quiet charm

we only had one day to play. the late check-in was a drag, but we spent the shortened afternoon in the pool, then walked ... down for a great fish dinner at bully's. 11 o'clock check out made it hard, but we went to the 15th street beach for some great playing in the waves.

This hotel is quite charming. Friendly stuff, good location, the rooms are quite big(we're able to easy fit an extra bed & ... playpen).The only thing to be aware is that it sits on a "cliff" and if you would want to walk to the beach be prepared to walk approx. 4miles-or to cross a railroad, hike down the cliff and enjoy the dog beach. Your best bet would be to get into your car, drive 5minutes, pay $8 to park across the street from the beach. This beach is great for families(restrooms and warm water showers!!!)

A Charming and Cozy Place

The inn is quaint, a vintage property in the midst of being redecorated. Thank God, it looks like they will keep the old time ... charm. Same type of decor but updated and freshened. The staff were wonderful. Not a lot of them, but helpful and attentive. Views on the west side are of the parking lot and the ocean. On the east side of the pool and garden. I would definitely stay here again.

The Clarion Carriage House Inn in Del Mar was very clean and comfortable. They served a delicious continental breakfast to ... your room and had pastries and tea in a library at 4 p.m. weekdays. From our outside balcony we could see the ocean just over the trees.The room was large and the king bed was very comfortable. We were within walking distance to shopping, great restaurants and the main beach.
