Enjoyable weekend

Being that we traveled in a snow strom with high winds and that our trip is usally a four hour trip that took us eight and a ... half hours. The staff at Galt House where the most pleasant and helpful each time we called to update them, so that when we arrived at five in the morning instead of around midnight, they where great and friendly, so please give the staff that worked the night a big thank you!

I had high expectations based on other reviews, but I was very disappointed in what I received for such a high price. I was ... not even given a second look when I explained the coffee maker in room not working and I burned my finger while trying to fix it. The rooms were quite cool even when I had the heat above what I would keep it in my own home. Not worth the money!

I visited Louisville to attend a concert at the Kentucky Center. I was able to park my car in the garage and not move it ... again. Restuarants and museums are within an easy walk distance. The Kentucky Center is right around the corner and practically next door. There is actually a door into the KY center from the lower level of the galt house parking garage which makes it possible to leave your room and enter the center while staying under roof in case of rain. Fun and easy stay. I'll do it again again.

We stayed in the west tower I believe (it was not the main building) and the elevators were ridiculously slow. I'm talking ... 10-15mins wait every time, by the time you get on one it was either full or soon will be. The walls are super thin you can hear the people in the next room. On the 2nd night of our stay a pipe or something had burst in the middle of the night and took them 4 hours to fix it. I understand things happen but the noise was horrible. I don't see why they couldn't have moved our floor to another, the hotel was not packed&I'm sure they had the room. Just not a nice stay.

Visiting family at holidays so didn't spend much time at hotel, but upgraded to large apt w/great river view. Walked to ... nightlife, nice selection of restaurants. Hotel piano bar beautiful & nice for a drink- went elsewhere for less expensive dinner. Hotel pricey at retail but we got a buy 2 get 1 night free, well worth it. We'd stay there again for the price. Room decor was typical hotel, older but clean & nice.

Loved the Suite format, after being with the adults all day this allowed the kids a little time away from the adults and ... there own television. The staff was very courtious and professional. The entire place was spotless inside and out.

Their room service was the best. Great food and the finest dinning without even leaving the room. Service on wooden trays mingled with the room attendants placing the dishes of food on the table. I didn't even care that I was unable to dine out with such wonderful service in the hotel itself.

The Belle of Louisville and the Spirit of Jefferson river boats are less than a quarter of a mile from the hotel. There is an elevated walkway so you do not have to cross any streets.The hotel is also connected to an inner city park where they had a huge festival going on.
