The hotel is in a good location, just a short walk to all the action. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the beach was ... nice and decent sized. I suggest that you not order drinks while lounging around the pool. They are a bit pricey. The hotel does charge a resort fee.

I've stayed at several different properties in Key West from B&B's to Icon hotels. This was a pleasant surprise in that it ... had everything I look for in a hotel, well equipped fitness center, large pool, private ocean access beach, pool attendants for towels/refreshments, in room refrigerator, LCD TV, iPod comaptible clock radio, in-room coffee, in-room safe, hotel parking at $12/night, free Wi-Fi if you are an AT&T internet/wireless subscriber.

Staff was extremely friendly, food and drinks were pricey and they added an automatic 18% tip even if you went to the bar to ... get a drink yourself. Other than that they were very friendly and helpful. Got watch on the shuttle back to the airport, thay say it comes every hour but doesn't unless requested. They made it right immediately but it was still a very small inconvenience. Overall a very nice place to stay.

Our Honeymoon in Key West
50 something newlyweds Oct 20, 2009
Overall we had a great stay here. The room was nice, spacious, and very clean. The pool was a little on the small side but ... very clean, a nice temperature, and open 24 hours a day (we went skinny dipping one early morning after Duval St. fun). The beach was nice on land, in the water it was more rocky than sandy so bare foot wading was not a real option but I think most of Key West's beaches are that way. It was about a $10 taxi ride including tip to the Duval Strip party bars. There was scooter and bike rentals about a block from the hotel. Most of the time it was a quiet room there were a couple times the people in the room above woke us up from banging around stuff and moving chairs across the floor. Room Service was good except for food, that was extremely slow and very expensive. A couple hamburgers and cokes and a piece of chocolate cake (the cake was really good) was $80.00 Drinks at the bar were expensive too. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful. I would recommend the hotel but eat and drink somewhere else.

We picked he Reach because of the private beach, which was great. The hotel staff was very friendly and they will set up ... beach chairs with an umbrella for you. Our stay would have been excellent, if the hotel had not locked us out of our room the second day because the staff made an error when we checked it. Only a slight inconvenience, but the rest of the stay was great. On our next trip to the island we will probably stay in old town closer to Mallory Square.

I was unhappy with not having ac in the room.... the 2nd night they offered to move us around 8pm as we were on our way out ... to an event.. not cool! Also, i asked that the hidden hotel service fees be removed as we didn't have ac, nor were there any pool towels or services provided to charge for it.

Romantic low key getaway
Bella Oct 1, 2009
The Reach was a wonderful retreat and a great way to experience Key West for the first time. The location was phenomenal ... (very close to where we rented scooters to get around town) and the option to use the facilities at The Reach or The Casa Marina added options to our 5 day stay in town. In addtion to having an incredibly relaxing pool/beach area, the restarant on premise was relaxed, had friendly service, and we very much enjoyed our meal.

Overall Hotel was great, nice staff, clean room and great facilities. Only concerns were the upcharges...$20 resort fee, ... wireless internet fees, expensive parking. I certainly didn't expect all inclusive, but these items are typically not added charges. Will probably shop around a bit more next time.

Great service at front desk. Granted early check-in (5 1/2 hours early) without hassle. Pool/beachside staff great, ... especially [...] and [...]. Anything you need you get. Rooms good sized. Not in the middle of Duval so it's quiet, although the craziness is in walking distance. Resort had small private beach with Jet Skis. You can also use the beach next door at Casa Marina (sister resort). Great experience.

Nice Hotel.. But a little overpriced
tmueller77 Sep 6, 2009
It was a nice looking hotel, beds were comfortable and we had a very large balcony overlooking the beach. The doormen are ... very nice and helpful. When we arrived our rooms air conditioning had been turned off, so our room was very hot and uncomfortable. Half of the lights were burnt out in the room, which was only a problem at night. The biggest complaint we had was our room key never worked and the front desk was not helpful at all in getting it fixed. Lucky for us the doorman was there one evening and he arranged to get it fixed.

We loved the location! Blocks away from downtown and the Casa is amazing with great staff and amenities. THe web site for the ... Reach is a little misleading. Staff at the hotel (except [...] the concierge) was adequate. The breakfast buffet was overpriced and DA the server seemed more interested in CNN news on the TV than servicing us (we were the only ones there). We love the Casa and next time will stay at that resort.

We found the last night the local attractions and food to be what we were looking for while we were on our trip. THe Duvall night life was not the experience for this trip that we wanted. THe food at the marina by the Westin was mid priced, a true flare of what we were looking for. Fresh Fish and a local experience.

Barefoot Billy's was an excellent experience, right there on the Reach Beach. But our refrigerator door wouldn't stay closed, ... our bathroom door wouldn't stay open, we didn't even get maid service one day at all, and the rest until 6pm. We didn't have a coffee maker, and coffee was $4 a cup. We walked most everywhere, but a shuttle or complimentary trolley tickets would have been a nice addition to offset some of the cab expenses when we didn't want to walk the 3 miles down Duval. There wasn't anything else around, so if we didn't want to hoof it a ways, we were stuck at the hotel.
Traveler type: Friends
Since we spent most of our time on Duval, I would stay at the opposite end of the island next time. It was a good mile to any of the bars, and 2 miles to the nightlife area and shopping. For what I spent on cabs and the blisters on my feet from walking, I would have paid extra to stay on the other end of Key West.

Rooms are great, very clean, view can be nice (if ocean view) and the staff is so polite and friendly Parking is 12$ if you park yourself, which is not so high in Key West The pool and the beach are tiny but nice Excellent journey Severin
