My last trip to NYC was on business and I found the Wyngate Manhattan hotel to be perfect in so many ways; the location was ... great, near many sights and near the major subway lines, and the staff so helpful and professional. I will definitely be staying there again!

Traveling Queen Oct 14, 2009
The staff was friendly and helpful. They held our bags for a small fee the day we checked out. They also allowed us to check ... in at 1030 when we had taken an overnight flight to get in. We were able to nap in our room for no extra cost. The staff gave us locations and times for buses to get where we wanted to go in the city. There was a yummy restaurant connected to the hotel. The hotel was very clean. My only complaint was that the fan was inopperable in the bathroom. They turned all the fans off (to save money or something?) which made it muggy in the room after showers.

You might pay a little more being so close to Times Square, but it was such a nice, easy walk to everything, we saved time and money for transportation.

Very nice hotel and very convenient
Happy Wingater Oct 11, 2009
We were pleasantly surprised by this jewel of a hotel so near Times Square. It was very clean and the employees friendly and ... helpful. The adjoining restaurant had delicious food. The rooms were small, but we didn't care. We were just there to sleep. We were only a 5 minute walk to Times Square and felt very safe all the way. There were many restuarants and stores within a block, including Starbucks and Macy's department store. I definitely recommend this hotel. The only drawback? Our room was right next to the ice machine and that was a bit noisy.

Great place to stay
Fred Sep 28, 2009
Great location and very nice hotel. There was construction going on across the street and most of that clean up was done ... during the night, so there tended to be a lot of noise in the middle of the night. Once that's done though, I would think it would be very good. Also, the free breakfast wasn't always restocked, so you took your chance in getting some breakfast. But the staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms very nice.

ILBucki Sep 1, 2009
Hotel was one of the RARE ones where the occupants did not keep me awake. However, the noise outside was ridiculous! There ... is a brand new cafe that opened & the music was relentless!! Also demolition across the street. The hotel itself was fine -- clean, bigger rooms than what I expected for NY. It was clean. The desk people were nice. Breakfast was not so great. Eggs were horrid. Tiny muffins. Hated the sausage & bacon. Coffee upset my stomach. Skip it & go around the block for that.

If your looking for a motel with conveiniant location this is just fine, our room was large enough 2 double beds, we were on ... the back of the hotel so was quiet, great breakfasts, internet, only thing that was wrong was cell phone no reception but guess what the hotel provided free calls don't get any better than that, can highly recommend, if we come back will stay there again.

We came to the city after being in Long Island for a wedding. We wanted to see some friends and take in as many shows as ... possible. The location couldn't have been better. We were able to walk to everything. Also the hotel provided free hot breakfast, free wi-fi, a free fitness room (that we were too busy to use) and had a very friendly staff. I have already recommended it to several friends back home.

Dreadful Experience
NCM Jul 27, 2009
The experience was dreadful. The staff was unfriendly. The rooms were never cleaned before 3 p.m. Overall a very poor ... experience. In addition, the fact that it costs to store ones bags until the room was ready is reprehensible. It was my third week in a row staying in a hotel in the city and it was by far the poorest accomadations and services I had during my stays.

Right Where We Needed to BE!
Auntie Jane Jul 16, 2009
I was in NYC just two days (one night at Wingate) to show my nephews some of the city! The hotel was in a great location for ... us as we came in by Amtrak so just a block or so from Penn Sta... and we were going to catch a tour bus up at Times Sq... just 7 blocks! Easy walking .... but also wanted to meet someone for dinner(much further away) so caught the subway which was just down the street! So convenience was high on my list! And on top of that the front desk staff was very nice and the rooms were clean and very comfortable! The breakfast that's a part of the pkg was great! All of us had the belgium waffles and were ready for our day! Thanks! I will use this hotel again!

Daily parking fees are $44 per 24 hours. If you get your ticket validated at the hotel, you pay a little over $40 per day. ... The parking garage is a block down, and the service there are terrible. We had a rattle in the vent in our room...it was tolerable.

Ask for directions, subway numbers, etc before you leave the hotel - write it down, because NYC can be very confusing! Hotel staff was great about this.
--beach gal, Daytona Beach, FL Jun 28, 2009
If this your 1st time in the city I would recommend hop on/hop off. That would be the double-decker buses that take you around to various location in Manhattan they have stops where you can get off of the bus and catch it when your done. It runs very frequent. You can sign up with the guys standing on the corner with the yellow jackets.
