Great Hotel! Close to shops and warfield
J & J Nov 22, 2009
Pros: Modern decor, great location, friendly service staff. All of the high-end stores are right outside the door as well as ... many restaurants. We selected the hotel since it was VERY close to the Warfield. Cons: parking fees were extreme (almost half of what we even paid for our room!), coffee in the room was bad (they should have a starbucks or peets in the hotel or offer as their coffee for guests), and they didn't have enough sugar, cream, etc. No fridge in the room :(

Lobby was very busy and the ambient music was loud (same in elevators). I wanted a restful experience after a long day of ... work. The neighborhood adjacent to the hotel is not good. One restaurant manager advised me to stay on one side the street (unsavory characters on the other side). However, the room was a nice size, and the bed was very nice.

Lots of very good Pakistani/Indian restaurants in walking distance. If you're there for shopping in Union Sq, it's right there. Bart and Muni are within spitting distance.

Excellent Location & Service
BavariaFreak Sep 29, 2009
We made a last minute reservation through a hotel service and even though they didn't have confirmation they had someone dig ... through the incoming FAXes to make sure they got it - we waited just a few minutes. From then on every staff member we met was friendly and helpful, making sure we were getting to where we needed to go and had all the information required. For example the door man took care of retrieving the car while we were picking up our bags from the concierge and we didn't have to wait at all. Meanwhile he asked about our experience in San Francisco and gave perfect directions for getting to our next stop, the Golden Gate Bridge. We've stayed here before and will definitely stay here again!

Right next to the Powell Bart station, large room - clean, quiet, modern, LCD TV, comfortable bed. I honestly can't think of ... anything I'd complain about.

Good side -Bell [...] very helpful, we had never used Muni before and wanted to get to the SF Giants game, he detailed the ... trip for us, where to go to catch tram, how to pay, what to do, and how to return. He answered all our questions and concerns in a very friendly and helpful manor. Bad side - We got there at check in time (3:00) they did not have a room ready for us. We needed to put on warmer cloths and were told our room would not be ready until 4:30 or so.... I pleeded and was given a smoking room which smelled like a stale ash tray. Also you better bring your own bath sopa, they had one bar about the seze of a quartr.

Nice hotel experience

Staff was helpful with upgrading room, fixing lights, and delivering rollaway. Flat-screen TV isn't great w/o HD. I wish ... higher-end hotels wouldn't gouge for internet - I used my cell service instead. Windows were supposed to be cleaned but weren't - did affect view. Elevators were FAST! Bathrooms were well appointed. Overall, very nice experience.

There are one or two corner markets nearby where you can buy provisions. We shopped at one after midnight when the restaurants were closed.

Great but not as I expected.

The location was wonderful. We took the BART (subway) from the airport, and were able to get extremely close to the hotel. ... The staff was very accomodating in that we arrived at 8:00 a.m. and we were called about 2 hours later with a room available for early check-in. The only thing I was disappointed in was the pictures on the internet were a bit deceiving. We stayed in a recently renovated room which had a view. It did not appear to have been that renovated. The grout in the bathroom was a moldy and the decor appeared to be a bit dated. The linens were clean however. We also had a bit of a hard time enjoying the view as the windows were dirty!!

Very Clean and Well appointed
Katie Rocker Chic Jul 10, 2009
We attended a concert at the Warfield which was only about a 5 minute walk away. Also there was great shopping within ... walking distance. When we checked in, we were upgraded to a room with a great view (definitely get a room with a view). The room, especially the bathroom, was very clean and up-to-date. The bed was ultra comfortable. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the toilet malfunctioned on the first flush (however they repaired it immediately). In addition, adjusting the shower temperature and pressure took some time to figure out. Also, the parking fee was outrageous. So, we parked at a garage which was located only 1/2 block away (on Ellis) for half the price. I would definitely stay here again next time I go to a concert and/or shopping.
