Unbeatable location for the price

Front desk was very helpful and pleasant. The room had a front and rear entrance (ground level). The outer door would not ... open with the card key at first, and they had it fixed the next day. Not being a coffee drinker, it would be nice if hot chocolate was provided. There was tea, but my husband used the coffee pot, so I couldn't make it.

The gondola is free after 4:00, but only on Thurs, Fri and Sat. Otherwise, it's $20 a person--outrageous! Billies restaurant was 1/2 off on Tues and VERY delicious. Otherwise too pricey for us.

Pros: Our first floor room opened to an open patio/grassy area facing the mountain and river. (not much foot traffic near ... our room) Quilt-like bedding made the room feel more like a homey cabin in Vail instead of another hotel in another pretty city. Microwave, fridge, iron, humidifier, fan and corkscrew! Within walking distance to Arabelle center/Lionsquare Plaza- dining,drinks,entertainment Cons: Small bathroom and very small sink area. Could not verify a late check-out the night prior to check-out, had to talk to the maids first.

Perfect Vail location

The Lion Square Lodge is in the perfect Vail location. It's close to shops, restaurants, and a biking/walking train runs ... along a creek behind the lodge. We rented bikes at a nearby shop and had a great day exploring the area. The gondola is next to the lodge and is free after 4:00..gorgeous views!

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The interior is decorated in a beautiful lodge feel. The rooms are modern and ... lodge-like at the same time. The view from the modern pool was amazing. The staff was friendly and kept the hotel very clean. The only negative is that the exterior is decent and there is not a breakfast on-site. However, we loved this place and the location was perfect that we only drove our vehicle one time in 3 nights. We would love to go back at any season.
