No frills expectation

As a small business owner Budget is important. Having stayed at Gaylord & DoubleTree Hotels for vacation, I knew this would ... not compare for service or amenities . Was I disapointed with this hotel- NO. I did not expect the same level of service or accomidations. Room and bathroom were clean, bed - comfortable, Carpet could be replaced. I expected a no frills 3 star hotel and I would rate it as a 3 star. The meeting I was attending took place at the DoubleTree across the street. Cost for the 2 nights would have been 4 times the price of the La Quinta.

great hotel

When I first got there, I was disappointed. I had booked a nonsmoking room and ended up getting a smoking room and the whole ... hotel was just HOT! After getting settled in, I noticed the toilet in my room was plugged up too. I called down to the front desk, ready to complain, but before I could say more than "my toilet is stopped up" the man at the front desk ([...]) offered to upgrade my room for free and apologized repeatedly for the mishap. I got upgraded to a bigger room (nonsmoking) within ten minutes. In comparison with other hotels in the same area, this hotel was much quieter. I had stayed the the Best Western previously and it was very noisy. I could hear people talking in the hallways and in the other rooms. Also, with the "do not disturb" sign up, the house cleaning staff still came in the room (with us in there!). That never happened at La Quinta. We never heard any other guests or staff, and no one bothered us. house keeping also came later in the day, so we had a chance to get up and get out of the room for the day before they came knocking. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

The second you enter the sliding doors it hits you...a wall of musty stench. This place smelled worse than a dirty sock that ... had been worn for 10 days. I didn't know what the smell was but it was horrible. On the way to your room, you will notice the floor. The elevator and hallway is covered in small particles of trash along with stains throughout. Nasty! The room was as clean as it could be. The moldy smell was very strong and you could not walk around on the carpet without shoes because it felt clammy. Be careful if you choose to brave this ordorific hotel because the toilet seats are not the most stable platforms. The shower didn't have the curved curtain rod like I am used to, but the water pressure was excellent. This is the only place you can relax and give your nose a break. I didn't dare touch the blankets...I knew the sheets had to be clean so I felt somewhat at ease. Not really though. The desk is positioned inches from the AC, so you will need a blanket to for your right shoulder if you need to sit and get some work done. This place is bad for La Quinta's reputation. I recommend a complete remodel. The carpet must be replaced!!! It is obvious that whoever is managing this place has zero attention to detail!

Horrific and Shocked !
Louis Jun 9, 2008
When I consider the number of hotels that I have stayed in my lifetime this was totally unacceptable. Never ever have I ... been so disturbed. The first nite at 2:40 A.M. man entered my room, turned on the lights and scared the ever living hell out of me to the point that I jumped out of bed like a bolt of lightning and chased this guy just so far. Came back to my room before the door closed, called downstairs to the front desk with no answer. I hung up the phone and called again to the front desk and finally the person answered and I told him what happened and told me it was him. Since when does a font desk clerk just decide to walk into someone's room without a phone call or a knock on the door....and I asked him why he was getting into my room and he responded with... I received a call from your room telling me you needed towels for the baby...hhhmmmm...I registered as the only guest. I was so shook up and scared with the abrupt entrance and this guy running down the hallway... and to think that the management never even took the time to adress the SECURITY BREACH AND AS IF THIS WAS THE ONLY INCIDENT? On Sunday evening about 6 P.M. there is this thunderous pounding on my hotel door while I am taking a shower to get ready to meet my nephews and their fiances for dinner and I find out it is one of nephews. I told him to wait downstairs in the Lobby. I find out that another front desk clerk gave out my room number...a definite security breach... The hotel General Manager never responded to my request to meet with her.I never received any type of an apology. I also know that I am not done with this ugly issue between the dirty room, cigarete burns throughout the room on the carpet area, the bathtub, the vanity sink..GOOD GAWD!! and.....I actually marked the fitted corner sheet to also know that they never changed my sheets. I am absolutely discouraged with the thought that not a sole was the least bit interested that when I presented my business card that some kind of red flag should have alerted them that they had an individual that was a serious traveler. I was down here for a Memorial Service for my twin sister who died a year ago in the Atlanta area. I needed some quiet time with myself and wanted to just enjoy the pool....What a nightmare that was....no supervision whatsoever and the front desk clerkS were so busy entertaining themselves watching TV and not even watching the security cameras. I am so bedazzled by this callous and ugly disposition...I would not even think of going to a LaQuinta just for fear of the all inclusive security breaches....way overboard.

I stayed at the La Quinta last year and had no problem staying there again on my latest trip. I also recommended the hotel ... to three other people who were meeting in Atlanta for our meeting. The staff were great with arranging the conference room. It is small and basic but more than adequet for what we needed. It seats about 8 people and has basic conference facilities.

This was a nice place to stay. Convinient due to the fact that the red lobster was next door. I was somewhat concerned about ... the wireless internet, when I got there it did not work. I did not know to disable my firewall so it was patially my fault but neither did customer support. The attendant at check in asked me if I had my firewall off. After cutting it off, everything was ok. So if feel like it was mostly my fault . Very nice place, clean, and would stay again because of the value price of the rooms.

This was a great hotel. The staff were very helpful, accomodating, willing to go the extra mile. The room was very clean ... and quiet which was what I needed after flying for a day and a half with snow delays. I also rented the conference room for the day and was well taken care of. rodney Sep 23, 2007
The staff were incredibly polite, but not particularly attendant to the deficiencies noted: Mold and mildew in the ... bathroom, the obvious odor of said mildew (and the poor attempt at covering it with a commercial deodorizer) throughout the room and the tub drain that didn't drain and left us standing in shower water halfway up ours shins. The management has subsequently been attentive and apologetic, but we're not sure how this room passed any basic inspection for availability in the first place.
