Hotel was in a good location, with free parking and WiFi. The rooms have a microwave and a fridge which is nice if you ... staying a couple of nights. But there was hair in the bed and a spot on my towel. Not an extremely clean motel. But, better then some others.

The parking spaces are just for compact size cars. Don't be mistaken, I have driven in many cosmopolitan all over the world: ... London, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, etc. I know how to park cars in those tiny spaces and tight spots. You need motorcycles at Nob Hill Motor(cycle) Inns. If the next car is not parked straight you need to pray that you have enough room to get out of the car. I finally asked the manager I needed to park at the disabled parking, he reluctantly said for one time only. Manager said 20 minutes walk to Fisherman Wharf. It was a 15 minutes, drive. Refrigerator stinks. No computer to print boarding pass. Female manager got short temper when asked her to print it. Their attitude is "why are you bothering us?" There isn't much in the area, you need a car. Their "high speed" internet is actually "slow speed" even if it is available and connected, occasionally.

Jef Nov 16, 2009
VERY VERY VERY narrow parking spaces .. I had a sedan and I wasn't able to open my car doors when I park. I ended up parking ... on the handicap spot. if you got a truck, it will be a nightmare for you. Also, the old man at the front desk he is SO MEAN!! when I first came and said good morning, he just stared at me and asked for my id then gave me the keys without saying ANY single word!! I felt so bad and it wasn't a good start. The lady is awesome though.

This is a very comfortable very clean motel. The location is good close to the cable cars. The staff couldn't have been ... more friendly and helpful. We had to leave for the airport during a storm when taxies are very busy taking the local people to work. But the gal worked her magic and got a taxie so we were able to leave right on time. No stress. I would highly recommend this hotel.

highly recommend this place to anybody. i was looking for a place that had free parking that wasnt dumpy(most are) and wasnt ... in a touristy or crummy location, alot of nice hotels in san francisco are in unattractive areas. this place had it all free parking, a very clean room that was well kept/maintained. no threadbare carpets or chipping paint or questionable cleanliness. even the parking garage was clean. the only complaint was the tv/cable etc, but honestly you shouldnt be watching tv if you are in san francisco.

Great experience at Nob Hill
jt Sep 11, 2009
The accommodations were quite satisfactory, clean and spacious. The location worked for us, away from the hubbub of downtown ... and a pleasant place to retreat to. Having a car made travel around the city more convenient with the added plus of free parking at the hotel (although we did walk to the cable car for the experience). Hotel price was good, fair and reasonable.

We chose this hotel based on the other [...] ratings and the price. When we arrived the owner and his wife seemed less than ... pleasant and would not give me any additional discount for being a AAA member (as their sign lists. The walk was approx 2 miles from the Alcatraz Pier tour and there were some steep hills involved. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we entered the room. The room was very attractive, had two Queen size beds, a long couch that opens into a bed and a small fridge and microwave. If I had to do it again I would stay there again! The owners were much more friendly upon check out (maybe they were having a bad day origionally). Overall, very happy!

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in San Francisco. It was in an excellent spot between Union Square, ... Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown, and although I was only there for a day we were able to do all of them. I also got up early in the morning to go running and it was close enough to chose an area to see without all the people. I stayed with a friend and the bed was huge, there was a refrigerator, and microwave, parking and the internet. I have never found a cheaper or better hotel to stay at in San Fran!

Small hotel, with limited parking (more rooms than parking spaces). Rooms were great, very clean, well maintained. Free ... WiFi. The couple who manage the hotel are it's greatest asset. Patient with each and every guest, they took their time to make you feel welcome. Next time we're in San Francisco, we're heading here first!

First time traveler to S.F. This hotel/motel was easy to find and convient to all attractions. I was visiting the UCSF ... Medical center which was approx 3 miles away. The reasonable price and mom/pop operation of this establishment stood out. After a day of visiting different aeas, the free parking really became a major plus.

Walgreens is around the corner on Polk St. (open until 12am) to stock up on food items. There's a nice Cheese Please deli on the corner of Pacifica and Polk for bread, cheese, wine and deli items for lunch. Starbucks is also around the corner (not a moneysaver!) and a restaurant called Polkers had good burgers and was reasonable.
