GREAT room rates! The front desk, bellmen, room service and restaurant selection were awesome. Some of the bartenders and ... wait staff were curt, almost downright rude. Service at "America" was very bad. Gallagher's! Must have dinner there. Delicious! The hotel was beautiful and the location was fabulous.

We spent our honeymoon at the Hotel. We were concerned about the roller coaster proximity but the "noise" was very minimal ... and disappeared. The layout of the lobby level is great with the streets and different food vendors. Once you get quickly acclimated, the hotel is very friendly. I would stay there again. We did notice that it is advantageous to check-in before Thursday evening when the weekend crowd arrives.

Great atmosphere, rooms just okay
Soccer mom Nov 24, 2009
Room was suppose to be newly remodeled but looked outdated. But it did have everything we needed and was always very clean. ... Wallpaper in hallway was peeling and mended with masking tape which just looked very cheesy for a 4 star hotel. The upside was it was the perfect place for our large group of mid 30 to 40 yr old couples. We had so many places to eat, drink and party right inside our hotel with all the bars and especially loved the piano bar. The little food places along the sidewalk were great especially the deli and it was nice not to see any chains. Some others in our group had to wait in long lines to check in and for elevators a couple times. Overall it was a great experience.

thirty somethings Nov 24, 2009
The hotel location was one of the best we could have picked. However, we stayed in the New Yorker Tower and our room was old ... and not very well cleaned. We had to constantly call the front desk for things like a remote control for the t.v. and extra towels and it took forever to get them. They also didn't have an indoor pool or hot tub, unless you wanted to pay extra for the spa. They also don't have a map of the hotel, so it is hard to find where things are at if you have never been there before. The night life in the hotel was excellent with great bars and clubs.

Great front desk staff and bell people. The America restaurant is open 24 hours and have a great staff. I love the location, ... it is near all the major attractions. Very family friendly. I'm a cyclist, and on two days I rented a bicycle from Las Vegas Cyclery on West Charleston Blvd., about 8-9 miles from the hotel. There's a great loop ride, about 33 miles, from the bike shop out to Red Rock Canyon and back. Rental cost is about $60 a day for a speedy carbon racing bike; they'll rent a helmet too [I brought my own]. If you don't bike, Red Rock and Valley of Fire State Park are worth the trip by car; both places also have good, easy day hikes.
