When I checked in the lady at the front warned us that the hotel is a bit old, but it's classic. That made me a little ... nervous to see our "Village" room. We ended up in a very tastefully decorated room with a beautiful view of the ocean. Though it wasn't technically an ocean view room there were still outstanding views from our window of all of Laguna Beach! It was nice and quiet, we were even able to get some alone time down on the beach. I could not have asked for a more perfect deal. It is also walking distance from Main beach which is very convenient. We didn't move our car or worry about parking the whole time we were there. LOVED IT.

Steve Sep 19, 2009
The motel is very old and only updates have been to the paint. Rooms are very small and beds are very hard. I was there for 5 ... nights and never had a good nights sleep. Backaches will happen!! The most disgusting thing is parking is not included, which is 12$ per night and tax of 1.44$ per night on it. TV's are very old and sliding balcony doors are original and don't slide. This motel should be at Motel 6 pricing!!! The only quality I liked was the proximity to the beach. We were on the west side of PCH. I would try Blue Luguna Hotel 1 block to south if I ever come back to California. Beautiful State..Horrible taxation.

we are from San Diego and we wanted to do a mini honeymoon. we chose this hotel cause we wanted to be right on the beach and ... that is exactly where this hotel is located. We stayed in the Ocean Front King Delux, it includes a kitchen which is perfect for cooking, there is a Ralphs right across the street. when you stay here, do whatever you can to stay in the Ocean Front Rooms.. they are so worth the money. The balcony is very large, we brought our dining room table out and ate breakfest each morning outside on the balcony. Also the best part about it, is it is pet friendly! we brought our dog on our honeymoon with us!! but make sure you check the beach dog rules. You can walk to everything, shops, restraunts, to town.... This place is a MUST Stay for the location and the cost. We are planning on going back in the next few weeks!

THEY PROVIDE BEACH CHAIRS - UMBRELLAS-& TOWELS. NOW THE TOWEL THING COULD BE A LITTLE BETTER-- THE BEACH TOWELS WERE CRACKER SIZE-- SO BRING SOME OF YOUR OWN TOWELS FOR THE BEACH.. THIS PLACE IS IN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE MAIN SHOPPING & DINING AREA!!! THERE ARE 2 POOLS & AN AWESOME HOT!! JACUZZI!!!! ALL VERY CLEAN!! YOU HAVE TO PAY $12 A DAY FOR PARKING BUT NOT A WORRY-- I KNEW MY CAR WAS SAFE!! I WILL RETURN TO THIS HOTEL ANYTIME-- WHY PAY $400 A NIGHT & BE AROUND SNOBBY PEOPLE!!

Hotel almost like Motel 6. We got terrible basement-garage??? room, door from swimming pool (village room, nr 28). No ... breeze, no ocean sounds. Good location but everything is in your face - just there (people, street, parkings, fast food restaurants). Not a good place with toddler. Tiny restaurants, no high chairs, no AC, not easy to go shopping with a stroller. Take your own beach umbrella and chair with you (very limited)

JT Aug 10, 2009
The only plus about this place was that it was right next door to The Beach House - an excellent restaurant! Both rooms had ... tv's that didn't work. The rooms are ugly and look like a $49 motel room when the actual cost was almost $300 per night!! Parking lot is difficult to get into - almost impossible with a big car!!

A few steps to the ocean, hotel is right on the sand...no street to cross! Nice beach and they supply towels and chairs. Lots ... of families there while we were there. Very convenient to Laguna Beach restaurants and attractions (art shows)...we walked everywhere or took free Laguna Beach Trolley type buses. We never moved car in four days we were there! Location is tops!! Spectacular views and good food at the Beach House and the Cliffs Restaurant, both within a block.

GREAT LOCATION!
Frequent Traveler Jul 29, 2009
WORD OF ADVICE - spend the extra money and get the ocean front room. 85% of the hotel is non-ocean front "motel" type ... rooms. You may as well stay across the street at the Holiday Inn if you choose one of these rooms. When we checked in, we heard several people complaining about the location of their room and one person even complained because they thought ocean view meant ocean front. They tried desperately to upgrade but all the ocean front rooms were taken - definitely the draw for this hotel. The ocean front rooms not only overlook the water, when the tide comes in your balcony is actually over the water. Easy access to the water and absolutely gorgeous sunset views.

This hotel is next to everything you need. Located within one block is a full service grocery store, Taco Bell, KFC, board rentals, shopping, restaurants, etc. Rooms have small fridge so when you arrive, go across to store and stock up on water, soft drinks, beer, wine, etc. Load up a cooler later and head downstairs to beach.

Perfect Romantic Getaway
Pacific Edge Hotel Jul 21, 2009
We loved staying at this hotel and can't wait to go back! We stayed here for our 1st Anniversary in which we upgraded to an ... Ocean View room. Best decision ever! We stayed in the Reef tower in one of the lower rooms right next to the water. The staff wasn't kidding when they said any closer - we would be wet. The waves crashed right by our room and we could hear the ocean all night as we slept. The pictures on the website of the rooms are very accurate to what the ocean view rooms look like. Beautiful views. It would have been nice to have a bigger shower, but it was just the same type of bath/shower in any other hotel. And there is a $12 mandatory parking fee.
Traveler type: Couples
There are some great restaurants around with in walking distance. (Actually anything you want to do is within walking distance). We loved the Cliff Restaurant which over looks the ocean and the loco taco which is across the street. The hotel key card gives you discounts on some restaurants and shops around.

The location of the hotel can't be beat - it is on the ocean and a block or so from downtown Laguna. The room we stayed in ... (75) was small but from the doorway we could see the ocean. Inside the room it had a door to join it to the room in front of it. The door didn't fit very well & we could see sunlight coming from the other room and could hear everything that the other people were saying. Our air conditioner didn't work, but when we told the front desk they had it fixed right away. The carpet smelled musty. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate. The closet didn't have doors on it. There was a small refrigerator in the room. The beach towels were the size of dish towels - make sure to bring your own. There was an attendant on the beach who would set up beach chairs & umbrellas for you (nice). It is no Surf & Sand (more like a Motel 6) but it is 1/3 the cost. If you are a young family and have kids it is perfect.

Older place that could use a face lift but was OK for a beach location. Our balcony was right over the beach so the view was ... unbeatable. We ate some of our meals on our balcony because of the view and sound of the waves. Some of the doors stick so the sound of slamming doors did get to be a bit much. Over all a really nice experience.

After pre-paying entire bill 2 months in advance, they requested credit card upon check-in for "incidentals and PARKING at ... $12+tax/day" NO WHERE in our Orbitz contract is extra parking cost mentioned!!!We had called to indicate late arrival. Hotel is a complicated clumping of rooms on the Beach. After dumping us at a room that was NOT the contracted kitchenette it took over an hour to get the correct room and then more time for an engineer to drill a safety lock on the sliding door so we could enjoy the breezes and sounds in SAFETY(are we the only ones to come up with this novel concept?

We stayed at the Pacific Edge Hotel for a wedding. Both of my children came along. The location was great in the middle of ... town on the ocean. My husband and I stayed in a oceanfront room. We really like the price range of the rooms. Both my children stayed in their own room. The kids enjoyed the location and the pool. Also the convience of all the restraunts in the area.
