GREAT room rates! The front desk, bellmen, room service and restaurant selection were awesome. Some of the bartenders and ... wait staff were curt, almost downright rude. Service at "America" was very bad. Gallagher's! Must have dinner there. Delicious! The hotel was beautiful and the location was fabulous.

No A/C circulating, would have preferred more lighting in casino area. No lounge to enjoy live entertainment and dance. Did not offer buffets for lunch and dinner like other surrounding hotels. We spent our honeymoon at the Hotel. We were concerned about the roller coaster proximity but the "noise" was very minimal ... and disappeared. The layout of the lobby level is great with the streets and different food vendors. Once you get quickly acclimated, the hotel is very friendly. I would stay there again. We did notice that it is advantageous to check-in before Thursday evening when the weekend crowd arrives.

Great atmosphere, rooms just okay

Soccer mom Nov 24, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

Room was suppose to be newly remodeled but looked outdated. But it did have everything we needed and was always very clean. ... Wallpaper in hallway was peeling and mended with masking tape which just looked very cheesy for a 4 star hotel. The upside was it was the perfect place for our large group of mid 30 to 40 yr old couples. We had so many places to eat, drink and party right inside our hotel with all the bars and especially loved the piano bar. The little food places along the sidewalk were great especially the deli and it was nice not to see any chains. Some others in our group had to wait in long lines to check in and for elevators a couple times. Overall it was a great experience.

Girls Weekend

thirty somethings Nov 24, 2009

The hotel location was one of the best we could have picked. However, we stayed in the New Yorker Tower and our room was old ... and not very well cleaned. We had to constantly call the front desk for things like a remote control for the t.v. and extra towels and it took forever to get them. They also didn't have an indoor pool or hot tub, unless you wanted to pay extra for the spa. They also don't have a map of the hotel, so it is hard to find where things are at if you have never been there before. The night life in the hotel was excellent with great bars and clubs.

upgraded to the second form the bottom room, from the cheapest one, and it was very nice. Very clean and quiet. Excellent ... service and view from our room. Roller coaster is only ok. Am a coaster enthusiast and this one is average at best.

Good location average rooms

It was enjoyable but could have had better rooms they were very normal. I guess that is what you get at a 4 star in vegas ... nothing like the 5 star hotels but it was ok

Fairly decent hotel at reasonable price

Occasional Traveler Nov 17, 2009

Hotel price was decent but room wasn't as nice as we had expected. The room was clean but furnishings were average. The ... beds were small and not very comfortable. Housekeeping service was good. Compared to other hotels we've stayed at on the Vegas strip, this was at or below average. The restaurants/bars and casino were great though.

My stay at New York New York was enjoyable, however I didn't realize you could hear the roller coaster and screaming people ... from the rooms. The room was very clean and comfortable. It would have been great if there was a restaurant open all night (other than the hot dog stand!)

New York is big and friendly.

Great front desk staff and bell people. The America restaurant is open 24 hours and have a great staff. I love the location, ... it is near all the major attractions. Very family friendly. The bad TV and weak remote are a minus for family travelers. The batchroom was adequate, but definitely nothing to write home about. All in all, I will easily reccomend it to my friends.

Money savers tip, Short Walk

DO NOT stop on the street and talk to any of the solicitors offering free drink, show and dinner tickets. Tell them you're leaving that day and keep walking!

--Simpson4de, Indianapolis, IN Nov 27, 2009

Dining tip, Short Walk

Better at other hotels, ie Luxor and Tropicana offer all day buffets for one flat rate

--Sizz, MB Nov 26, 2009

Nightlife tip, In Hotel

Nightlife in hotel was great! Don't bother buying VIP passes for many hotels...waste of money!

--Francine, Ontario, Canada Nov 24, 2009

Coyote Ugly has happy hour from 6-9pm with 2 for 1 drinks and free shots for the ladies. The dualing pianos at Times Square is also a must see.

Money savers tip

Rent a car, cheaper than taxis. Everything is farther than it looks. Casino parking is free.

Bellagio "O" Show, best in Vegas and a MUST. Only few minutes to walk from the Hotel

Recreation/Attractions tip, Short Drive

I'm a cyclist, and on two days I rented a bicycle from Las Vegas Cyclery on West Charleston Blvd., about 8-9 miles from the hotel. There's a great loop ride, about 33 miles, from the bike shop out to Red Rock Canyon and back. Rental cost is about $60 a day for a speedy carbon racing bike; they'll rent a helmet too [I brought my own]. If you don't bike, Red Rock and Valley of Fire State Park are worth the trip by car; both places also have good, easy day hikes.

--Rissa, Elkhart, IN Nov 13, 2009

Dining tip, In Hotel

If you choose not to, you really dont have to leave this hotel to get all the things you want. It really has all kinds of stores, shopping, and food all in one place. As well as having a childrens area right in the casino that takes up a whole floor.

--Under enthused purchaser, palmdale, ca Nov 12, 2009

Money savers tip, In Hotel

When you check in ask if they have any free upgrades instead of paying for a better room in advance. We had three couples and all got upgraded. In this economy they are not selling out and glad to have you there! Also if you want to see a show use the cheap ticket booths along the strip the day of and save 30 - 40% on your tickets.

--Vegas First Timer, Cincinnati, OH Nov 11, 2009

Entertainment tip, Short Walk

Use the half price ticket shops located along the strip and it will save you some money.

The Premier Outlet Mall was THE GREATEST. That was the best part of the Vegas trip.
