Great Trip! Amazing Ambiance!
KY Visitor Aug 18, 2009
We were looking for a great place to relax during the day and enjoy the nightlife during the evening. This resort was a ... great balance. It has lush landscaping, lakes, wild life and is very close to the beach. The resort also offers free golf cart tranportation to the beach for the visitors' convenience. We stayed at a two bedroom villa on the lake side and we were very impressed with the size. The cabinets and appliances were a little out dated, but flowed well with the beachy decor. This resort is a great value for the money and just 20 minutes from Myrtle Beach. For those looking for a great night out closer to the resort, check out Murrell's Inlet. It is only 10 minutes away ($23 taxi ride) and offers affordable beachfront dining and open air bars. This resort is great for couples and families.

Nice Place
Couple Trip Jul 6, 2009
The hotel was very nice. It has a alligator that was verying entertaining to me and my husband. Everything was great except ... the location of the beach. We had to take the shutter bus to the beach, it was a nice little walk if the shutter was not open. Another thing I stayed at the hotel for the spa and it was closed due to the holiday :-(! But great room, it was like a little apartment, a lot of space!!!!! :-)

Well Worth It!
CornerRound Jun 8, 2009
This was an excellent alternative to staying in Myrtle Beach. The quiet town and excellent location make this a place that ... we will recommend to many of our friends. The oceanfront room that we had was comfortable and met our needs, although the amenities were a bit outdated. We didnt stay in the hotel room much, but the balcony overlooking the pool and the pristine beach made it a memorable experience.

Prossers BBQ, RIver City Cafe, or Nance's in Myrrels Inlet for great casual food! Oh, and dont forget the Litchfield Diner for homecooked breakfast or lunch!

Terrible service
Washington, DC May 21, 2009
The property is nice, but the service was just terrible. It took 25 minutes to check in--they couldn't figure out my booking ... through Orbits. It took four phone calls to extend my stay an extra day. The reception gave the wrong directions to the tennis courts and then the security guard yelled at me that I wasn't allowed in. The bartender was unpleasant. The final straw was on check out -- my room keycard wouldn't let me in and the front desk couldn't figure out how to issue another keycard. So it took ANOTHER 25 minutes to get me back into my room. Any one of these details should have been easy to fix for a well-run resort. Unfortunately, this is not a well run resort.

Great Weekend
Picky traveler Apr 22, 2009
We have stayed several times at Litchfield and Golf Resort and have always had a good experience. This last time we stayed in ... Emerald Greens in a 2 bedroom condo on the golf course. Very nice. Our son lives in Pawleys Island so we come from Ohio several times a year and usually bring different family members with us each time.

We thought we were gonna ...
Kathy Jun 21, 2007
We thought we were gonna be on the beach, we were not, we were across the street, we were under the impression when we got to ... the beach that the chairs would be free for guests of the hotel/resort....they were not. We were woke up every morning by 6:30 to the sounds of a lawn mower out on the golf greens. It was ridiculous!

Spare room
Lee Apr 29, 2007
The resort was pretty and well maintained as was the room and we enjoyed using the oceanside accommodations. The staff was ... professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We were renting a spare bedroom with a single door separation that allowed not only light but left us aware of every detail the other couple discussed along with the crying child and all attempts to quiet him and the other children. Upon realizing we could hear their conversations, we assumed that they could hear ours so every attempt was made with the bathroom fan, AC running, and TV volume to eliminate any of our conversations being heard. Maid service was overzealous and entered the room despite the Do Not Disturb sign and we were not pleased with that either. But a 20% refund from the management was at least an effort on their part to satisfy our displeasure.
