Most Disappointing Marriott Property
gaffordm Dec 8, 2009
The stay consisted of many inconveniences that when added all up, would not let me recommend this property. The TV remote ... control disappeared from the room from one day to the next, there was no room service menu in the room, internet access cost $15.99/day and the connection was intermitent at best (and that was through a hard line, not wireless), and the service at the hotel bar was a bit slow. On the upside, the property is in a great location - close to many restaurants in walking distance as well as the Target Center. Additionally, the valet and consierge staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Good Location For Football Fans
Muzby Dec 4, 2009
The distance from the parking ramp to the hotel was quite a way - although it was inside. We had to ask for our room to be ... cleaned on the Sunday when we returned to it about 3:30! They were quick to do it when we asked. It would have been nice if they had had a shuttle bus as we needed to go to St Paul on the Saturday night, and the Metrodome on the Sunday for the Football. There wasn't much option for dinner on the Sunday night as a lot of the places around the hotel were cloased Sundays.

Tara loves the Vikings Oct 10, 2009
I booked a suite which was overbooked so we were given a regular room. I was disappointed, but they gave us ample credit to ... make up for it. We were in town for the Vikings/Packers (go Vikings!) game and we were close to great food, shopping and the stadium. The hotel staff was wonderful, we were close to everything and we had a great time. I would stay here again and will recommend anyone staying in Minneapolis to stay as well! My only complaint was a little mildew/mold in the shower, but otherwise our room was clean and comfortable.

This may have been the finest Marriotts I have ever stayed in and I have been to 20 others throughout the United States. The ... hotel was spotless, the staff went out of it's way to make you comfortable, the location to the light rail and skywalk made it unnesesary to rent a car as the light rail takes you directly from the airport to within two blocks of the hotel. Food and restaurants were excellent. I can't even come up with even a minor complaint. 10+

Use the light rail. It will take you from the airport to downtown Minneapolis or the other direction to the Mall of America. It also runs right by the Humphrey Dome.

Excellent Location for Sports Fans
Vikes Fan Sep 29, 2009
We were in town for a Vikings game. We chose this hotel based on the central location downtown and the ease of finding ... transportation without needing a cab or a rental. The light rail was about 5 minutes away and it took us everywhere from the airport to the metrodome to the Mall of America! The room was great - we stayed on the 22nd floor and had a fantastic view of downtown. The hotel is even closer to the Target Center and the new Twins ballpark, so any professional sports fan would have no trouble getting to and from their game destination.
Traveler type: Couples
The light rail is by far the best value if you want to save money on either a rental car or cab fare. It cost only $1.75 for a 2-hour pass and it stops at the airport. For special events, you can purchase a 6-hour pass for $2.00. The downtown stations run along 5th street, if you're looking for a hotel nearby.

Great Location and Service
Silvermom Sep 12, 2009
The room was really nice with a wall of windows to see the city lights. Staff were very polite and helpful with questions we ... had about the area. Very good breakfast. We went to the Dakota Jazz club just a couple of blocks away and had a fantastic evening. Getting from the parking ramp to the hotel was the only problem we had. The walking route and elevators were not clearly marked. All in all a very good value. I would definately plan to stay there again.

Midwest Weekend Traveler Aug 31, 2009
The view from the room on the 26th floor looking south was outstanding. The room was large for city standards. The bed was ... comfy and service very prompt when a request for more towels was put in. The bathroom was small and without fan, but the glass door shower beat the usual bathtub with dark shower curtain. [...], the bartender at the hotel bar, was helpful and mixed great drinks.

Amazing Room
JT Jul 14, 2009
I love the location and style of this hotel. The lobby on the 5th floor is a welcoming and dynamic space. It was the first ... sign I would enjoy my stay. I stayed in an executive suite on the 31st floor. I recommend you try this if you can manage it, just as a treat to yourself. My room was a 2 story loft with a sleek and stylish interior. I felt like I was in Manhattan, except for the locally inspired textures and colors which conjured Native American tribes without being overtly rustic. On the contrary, this was a completely modern space with large TV's in every room, and even one for my laptop, so I could work with a second monitor. The staff were quiet and respectful. The room stayed very tidy and I never felt the cleaning crew was pressuring me to leave. Room service was lovely, and the wine selection was surprisingly good. I wished the walls were a little thicker, as my neighbors had all night parties next door. But I have come to expect this in hotels, and I just turned on my TV to fall asleep and drown out their noise. The area boasts so many shops, restaurants and clubs it's almost overwhelming. I had no shortage of activities to offset my work day, and the Minnesotan charm is unparalleled in the entire Midwest. The staff reflect this mentality, as do all of the people on the street and in the local attractions. Enjoy!

The hotel is nice- confusing skywalk system and the streets surrounding area don't seem safe after work hours- only stayed ... at this hotel because of the location in proximity to the target center- my vehicle did not fit into attached parking garage and valet parking was expensive- also rates went waaay up for this weekend because of all of the events happening in mpls/st paul
