Great location under renovations

Heavy renovations and name changes from building, front doors etc. We and other guests had to inquire if this was indeed 601 ... N. Waters and was the Bayfront Plaza Hotel. Door said Bayfront Corpus Christi Hotel. Many areas not finished - no appologies from the clerk and TV remote that had to be changed twice (which they did). Toilet was "seated" with knees angled toward the wall making it very difficult to sit. All else ok.

The first room they gave me was hot, stinky and dirty. The bath tub was nasty. I requested another room and wound up paying ... another $46 to get an upgrade. The new room had a nice view but the air conditioner would not get cool. The hallways and elevator were dirty. I will never stay here again.

checked into hotel, went to room construction was going on?? never said that on Orbitz. paint fumes, mold nad mildew smell, ... dirty carpets. so immdiately checked out! tried to get a refund from orbitz and still ahve not gotten one! i am waiting. horrible. orbitz gave me the run around on a refund. please give the refund I did not stay there

They Had to move my Daughter three times due to roaches in room.my room was right inside the pool area and above the bar that ... had a live band playing until 3:00am.I guess the parents were at the bar and a team of kids at the pool. my grandkids even complained about the smell of mildew ages three and five if I would have had the extra money I would have left and stayed some where else but I had already been charged.I will never use Orbits again.first and last time

The parking garage was trashy. The glass door to the hotel from the parking garage was cracked. It looked like a good ... breeze would complete the job and broken glass would have been all over the floor. The interior hallways were trashy. The room was clean, and that is the best thing I can say about that. When we arrived to the room, it was very warm, not uncommon for south Texas. I immediately lowered the AC to it's coolest. After a while, (approximately 6 hrs) it had cooled off some, but not nearly enough. Let's just say we did not need any covers while we slept. The bed was comfortable, but with the heat, sleeping was not easy. The AC would have intermittent periods of shutting completely off. A period might last five seconds to five minutes. When we returned from eating supper, it sounded like the Irish Pub had moved into the center of the first floor. With the open atrium, and our room on the second floor, we had no problem hearing the music. We just couldn't hear each other talk, without raising our voices The toilet seemed like it had a mind of it's own. One time you flush and it worked, another time you flush and it would backup, almost to the rim, and then drain normal. I am six foot tall. The pipe for the showerhead came out of the wall at about the equal heighth of my shoulders. With the downward angle of pipe coming out of the wall, the highest I could get the water to spray me, without stooping over, was my abdomen. It was a perfect kid's shower, but I am no kid. When my wife showered, she said she had to stand next to the wall where the showerhead was to get wet due to lack of water pressure. Since she is only 5'2", she didn't have to stoop as low as I.

This was an excellent hotel for the price. I was attending a hair style show at the convention center. This was within ... walking distance for me. I would highly recommend it. I also enjoyed the little shops that were located in the hotel.

Would recommend to a friend!

Ok...so the hotel is a little old, and it shows it's age. But this is where you go to escape. I went for Spring break with a ... friend and we had a great view of the bay. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable of everything in town. Nicely centralized to everything you could want to do in corpus and within in waling distance to just about everything. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Would recommend to a friend!

My husband claimed that the water kept changing from hot to cold in the middle of his showers. I didn't experience that. ... The girl at the front desk was moody at times. Our stay wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst believe me I've had worse. We weny for my Cousin's wedding and the ballroom was beautiful. I believe that we would give it another try :-)

we arrived and found roaches in the bathroom and curtains. they moved us to another room were we had very loud neighbors.I ... also had my laptop and had work to do, the area which we were being interfered with by the other hotel, so i had to go downstairs in the lobby and work instead of being able to do it in the comfort of my room and missed out on family activies because of this.

when I woke up the first morning there was a'vagrant' sleeping in the lobby on the 9nth floor. 3 hours later he was still ... there. I spoke with the staff about it, they apologized and took care of it. I did not feel very safe there because of this incident, and because the chain lock was broken on the door.

Our stay at the Bayfront Plaza Hotel was great. The room had all the accomodations that we needed. This was our second stay ... there in two years and we would stay there again.

I have traveled all over the world and have stayed in dive hotels/hostels but this by far was the worst. The staff was not ... friendly, the free breakfast eggs were rubbery, only one elevator worked, the carpets smelled like pet urine, the rooms were dirty and falling apart. The shower was falling apart, drywall was crumbling into the shower, bathroom was fithly. I could probably go on and on... The best part was it was just two blocks to the marina where we strolled in the evening. It was also only a block from the cute downtown area with shops,food, and bars. There were plenty better looking hotels in the area for approximately the same price. I would not stay here again, even if it were free.

Hole in the ceiling of the bathroom, non smoking room smelled like smoke and pet urine. Complimentary continental breakfast ... was awful and did not even have cereal. i did complain at checkout, but the only thing I got was a sorry.

Very dirty and outdated

The bathroom had no towels upon checking in. The bathroom was dirty and both bathtub and sink would not drain. Had to ... shower in own dirty water. Motel staff sent maintenance who repaird problem but only lasted for one day. Overall the staff was unprofessional. The motel is dirty overall and needs remodeling and professional staff.

The Bayfront Plaza hotel was a great value. The hotel is older, so there are a few things that tell it's age. But for the ... price and location I will definitly stay again if ever go back to Corpus.

the hotel room had a strong unpleasant smell. We could hardly sleep the first day. The bathroom tub was rusty and we didn't ... even use the bathroom or the toilets cause we were not sure how clean they were

The Plaza Hotel was absolutely terrible. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone; From the begining there were problems. ... The room we were assigned to had such a strong odor of urine that we HAD to ask for another room. The second room they put us in was no better. It was dirty and had a grand veiw of an abandoned building, and the Greyhound bus station. Never again will we stay there.

You cant ask for anything better for the money. This is the my new location to stay when visiting Corpus Christi. Its close ... to pretty much everything. Beach, Aquarium, Lexington, etc.
