the mini fridge, but would have really liked a microwave. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the property was quiet. It was the perfect place to unwind after a full day.

Iao Valley is a refreshing detour not far from the hotel. The lush landscape and cool streams seem like a jungle oasis, perfect for those days when you are sunned out!
