Nice for short stay in NYC
Tiny Traveler Nov 28, 2009
If you are staying in NYC for one night or a couple of nights, this hotel is located walking distance to Times Square, which ... is a big plus. However, do not be surprised about the very small elevators and having to wait a little longer to get into one, especially around checkout time. And trying to get to and from the room itself through stairwell/hallway doors was a little bothersome at times too. This is a decent place to stay for a short visit in NYC at an affordable price.

Times Square and many places to eat and shop were a few blocks away. So you do not necessarily need to spend money on a cab.

Great location
RDC Oct 15, 2009
The hotel was a pretty good value, considering its location. The staff were very responsive and helpful in answering ... questions. The rooms were quite small and a little dated. I particularly wanted a fitness center and found that a bit disappointing. Two treadmills (one working), a stair-stepper and a stationary bicycle crammed into a very small space in the basement with the ice machine and soda machine can hardly be called a fitness center!

Location is fabulous. Room was small, but clean and nice.Better than the prev NYC hotel we stayed in. Felt very safe-good ... security. Staff friendly and helpful, let us check in early, keep our luggage there the day we left to do some last minute sight seeing. Would definitely stay here again.

Heather Oct 2, 2009
OK for a business yuppy. I prefer a more relaxed, friendly style. Room was clean, but sparse. TV only had audio! Radio ... cut off every 20 mins. Front desk perfunctory at best. Lobby bare, no chairs, no ramp for easy access. Fine for one night. Won't go there again.

In The Middle of it All

Small'ish rooms, but if you just upgrade from the lowest one it's fine. Had a Queen bed. Only had 2 ppl in our room, worked ... out superbly. Nice bathroom, nice bed. Windows actually opened. Very close to everything crazy in Times Square area. Subway access to almost all trains very nearby as well. Friendly staff. Downsides :: 95% of the TV channels are too quiet too listen to (inhibitor chip on volume) Free Wireless access was pretty spotty, worked maybe 20% of the time.

Perfect for NYC
Rose Aug 16, 2009
Spent one night there while staying in New York City. Was a great location and a short walk from Penn Station. Was looking ... for something simple, clean and convenient. The room was wonderful and clean. Room for two with a queen sized bed. The bathroom was small but it was all we needed. The hotel was very quiet and we enjoyed it greatly. The self check in and out was very convenient also. Would definately book it again.

A little shady
Chris Aug 11, 2009
They gave me a room with a broken ac, I had to move to a new room in the middle of the night. I forget a shirt in the old ... room & went back to retrieve it early morning prior to housekeeping cleaning the room & the shirt was not there, I did get the shirt back but I thought that was strange. They held money on my credit card without telling me at check in. They did not seem to care if I was inconvenienced and I could only get a 30 minute late check out without being charged. The staff was not friendly & the integrity is questionable. I will not stay there again regardless of any lower rate being offered and I certainly would not consider paying a membership fee.

I enjoy trying different hotels in NYC. And I've learned that $$$ doesn't ensure quality. This hotel was an unbelievable ... value. Definately will book again. Will try their location at Roc. Center also. For the fitness buff: they will deliver cardio equipment to your room at no charge (as if walking the city all day and night isn't enough!!). Smaller property w/ great location and staff. Many room service choices should you wish to stay in.

Great Location, Good Value
Female Business Traveler Jul 25, 2009
My room was very small, my view was of the air conditioning unit on the building next door BUT it was clean, very nicely ... appointed, had everything I needed to work out of my room and take care of the essentials. The pillows were INCREDIBLE! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. And the location can't be beat. The only downside is that because it's an older building the noise in the hallway came right into my room. One night I had a family so it was pretty loud, the rest of the time were other business travels so very quiet.

This was a very pleasant surprise in downtown Manhattan. We booked 2 days in advance and were able to get a room for under ... $200 on a weekend night. And not just a room, this was a spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet room. Hotel staff were kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if I were ever to go back to Manhattan.

Visitor from Boston Jul 19, 2009
Easy check-in; accommodating, professional staff, extremely clean (lobby, restaurant, bathrooms, room), great price for NYC ... and perfect midtown location. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended this hotel to others. The only drawback may be the room size . . . but decor was very nice with a comfortable bed and quiet AC.

Great little Italian place nearby called Tony's D'Napoli's...don't recall the street but very close to the hotel. Family style and incredibly reasonable for NYC. Excellent food; great local restaurant.

From the hotel it is a quick ride to the Midtown Tunnel which is a fast shot to the NY airports; it is very near Times Square, a short walk to the theater district, there is dining all around, and it's only half a block off Fifth Avenue shopping.
