The Lodge in Williamsburg-Great Bargain
Love Williamsburg Nov 5, 2009
This hotel is first class. While the atmosphere is elegant, it is still comfortable. And it is a free and easy feeling ... where you as the guest are treated like family. All permissions are available and there is little restriction as you easily browse around the expansive gardens, buildings and conference areas. This is the closest thing you will find to home .

In the middle of all of the action, the Williamsburg Lodge is quiet and peaceful while at the same time a very short walk to the historic area, shopping and restaurants.

Great Vacation

The location on the edge of historic Williamsburg with a shuttle stop right outside the hotel can't be beat! You can buy the ... pass into the historic area at a discount and it's good for the length of your stay. You can also buy other tickets there. They are pros at explaining what's available where. My room was huge, gorgeous and comfortable. Free wi-fi was available everywhere. The bathroom was huge and the toiletries were from the Williamsburg spa. The staff was wonderful. When I decided to extend my stay, they took care of it at the same price. The food in the dining room was wonderful but a bit pricey. Do try some of the Virginia wines on the menu or in the bar.

The area shuttle will take you to the Visitors Center where you can hop on a bus to Jamestown or Yorktown at no charge. The Jamestown bus will also take you to the Jamestown Settlement. The bus is free but there are charges for both Jamestown and Jamestown Settlement. While at Jamestown, do take a ranger-led tour.

Disappointed
Traveler Aug 2, 2009
We were very disappointed with the accommodations. They just didn't measure up to a 4 star hotel. Our unit was on the far ... south side of the resort. There was no microwave or fridge as indicated on Orbitz. We were looking forward to period furnishings as advertised, however, it was pretty much a mixure of styles that didn't feel very "colonial". The bathroom seemed to be from the 80's, very much in need of updating. We wondered whether Orbitz customers were placed in the least desireable rooms. On the plus side was the size of the room and its convenient location. We saw a number of hotels along route 6 that looked very nice at almost half the price of the Lodge. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at this price.

Great outlet mall a short drive from the Park.

Be in 1775 at this great hotel
Lauri Jul 20, 2009
This is a fantastic hotel to jump into the Williamsburg experience. Close to everything and what great help in getting ... reservations to eat at the local taverns to live and eat as they did in 1775. The business conference areas were outstanding

Great location, but poor value
James Dec 29, 2008
Other than its location close to the historic district, the Williamsburg Lodge had little to suopport the price paid. The ... room was so small the cabinet with a vintage TV had to be placed by the side of the bed, resulting in slanted viewing...the small desk and table surfaces were mostly consumed by the ice bucket, coffee maker and literature...fortunately we didn't have much luggage, otherwsie it would have been difficult to get around it.

Colonial Splendor
Dana Jul 27, 2008
The Williamsburg Lodge is a vacation-friendly, family-friendly, elegant place to stay. The proximity to Colonial ... Williamsburg, and the option to charge activities in the area to your room is nice - We ate at a Tavern and charged it to our room before we went on a historic ghost tour. Additionally, the Lodge offers a wonderfully relaxing spa and great golfing :)
