"Better than the Values!!"
Disney Nut Dec 10, 2009
THE NOT SO GOOD: Our room was a LONG way from the check-in desk. (I dont know if that was because of the rate we got or ... not.) We could have rode from the 1st shuttle stop to the closest stop to our room but the front desk did not tell us that so we walked more than necessary. We had a long airport walk and the upcoming night required alot of walking too. THE GOOD: This Disney hotel has queen beds instead of the doubles in the value resorts!! The sheets and towels could be a little better grade though (toilet paper too!!). Also had a new flat-screen TV and a frig. and coffeepot/coffee which the value resorts do not have. We thought it was worth the extra $30 we paid over the value rate. Would stay here again if we were able to get the same rate again. I also think the buses were not as crowded. We never had to stand on the buses the 2 days we rode them here.

Use the bus for the parks.By doing this you avoid the parking lot tram and the monorail. It drops you off at the entrance of ... the parks. Plus you save 14.00 dollars a day. Use fastpass for the most popular rides. Take advantage of the extended park hours.(For Disney hotel guest only)Disney food is overpriced and not that good. Avoid peak days and times.(Saturdays, it's a zoo!) Go to Magic Kingdom only at night. Soaring, Tower of Terror, Rock and Roll coaster, Lion King Show, American Idol Experence are a must do.

Good visit to the Coronado Springs. This was our third visit to this hotel. This was also longest walk from the hotel lobby ... to our room -- took us 20 minutes to walk it --- the hotel is huge and spread out. Also, the buses to and from the parks to this hotel are sporatic.

Orlando not for buisness trips!
aero-mech grad Nov 22, 2009
The hotel staff were great, though check in was slow. Some of that was probably because one of the reservations had been ... made incorrectly and there was a bunch of members of the group saying "no, I don't want to be near other memebers of the group." There was only one resurant within the hotel when it seemed like they should have two with the convention center. The resurant wasn't that great, the breakfast shop was decent though pricy! I spent most of my time at Disney's Dalfin Hotel, which was a complete disaster!

My husband and I never took a honeymoon in May when we got married for various reasons. This was it for us, 6 months later. ... It was a lovely hotel, very nice landscaping and beautiful surroundings. The rooms were a bit dark for my taste, heavy wood decor, and no chairs to sit in albeit a desk chair. But it was comfortable and a refrigerator was included. The only complaint is that there is no direct access to areas outside Disney. We wanted to get some groceries and had to take a cab. A shuttle would have been appreciated. If you have ever eaten at disney parks/hotels, you know it can be very expensive. we wanted to get some easy snacks and drinks off site but it cost $20 in cab fare. Other than that it was very restful and nice.
Traveler type: Couples
take the disney bus to downtown disney and grab a cab to take you to the nearest grocery store and buy your snacks and beverages. otherwise if you take a cab from the hotel and it will cost alot!

My husband and I went to celebrate our honeymoon. We were extremely pleased with the hotel and the staff. The resort and the ... grounds are absolutely beautiful! I only wished that a bigger deal had been made about the fact that we were "Honeymooning"...upon check-in we received pins to wear with a picture of Cinderella and Prince Charming that read "Just Married", cute, but we ran into other Newlyweds throughout the parks that had Minnie eared veils and Mickey eared top hats and they said that their hotels had surprised them in their rooms upon arrival. Some even got chocolate covered strawberries and wine, as well!

Mid Quality Room but plenty of extras
shoobacat Sep 18, 2009
This is a large hotel, so if you book more than one room call the hotel and request that your rooms be in the same building. ... There is no valet parking, so plan on walking about 1/4 mile to registration from the parking lot. The rooms are comfortable and the doors in the back of the room close for privacy when changing or waking early. Wifi is available in the lobby and internet service is an extra charge. The pools are fantastic, and you can easily skip the park and spend the day at the hotel. The hotel has several places to eat, from pool side snack bar to an upscale Mayan Restaurant (about $50 per person without liquor). Dress is resort casual. I recommend eating off property at "Disney Pleasure Island" or "Disney Downtown" both have shops restaurants. The hotel offer bus transport to every Disney attraction, and as a bonus for staying at a Disney property - each day one park opens early or stays open an extra 3 hours for people with Disney Resort Room Keys. You can have your Disney tickets attached to your room key electronically by the concierge, that way all you need to take to the park is your ID and room key. The room key acts as a credit card as well at all Disney properties. While this isn't a five star hotel, the perks you get make the cost worthwhile. The additional park hours, easy bus service to all attractions, and a multi use room key, and the theme park style pool (think Disney does Spa Atlantis) all make this a great place to stay. I'm disabled but don't use a wheelchair so getting to and from check in was difficult, and the trek to and from the room was a small hike. So if you have health issues that limit your walking, rent a wheel chair during check in.
Traveler type: Family
Try Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island on the night you check in, if you're not at the parks. There is food and entertainment. You can easily spend a day walking around these free attractions. The pool at the hotel is a Disney version of Spa Atlantis, so the kids will have a great time at the pool, and you can lounge or visit the pool side bar.

I know people need to see The Magic Kingdom, but it's mostly screaming kids who are just miserable because they're hot, in long lines and sometimes afraid of the characters. Make sure your kid has lots of liquid, snacks and some kind of fan, sun block, etc. I personally like to bring the kids to Epcot. But I think one day in Magic Kingdom is more than enough time.

If you're staying for a long time, request a room close to the main building. This resort is REALLY spread out, and if you don't have your own car, it would be quite a hike from some of the buildings that are further out to the main building, which has the food court and other amenities.
