Omni Hotel Riverplace - LACKLUSTER!!!

Omni River Place Hotel, ok, where do I start?!! THE HALLWAYS IN THIS PLACE LOOKS ODDLY familiar & similar to the hotel ... resort in the 1980's horror flick, "The Shining"! I was expecting the little kid to come down the halls riding his plastic bigwheel and find "REDRUM" written on my mirror!!!! BLOOD RED background carpet, Uhhh NO!! I get the attempt that it is supposed to look antiquated but GIVE ME A BREAK...then given this place a big ball on the chain-job & START OVER!!! The proximity of the elevator to the rooms - AWKWARD! For the price of the rooms and the class of clients/visitors for this hotel, why didn't THIS HOTEL ROOM HAVE, AT LEAST, a REFRIGERATOR??!?!?!? OR A MICROWAVE????! The prices of the food were too FRIGGIN EXPENSIVE to purchase! Do you REALLY think we were supposed to purchase food there? This HAS to be the only reason why you'd NEGLECT to afford patrons of this BASIC amenity!! WHY BOTHER TO HAVE Lemon accented water in the fitness room & lobby if it's going to be dirty?!?!?!? You should also offer small snacks in this fitness room in the case someone's blood sugar drops while they're working out and they need to consume it to raise it up. THE MEANS BY WHICH THE Fitness area is accessed - POOR & TOO AWKWARD!! WHY? Penthouse Suite, MY FOOT!! - Omni, GET IT TOGETHER or else "Om-NOT"!..., for the sake of $99 and up, per night, PUH-LEASE!!! The LaQuinta Inn has given themselves a new face and look & THEY ARE REALLY WORTH IT!!...& THEY HAVE a BIGGER, COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST w/at LEAST a heated whirpool!!!!

The hidden treasure is truly one to visit...if you want a romatic getaway with a beautiful view of the River this is the ... place to be. Located in of Downtown Detroit close to all the happenings in Detroit. People will say where did you go this weekend, tell them that you went to Detroit..I did and I live, love and play here.

The people at this property were amazing, friendly and a joy to be arround. The bar and restaurant was fun and the food was ... delish! The bartender and waitresses were awesome. The bed in our room was extremely comfortable. I totally enjoyed my stay. Its hidden down a weird ally way, but wow the view of the water is really pretty.

The Omni in Detroit was great we stayed just overnite but we were very comfortable and treated by very helpful and friendly ... staff.The room was clean and the bed is the most comfortable we had ever sleeped in.I would highly recomend it to anyone that is in this area.
