OK For Cruise Stay

We waited an hour from the time we checked in (4:30 in the afternoon) to get into our room. Some kind of housekeeping ... issues. The staff was handling it the best humor they could. The rooms are average and are okay for the price. the nicest suprise we had was the food in the on site restaurant. It was extremely good and very reasonably priced. One other comment: This hotel is very isolated. You cannot walk to shopping, drug stores, etc as there are none nearby.

I was treated very well by the hotel staff, from the counter people to the cleaning staff. Eneryone seemed polite and ... friendly. The pool was always cold, and not enough lounge chairs. but it was nice to be out by the pool in the sun. The food from the bar & grill, or the rest. was very expensive for what was offered. So I ordered from the kids menue and it was very large portions at a good price.

I chose this hotel because I've had good experience with Ramada in the past and it was close to the airport with a free ... shuttle. The shuttle service was great, but that was where anything great ended with this place. The place is old, there is no fridge or microwave in the room, heat/air conditioning is supplied by a floor unit (no central A/C), the beds are hard and the blankets thin. There's something wrong with the plumbing because when I took a shower the water would randomly come out of the shower head scalding hot. But maybe the most disturbing thing was the array of at least 10 feral cats that are apparently allowed to live around the pool area. There was cat feces in multiple areas around the pool patio and a strong scent of cat urine in the air. For all of this I had the privilege of handing them over $100. I would not recommend this hotel to an enemy.

I booked this hotel from a cruise in Miami and was impressed immediately by a young man that seems to do everything.He locked ... our luggage due to getting there early and took it to our room.He was soo friendly and helpful.We saw him watering plants,cleaning up the lobbby.He was a one man Master of all. The hotel had a real nice pub with good and reasonable food but the hotel's dinner restaurant was overprice and ran out of items on the menu.We were not impressed with the restaurant at all.The hotel did not have a gift shop and there were no stores within walking distance but the shuttle and service in general was fantastic.The room was extremely clean and comforable and the maid service brought extra towels without requests to do so.I thought this was very nice.I would stay there again as the price was right and it was a good place to stay.

Great for Cruisers

We stayed here the night before we left on our cruise.It was great for the price, but is definitely a "no frills" kind of ... place.The pool was nice though, and we ate a yummy dinner at the restaurant on site.The shuttle they provide to the cruise port is easily booked upon arrival and got us there without any problems.We would absolutely stay here again.

Pluses: Very near to airport, prompt and free shuttle service, free buffet breakfast, decent size rooms and bathrooms, ... wifi. Minuses: Noisy air conditioning unit, lackluster bar service. This is a small, no-frills motel which adequately met my needs for 2 nights accommodation near to the airport. Good for short 1-2 night stopovers. Got a great rate, so good value for money. There were families and singles enjoying the small pool/garden area. On site restaurant, bar and lounge.

Everything about the hotel is bad. There is nothing close to it. Its in a bad neighborhood and the holtel it self is very ... very dirty. The pictures that you see online are just to fool you. Don't go there!!!!HATED THE PLACE!!!!

Believe all of the bad reviews!!! This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel lobby and bar area smelled. ... The tiki bar was never open and the hotel rooms were worse than Motel 6. I got burned in the shower by the hot water, it would come on in spurts while you are taking a shower and it was scolding hot! This hotel isn't in walking distance of anything. I highly recomment the Ocean Sky Hotel & Resort, very nice! I would never stay at this hotel again.

If you are waiting for the shuttle to take you to the cruise port arrive early for the shuttle and wait outside with your bags ready. The shuttles are small and if everyone does not fit on the first shuttle you will have to wait for the next one.

The 95 and 595 will take you to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami Beach. You can get to the Everglades and Plantation by way of either of these freeways.

The Discovery Cruise Line is at Port Everglades and the shuttle is free to get there. The one day cruise to the Bahamas is a must if you will only be in Fort Lauderdale for a short stay.
