Say What?!
A Traveler Jan 24, 2010
Enjoyed the spa. Very relaxing, very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is beautiful, loved the tv in the mirror in the ... bathroom. I guess a lot of money was spent on renovations. Unfortunately, not on soundproofing. We were in a room that had an adjoining door. Now I've been in plenty of hotels, and you can sometimes hear muffled noises, but we could hear EVERY word that the people were saying in the other room, at 2 in the morning. They weren't loud, just talking. Don't really want to get into what they were doing at 4 a.m. Tried to get a room change but was told it was not possible.

Wonderful time in the winter wonderland

We had a lovely time at the Grand Geneva and at the waterpark. The rooms were modern and the decorations throughout the ... hotel were simply first class. As a family location for New Year's Eve I don't think it can be matched.

This was my second time staying at the resort and I loved it both times. I tried the spa the first time I came and loved it. ... This time I tried the skiing and had soooo much fun and the instructors were very helpful. I was also impressed by the renovated rooms.

We were in the area of a Jimmy Buffett concert - just a short drive from the resort to the concert venue.

While staying at this resort, you must take advantage of the delicious dining inside the hotel. Dinner at the Geneva Chophouse was excellent. We had outdoor seating with heating lamps above us and a beautiful view of a lake and firepit lounge. Also the buffet breakfast was excellent located in the lobby. The menu items were quite expensive but the groumet buffet was reasonably priced. Made to order omelets as well as everything else you may want for breakfast.

The Timberland (affiliated with the Grand Geneva) has more for children and you should stay there rather than the Grand Geneva with kids, but both hotels are great!!

Fabulous property! Staff was wonderful, rooms were pristine - lovely furnishings, big screen LDC - and you will be blown ... away by the TV in the mirror in the bath! Beds are to die for and the surrounding countryside is awesome!

Beautiful, luxurious, expensive resort.
CharMing May 26, 2009
Pros: Location is near downtown Lake Geneva. It's secluded, surrounded by it's own golf course and man-made lake. The ... entrance is beautifully structured. Complimentary valet at hotel lobby. The rooms and halls were recently renovated which I heard from a busboy cost 16billion dollars, in hopes of staying ahead of competition when economy improves. The Chophouse restaurant was supurb with heated outdoor seating and a outdoor firepit lounge area. The brunch buffet was delicious and at fair value. The double bed lakeside room was clean, beautiful and seemed to be newly carpeted and repainted/wallpapered. The bathroom large mirror had a TV with cable built inside it. With the lights off, the TV can be seen clearly. I just hope housekeeping cleans the remote controls throughly. Our room came with an empty refrigerator and luggage rack. It was a perfect romantic getaway for us. Cons: My only complaint is upon arrival my reservation from Orbitz was missing and we had to contact Orbitz to re-fax our reservation to the hotel. In addition, to stay at this luxurious hotel, it was quite expensive. Besides the regular room rate, they add an additional resort fee as well as taxes.
