Very few amenities

My boyfriend and I decided to take a trip and we wanted something relaxing but also wanted to see the sights in the area. ... The location of this hotel was very convenient in regards to proximity of the airport which was nice for late flights. It was a fair distance from everything else though so if you are looking for a lot of night life and walking around town, you will need to drive there or take a cab. When we arrived at the hotel fairly late, we just wanted to get to bed. [...] For the money that you pay for this hotel, you should get more amenities than you do. There is no fridge or microwave, and they charge $18 per day for parking. All of these, in my mind, should be included in your hotel stay when you are paying for quality. The name though does not bring the quality that you think it should. Overall we had a fun time but we will definitely do more research next time and book things separately instead of as a package deal. The Westin is a nice place to stay if you are not at all concerned about money.

One night's stay at Westin LA airport

We were there for a specific Dr.s appt. at UCLA which we have every 3 to 6 mos. So a good nights rest is what we are seeking ... and this was provided. We had a minor problem with our original room but that was quickly rectified....staff and front desk were more than accommodating.

There was a happy hour appetizer which we enjoyed. The night we were there it was pasta with a delicious marinara sauce. Enough to make a meal for us.

Convenient, Free Shuttle to and from LAX

I stayed at the Westin because my conference was there. It found it quick and easy to find my way around the hotel and very ... convenient to stay there during the conference. The staff was lovely and the food in the cafe was quite nice. I also enjoyed the convenience of the free shuttle that travels at regular intervals to and from LAX.

The hotel lobby was first class. The room was large and clean. We flew in, checked into the hotel, went to the restaurant, ... went back to the room, changed clothes for a wedding, came back late that night, went to sleep and flew out the next morning. We did not get a chance to use the workout room or pool. It was an exceptionally nice hit and run visit.

Excellent hotel very convenient to LAX. Only negative is being assigned a room on the third floor directly adjacent to the ... fitness center. Very noisy because of people dropping free weights to the floor at 4:30 in the morning.

Good selection, but hotel needs updating. Also they are cutting back on staff and upgrades. What used to be a concierage ... level--which you still pay for--is now a computer center w/ little else. No food.

Hotel room was okay. But no hotel layout packet in the room. I was not even aware of there is a gym, heated pool?? TV is OLD ... (1900?).. and snowy screen, no cable, and I missed all the football games on Sunday and Monday. When ask to fix it they use "renovation" as the reason. But the flat panel TV's downstairs were perfect pictures. Charge $4.50 for a cup of tea.. and $4.50 for a candy bar in the room???!?!!? Internet is way too slow.. It took me 45 minutes to print out two airline tickets!!

When booking the reservation, I should have been made aware there was free hotel shuttle from and to the airport. Instead, I ... paid for a shuttle service that I ended up not needing and not using. The wake up call I asked for never came. Turned out neither of the two phones in the room worked, which i discovered when I tried to place a call the night before I left. This should have been discovered by hotel staff when (if) they tried to place a wake up call my first morning there. The room was a bit shabby...peeling edging on the counters, chipped edges and scratched surfaces. Other than that the hotel stay was fine. Comfortable bed and good maid service.
