a good comfortable place to stay

/the accomodations were basic but very nice. The lobby is a bit of a turnoff because you are hit with the smell of stale ... smoke but the room was fine. The breakfast was very nice.

Hotel needs updated . rooms were musty , carpeting was rippled . Tub in first room water wouldn't go down . We've stayed at ... other La Quitas and loved them .

The La Quinta Southgate/ Detroit Inn was reasonably priced and close to local restaurants. The hotel was close to I-75 but ... you do not hear freeway traffic. The staff wss very friendly and check in and check out was a snap. The room was clean and comfortable. Food selection at the continental breakfast was somewhat limited but them items on hand were fresh.
