It was ok
K&M Oct 20, 2009
There were a few issues with the room (lights out, needed a LAN connection for our laptop) but the staff addressed them ... quickly. There is a charge for Wifi but internet is free and they will provide a cord. The bed was rather soft which caused both my husband and I to wake up with a stiff back. Don't touch anything in the mini bar unless you plan on paying for it. Even if you remove a soda and immediately put it back, you are charged for it.(???) No plastic liner for the ice bucket (ewww)

Wonderful classic hotel
Cris Jun 22, 2009
Decided to spend a little more to stay in this classically beautiful old hotel. Staff was exceptionally helpful and ... considerate. Food delicious. Rooms quiet and clean with tall ceilings. A very nice gift store was downstairs, as was a first class jewelry store: J.E.Caldwell & Co.

Hotel arranged for their valet to drive me the short distance to the train station gratis. No worries about getting there.

Nice clean hotel with very large room. Felt as though we were staying in a place that should have been more expensive for ... what got. Very nice bathroom too.

beautiful historic hotel
Pat Apr 23, 2007
The Hotel Dupont is a lovely historic hotel that has all of the amenities you could wish for. The room was huge with a ... sitting area and a sleeping area. The TV was in a cabinet that swiveled so you could view it from the sitting area or the bed. The bed linens were lovely and there were spa robes and slippers. The bathroom was huge, which is not always the case in historic hotels. It had both a soaking tub AND a glass enclosed shower; as well as ample space around the sink. Right outside of the bathroom was a dressing table with a magnifying mirror for applying makeup. The common areas, lobby and restaurant, were breathtaking and beautifully restored. Staff was gracious and accommodating. It will always be our first choice when staying in Wilmington.

A grand hotel
Susan Apr 15, 2007
The Hotel DuPont was gorgeous. It reminded us of other famous older, but renovated, hotels. The turndown feature was an ... added treat. The value for the money was excellent. We would have expected to pay much more for this class of hotel. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but that was wonderful, too.
