Hidden fees & Deposits - Beware!
SRSDebate Nov 2, 2009
While this is visually a very nice hotel, we were charged a $100 per night, PER ROOM deposit which came to $600 total. There ... are also hidden "resort fees" of $27.50 per night per room for things like the use of the pool, "complimentary" newspaper, and use of the spa facilities. My group was staying here for a debate tournament and never once used any of the facilies we were charged for, and the total of these charges were more than the room cost itself. I've stayed all over Las Vegas in the past, including Strip and Off-Strip hotels and have NEVER been charged such outrageous deposits or a "resort fee". If you're booking this hotel, beware. I certainly won't be staying there again.

The Adventure Spa offers many tours to actually experience Neveda outside of the casinos. Hiking in Red Rock Canyon is only 5 miles away. You will need a car however if you choose to do your own thing. You cannot walk there and there is no shuttle service. They offer many hiking trails which are moderate to difficult. Bring lots of water! Since I was hiking 4 bottles of water was not enough for me. Make sure you wear proper clothing. By the end, my hiking shoes were full of sand. Don't forget a hat or sunglasses. There is also a short 13 scenic drive. It's a very beautiful way to experience the desert. If you choose to do the horseback riding, then try to do get an outfit by Red Rock Canyon. They will pick you up but the drive there will be a lot shorter then if you go to Elderado Canyon. I did the horseback ride in Elderado Canyon. Since we had to pick up other people, it was about three hours of driving and only an hour and a half riding. Red Rock Canyon is less than 10 miles away and the scenery is 10x better. Robby who was our guide was great!! He does tours in both places. A true cowboy!

Great Experience
JD Sep 6, 2009
I decided to try red rock because I wanted to experience Vegas but I wanted to also do other things such as relax and ... hike. The hotel room was amazing. The bed was so comfortable that I slept for 12 hours the first night. The bathroom was clean and had everything stocked - bath salts, q-tips, scale, slippers, robes, etc. (I just stayed in a normal room with a king size bed - no extra perks). The pool and spa were amazing. I wanted to unwind. The one major complaint I had about the hotel and the pool was that it had way to many kids running around. Kids were running around by the pool out of control and splashing. Thankfully, they have smaller pools on the side that I could experience alittle more peace - but the kids were everywhere and screaming. If you have kids, then this is a great place. I couldn't sit by the pool area that I wanted to sit nor could I really relax in the hot tub because of the kids. I wanted to get away from kids and relax. I wish I knew this ahead of time. The Spa was great!! The Hot Stone massage was good but not the best. The spa is amazing. If you do not choose to do any spa treatments, then you can still exerience the spa area because it is included in your $28 daily resort fee. The spa area has its only hot tub and private pool. This was the perfect place to relax. This was my favorite part of the casino.

Good place for a family reunion
pipi Aug 16, 2009
We were there for a family reunion. The bummer was that they didn't have connecting rooms available. There was also a long ... wait at the check in counter and then we were given a key to a room that was not ready yet. they promised us a call once the room would be ready but we never received one. otherwise everything was okay, they have plenty of options to eat and entertain yourself. we never had to leave the resort once and we never felt bored there. everything is new and clean

Tom B. Jun 26, 2009
My wife and I went to Vegas for a family wedding. The hotel was at a perfect location for everything. We didn't have to deal ... with the busy strip. Don't get me wrong, the strip is fun if this is the reason for your trip. We have been to Vegas about 12 times and stayed at some really nice hotels but The Red Rock Resort was the best. Our next trip we'll be staying at the Red Rock because it is close enough to the strip and relatives to facilitate our needs.

Red Rock Visit
Kim May 27, 2009
I love staying at the Red Rock, but it seemed to be smoier than ever downstairs in the casino. It was not even that crowded ... and it was still smoky. They closed the pool at 5pm on Sunday for a concert and never opened the club that night, so those 2 things were disappointing. Paying $27 a day "facilities" charge, I think I should get my money's worth. The room was comfortable and wonderful as usual.

The hotel was beautiful and offered great restaurants and a great pool. However, this was much more of a party atmosphere ... than the relaxing, spa like environment advertised. Also, the location is terrible and the shuttle service to the airport or the strip is not helpful. You are stranded in the middle of no where with no access to shows, etc..

Elizabeth Jan 5, 2009
Red Rock is a beautiful facility. There is a full sized bowling facility, multiplex theatre and huge game room for the ... non-gambling family members. There is also a food court and some good, casual eating choices as well as terrific (particulary T-Bones and Hachi) more adult restaurants. Many locals come here, so it is not your typical strip clientele. In the summer, the pool and poolside dining are terrific. Although I didn't take advantage this time, in the past the spa has been wonderful!
