Not the best but not the worst...
Ironman fan Sep 5, 2009
I was staying at the hotel for the Ironman. This was the "host" hotel. The staff did not seem to know much about the ... event. There were no shuttles to the transition area or swim start that were a distance to walk for older/out of shape folk. It took the elevators FOREVER!!! I took the stairs to the 23rd floor and beat my travel companion by a longshot who was waiting for the elevator. The pool ran out of lounge chairs and towels. Some days it was after 4pm and we had to call to have fresh towels, etc (no maid service had been by). On the up-side there is a very nice steak house attached to the hotel. The rooms were nice and it was quiet. Nice river views. Perhaps check to make sure they are not hosting a large event the same time you want to go...

Simply Gorgeous!!!
Mama P. Aug 4, 2009
We really enjoyed staying in a suite at this hotel. Large, gorgeous space! The suites would be nice if they had a microwave ... in them. And there was not an exhaust fan for the bathrooms! The only pool was an outdoor pool that was not heated, so it was too cold for the whole family to swim in that day! The restaurants we visited while there were great! Very beautiful place to stay!!!!

Happy to have gone now Jul 7, 2009
Being crippled everyone made my stay very relaxing plus they were extremely helpful. Should I ever return to Louisville ... Kentucky I would stay at the Galt House without a doubt.

Their room service was the best. Great food and the finest dinning without even leaving the room. Service on wooden trays mingled with the room attendants placing the dishes of food on the table. I didn't even care that I was unable to dine out with such wonderful service in the hotel itself.

Great People, Great Place!
AJ Apr 23, 2009
I travel to Louisville annually. I have stayed at several different locations. I stayed at the Galt House approximatley 3 ... years ago, and have never gone anywhere else again! The staff are super friendly, and its always the same staff every year. There is very little turnover like you see at large chains. The rooms are always clean and the hotel is in excellent condition. I also reccomend the food at Rivue, on the top floor!

This was a great hotel. I had actually lost my wallet on the way to Louisville, but the hotel was very nice in letting me ... confirm my identity to them and let us use whatever options I needed in order to get money, etc. The rooms were nice, the location was awesome as it was easy to walk everywhere downtown in Louisville. I am from Chicago but found Louisville to be a fun town and the Galt House was a great hotel to be staying in.

Prewedding trip
Richard Apr 21, 2008
My husband and our freinds from Indiana met at the Galt House for the weekend to help my daughther plan her October wedding ... in Louisville. For the first time we went to the roof top bar/resturant for great evening the view was great along with the service. We had the buffalo mini burgers they are great!! Like the hotel so well we are going to recomend it to the out of town guest coming to the wedding. The rooms are great and I love the fact we can have coffee in the morning while getting ready for the day. Looking forward to our stay in October.

My review of Galt House Hotel and Suites
Michelle Mar 29, 2008
It was a huge hotel room - two or more people could've stayed there. As I was on a small business trip, it didn't warrant ... the gigantic accomodations or price. However, it was extremely convenient to the Actor's Theatre of Louisville, where I was working. Next time, though, I will look for a cheaper option a little closer.
