"Cheap" in every sense of the word..

Location is awesome, on Highway 192. Near all restaurants & stores. Old Town, similar to an amusement park is 2mins away. ... IHop and Walgreens are right next door. Magic Kingdom is less than 5mins away. However, Universal Studios and International Dr are further out-20mins. Hotel/rooms needs an ENTIRE renovation. It gave me the "itchies". I didn't want to touch anything in the room. The chairs had stains on them. Mattresses were old. TV reception was bad. Faucet was broken. Elevator was old and had a horrible smell. No internet service. I never felt comfortable in the room, it's way below standard. It's not even 1/2 way decent. Cheap, in every sense of the word!

Door had issue with stuck and hard to open. Lots of gap around the door easy access for insects. Had some ants crawling ... around sink area even in winter season imagine that in summer time. Floors were not clean and carpet worn out. Needs to remodel other than that it's all right.

nice and quiet...we always add an affordable hotel stay either before or after our stay at a Disney resort so we can take ... full advantage of that day in the area to take care of things outside the park such as shopping the outlets and this was a last minute booking that turned out great...parked right next to the room. very conveniently located near animal kingdom back entrance on sherbeth drive.

Worst experience ever. [...] we called twice on the way there to let them know that we would be arriving late. The employee ... said we were fine that both rooms were paid for. When we called back to get directions we waited on hold for a while to be told we needed to call back. We got directions from a different Howard Johnson's down the road. When we arrived, which was earlier then we had anticipated and told them when we called, we were notified that we had no rooms. They gave us a paper for a room 20 minuts away at an econo lodge. When we arrived there we were informed that Howard Johnson requested one room not two. We ended up waiting in their waiting room for an hour and a half waiting for Howard Johnson's to fax over the request for the second room. Needless to say we will NEVER use Howard Johnson's again.

My main priority was to enjoy Disney World in an efficient manner, and I was able to do it because of the free shutter and ... the hotel's location. The building needed maintance. But the object of the trip was very well acomplish and everybody was happy.

When we got to the hotel, we stood in line for 20 mins only to be sent to another line which was for the manager. We stood in ... line for another 20 mins. The manager said that the reservations system was down for 3wks and they overbooked 60 rooms. We were sent to the Quality Inn which was 10miles away. I didn't mind that we were sent somewhere else. I hated that we had to stand in line for almost an hour to let us know that we didn't have a room. The staff didn't even talk to us. It was like herding cattle. I was glad to get to the Quality Inn. They were very friendly and actually talked to us.

It wasn't a very pleasing experience. The service was too slow. We waited long for the check in after a long trip which was ... very frustrating. The rooms were not very comfortable. It was far from all the attractions especially when one doesn't have a car. The taxi costs would be higher than the hotel costs.

We went to the hotel at 2pm and they assured us that we had a reservation but our room wasn't ready. When we returned at 2 am ... we had no room so they sent us down the street to an inferior property for the first night. Then the 2nd day we had to go back and again were told that we had a room but it was not ready. When we returned at 2am we did get a room key but 5 other coulples were also overbooked. The room inself was adequate but the toiletries were not replaced after use. the bed sagged in the middle. Never did one staff member appologize for the situation.

We attended the Disney theme parks which were quite accessible from the hotel. The most frustrating aspect of the hotel was ... the internet service, which we could not access. The room and the beds were older and not cleaned very well--but servicable. Nearby restaurants provided a variety of meal opportunities.

We did many activities in the Orlando area. The staff at the hotel could better clean the rooms and make better beds. ... Rooms and bathrooms need to be renovated!!! Almost every room has a leak problem in the bathroom. We had to move from room to room to get a no problem room.

This hotel was in a great location to stay outside of Disney. There were many restaurants in close distance to the hotel. The ... room was fine. It was cleaned everyday. It was what I expected for the price that we paid. This is not a $100.00 a night hotel and you get what you pay for. We did not use the shuttle to Disney, but saw others using it.There was plenty of lighting at night so I felt safe. The hotel does offer kids eat free at IHOP, but you need to ask for a coupon before going. The pool was a favorite with the kids. Towels were available at the pool. My only small complaint was that we asked for a wake up call the day we left for 5AM. It never happened. There was an alarm in the room which we set so we were okay, but it could have been a disaster if we had not woke up.

This one is inexpensive,clean and very well located.Our trips to the theme parks were short.It was also close to a number of ... eateries.The pool is absolutely fabulous with a jacuzzi on the side and a smaller one for toddlers to splash in.We just came back to the hotel to crash in for the night. Ofcourse the staff could do better with the general way they handle customers.Yes,they could indeed be more forthcoming with information for the tourists instead of looking so sour all the time.But be that as it may,I would definitely go back if I wanted to save money.

the reservAtion was 12-27-09 at 4:00pm but we could not get there till about 1:00am 12-28-09 and were tired and ready for our ... room and the hotel gave the room away and said they did not have a room and it was for the next day but the celabration suits had room and it was nice and they were freindly and clean. This was probably the worst trip ever booked through [...]. To begin, when we arrived at the Howard Johnson, they had ... overbooked themselves and were sending people who had existing reservations with THEM to their sister hotel next door, the Roadway Inn. Not that Howard Johnsons are the classiest of hotels, but they are at least a standard above the Roadway Inn, in my experience. Given the discrepancy in quality, there is usually a discrepancy in price. I woke up the next day with pruritic bites all over my body from something in the sheets - something which has only happened to me a decade ago at a La Quinta. I am disgusted. [...]It was noisy, uncomfortable, unclean... etc. And the next day when it was time to go to the park, my fiance and I woke up EXHAUSTED. It was probably the (insert explicit synonym for fecal matter here)-iest trip to Disney EVER. And I only get 5 days of vacation a year for working over 60hrs a week. Glad [...] could assist Howard Johnson in screwing a few of those precious days up for me more... Even after trying to contact a hotel manager to no avail [...] Wonderful.

Downtown Disney House of Blues provides a casual, but AWESOME atmosphere for dining - with EXCELLENT food items. The best part is - if you're in the military or police or fire rescue, you get a 25% discount on all menu items excluding drinks. The service is extremely friendly, too. Definitely going back to House of Blues.

DO NOT ORDER THE PIZZA THAT IS ADVERTISED ON A PIECE OF PAPER INSIDE THE HOTEL ROOMS (USUALLY FOUND SLID UNDER THE DOORS OR INSERTED THROUGH THE HANDLES) -- THEY ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE HOTEL AND IT IS VERY POOR QUALITY PIZZA! Instead, order dominoes or just walk the distance to the nearby chain restaurants. You won't regret it!

Bennigan's is located about 2 blocks from the front door. Food was great, large portions and fair prices for a resort area. Bonus....Happy Hour 24/7 $2.00 domestic drafts and $3.00 margaritas!

This hotel is pretty easy to find from the airport (just watch the signs a little more closely than we did, as we went the wrong way coming off the highway.) and is about 10 minutes from the entrance to Disney. It's also not far away from Sea World (we stayed at this same hotel about 10 years prior and went to Sea World then). The route is pretty easy to get to the parks so that part of the write up on the web is right on.
