not impressed with the Westin
Mom on a getaway Oct 19, 2009
I stayed at the Westin because I wanted to be walking distance from all the action on Beale Street. For the price of the room ... I was not very impressed. There was a stain on the floor and the duvet on the bed did not have a crisp white look. After retuning to my room around 4:00a.m. it took security and staff over 45 minutes go get me inside the room. Not even the master key worked.[...]. By this time I wanted some sort of accomedation for the troubles since it will take days before this money will be placed back into my account and we had to lay on the couches in the lobby while waiting to get in the room. [...], the front desk guy didn't seem to be in the mood for accomedations. I told him that I felt if would be fair to accomedate me for the parking, which was almost $20.00 for one night, even after the sign upon enter the deck said $10.00. He reluctantly gave credit back for the parking, but had I not questioned him more he would have never told me that If I didn't get a parking pass before leaving the next day then I would have to pay the parking deck anyway. Loved the location, but that was about it the staff was not rude, but they were not sincere either. Will only stay at the Westin again if it is the last place to stay.

Wonderful hotel. Well done lobby and rooms. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. Great location next to Beale St. ... My only complaint is the $12 charge for wi-fi access. A level of this level should provide wi-fi access for its guests as an amenity.

Location was great for Beale Street. hotel staff were friendly and knowlegeable about Memphis. i visited the Civil Rights ... Museum. would have been great if there was a shuttle to the riverfront area. an ideal trip for me means limited need to rent a car. that is why location for me is very important.

Stay here when your in Memphis
Wacky Canadian traveler Aug 22, 2009
The hotel is less than a block away from Beale street so the music and atmosphere of Memphis is easy to get to. The valets ... really know their city. They gave great advice on where to eat, shop, and everything else. The front desk staff were friendly and made you feel that you were welcomed and they appreciated your business.

Not up to expectations
Too many ups and downs Aug 4, 2009
Great location across the street from the Rock & Roll Museum that has a free shuttle every hour that goes to Graceland and ... Sun Studio. The hotel only has 2 elevators one never worked the week we were there. The other we got trapped in for 10 minutes, after that it was down for 2 days, which left the service elevator. That meant long waits and full cars with staff trying to do their jobs with cleaning carts and equipment getting around the hotel. Not pleasant.

Great Hotel!
Ang Aug 3, 2009
This Hotel is in a great location for visiting Beale Street or anything downtown and just minutes from Graceland. The rooms ... were Beautiful great views of downtown and the staff members were GREAT. I didn't mind paying for the parking because I knew my car was being taken care of and never had to wait over 2 minutes to get my car when I needed it. The only negative comments I have is the breakfast buffet in the Sole restaurant inside the hotel is a little pricey for the choices you get and When checking out I had some erroneous charges on my bill from the beverage bar (that I never touched) but they took them right off. I will definetely stay here again when visiting Memphis.

Memphis Weekend at the Westin Beale St.
ShooneytheWeekendTraveler Aug 3, 2009
We had a great stay at the Westin Hotel on Beale Street. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. We had a great view of ... Beale Street from our corner room! We were in town for a wedding but did get to enjoy the activity and excitement of Beale Street during our free time! The customer service at the Westin was fabulous - everyone was super friendly and very helpful! Great staff, great location, and lovely hotel experience.

Beale Street @ it's BEST!
Sonic Jun 30, 2009
We went to Memphis to shop and visit the restaurants and attractions along Beale. The Westin was an easy walk to the National ... Civil Rights Museum, Memphis's oldest diner, and restaurants that have been featured on TV; and of course all the goodies ON Beale! The staff was so courteous, the parking was close by, and everything was comfortable and clean. I didn't have time to check out a pool or gym on site, but I was exceptionally pleased with the Orbitz price - I paid less than my friends who stayed at a lesser quality hotel in the vicinity! I can't wait to go back. I will stay at the Westin again.

By walking a few blocks you can enjoy some of the best of Memphis without the "Beale Street" prices. The city has a Trolly system, so don't let the walk keep you from exploring the area. You can try out Gus's World Famous Chicken; the Arcade -a diner in business since 1919 & my favorite: The Blue Monkey for spirits and delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere.

Went to Memphis to see "Wicked" and stayed at the Westin because of it's location. I read some of the reviews on the ... internet and saw some that weren't that good so was a little worried before the trip. Must say our stay at the hotel was excellent. The service was great and I would recommend the Westin to everyone interested in staying in Memphis.

Pleasant Stay at Westin Memphis
ATX35 Jun 22, 2009
Ask for a room that doesn't face Beale St. if you want a quiet stay. We accidentally booked a wheelchair accessible room, ... and when we asked for a regular room we were told there were none available. After getting to our room, we realized it was facing the back patio of a loud bar, and again asked to be moved. They moved us into a regular room (which they previously said was unavailable, hmmm . . . ) which was much quieter. Also, there were broken machines in the fitness center and there was some staining on the carpeting. The self-parking was a little bit of a hassle; it was not directly connected to the hotel and you had to get a voucher from the valet station every time you wanted to leave. Overall though, the stay was pleasant. The front desk staff were the least friendly and accommodating of all of the staff we encountered. Housekeeping was thorough and friendly and the valets were helpful.
