the location was great. hotel also came with a full kitchen..which was great but everything was expensive, especially ... business center. i had to download and paid over $35. Most 4 star or even 3 star hotel give the internet service for free, at least for 15 minutes. Will not go back. The Pantages staff was very accommodating and went the extra mile to assist my girlfriend and me. They accessed city maps and ... tour information, arranged for a taxi to the airport, and were very helpful in general. The hotel is in a great location (right down the street from the square,) and the hotel itself is very cool looking.

Great Location, Mediocre Hotel and Staff
Dayne, Lucky Traveler Aug 12, 2009
The hotel is a great location near Eaton Centre. However, we had several problems that were not immediately corrected by ... staff, if corrected at all. The TV did not work, and they sent someone up 3 times but they could never get it right. However, they did not offer to bring us another TV or move to another room. Then, after the first 24 hours, the AC would not blow cold air and it was the hottest weekend in TO this year. They sent maintenance up 3 times over the course of a day and it still would not work. Finally, they moved us to another room around 6:30 that night. OR shall I say that brought us a key to another room. The bell man did not bring a cart or offer to move us. The continential breakfast was very small and NOT complimentary ($15pp). They do not tell you this until you have eaten a very expensive bagel. While the staff was somewhat friendly, they were not very helpful. Not many of them knew of local restaurants or clubs for a night out. The one jazz club we were sent to was a dump with plastic cups and diner seating in a very seedy part of town. Needless to say I would not stay there again.

Nice hotel, but..
Joe Aug 11, 2009
The people at the front desk were nice and helpful and the room was nice. It was stocked with snacks (if you feel like ... spending 5 bucks on a bag of popcorn) and drinks that we didn't use, but are there just in case. You could also go down to the lobby store to pick up drinks and snacks and other items. I didn't get a chance to check out the fitness center (which I normally do) so I can't comment on that. The two beefs that I have are the parking and the internet. They have valet parking only. When we arrived there were a bunch of cars parked out front and we had nowhere to go, but to double park in front of the building. Of course, if you need to get something out of your car later you have to get somebody to get your car for you or else have them get it out for you. It's also very expensive. There's a public parking area about half a block from the hotel. If I ever go again I'll park there. As far as the internet goes, I simply don't understand why I can get free internet at 2 star hotels like Econolodge and Motel 6, but have to pay $15 a day for internet at a 4-star hotel. Luckily, there is a Starbucks not far from the hotel. If you just need to get your email (and a cup of coffee) you can go down there and hook up to their internet.

Wonderful Urban Chic!!
TM Chris Aug 9, 2009
This posh urban hip hotel has the perfect location for those that wish to venture to the famed Yonge Street. Simply make a ... left and you are at Dundas Square and Eaton Centre!! (Eaton Centre is on Yonge Street.) To top it off, the streetcars are ready to serve you. Speaking of service, the hotel staff was fantastic in helping me discover the best way to venture to Lakeshore Blvd. for the Caribana Festival. The clerk even downloaded a map for me and shared her favorite spot for capturing the festivities!! Upon my return to the Pantages that evening, the turn down service was welcoming. This hotel even goes an extra mile in placing a semi-precious stone on the bed's pillows!! How classy!! The Pantages is a "must-stay." I plan to stay there again in October!!

When planning to ride the streetcars, make sure you count out $2.75 (cd) before boarding the bus. The driver does not carry change, and having your money ready will decrease boarding congestion.

L Aug 4, 2009
This hotel is very upscale but more affordable than comparable hotels in the area (like the Sheraton). My deluxe sweet was ... very spacious, however I would have appreciated more lighting as I typically had to turn on every lamp in the room, but this is a very minor issue. The location was wonderful, just a block from Yonge St and I had a nice partial view of downtown from my room. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Gabster Jul 29, 2009
My husband and I visited Toronto for a day and needed to find a hotel at the last minute. This hotel is centrally located, ... with a spacious clean room, friendly service staff. Even though, there was construction going on across the street and in the hotel, the noise didn't bother us that much. The only downside to our experience was not being able to find a bar or a decent place where we could get a drink after midnight.

Nice hotel
DG782 Jul 29, 2009
This hotel was located around the corner from Yonge Street, in one of the busiest areas of Toronto. This was great since ... you're in walking distance of the largest shopping mall in Toronto, the Eaton Centre Mall, without all of the noise and clamor on Yonge street. The "Superior" rooms were quite large and very relaxing. The king bed was comfortable and spacious. The lighting is very dim in the hallways, but gives the hotel a soothing touch. The Martini Bar is located right next to the lobby so you don't have to go far for entertainment. We were in walking distance of most area attractions including the CN Tower, Rogers Centre and the Hockey Hall of Fame, which were all about a mile away (.9 km on one map I saw). If you have a car, visit the Toronto zoo. It's about a half hour drive but well worth it and rather large. It is 21 pp (CDN) to get in and 8 for parking which you pay with admission to the park. I believe public transportation is available as well.

Not only was the room large and clean, but the the bathroom had a seperate jacuzzi bath and shower. The sink was the longest ... thing I had ever seen. The staff was exceptional. Not only did they make sure my requests were done in an expediant fashion, but checked to make sure everything had arrived and/or taken care of. The hotel was in the heart of Dundas Square,(their version of Times Square, the Eaton Centre, (5 floors of the best shops, resturants everywhere, and the metro 2 blocks. Yet it was around the corner from any noise or traffic. It also had the most beautiful looking staff I had ever seen.
