Uncomfortable
Getawayer Nov 3, 2009
Quaint in an uncomfortable way, not in a romantic sense. My fiance and I stayed here for a getaway. 4 nights is way too long ... to sleep on this hotel's beds...actually 4 minutes is too long! The bed is the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on...including the cheap mattress, the flat pillows, the 10-thread count sheets, and 1980's comforter. Oh and the fitted sheet wasn't so "fitted"; every time we even sat on the bed the corners popped off. Imagine tossing and turning all night due to the cheap mattress and papery sheets, and then waking to find your skin in full contact with this mattress that hundreds of people have slept on because the sheets don't fit, instead they're bunched up in the center of the bed along with the "puppy pad" disguised as a mattress pad. I'm really not a high-maintenance person but if anything should be a priority for a hotel....it should be THE BED! Tiny bathrooms where the tile seemed to be applied and fixed by a 5 year old kid, not to mention there was no fan and the windows were locked which I'm pretty sure is a health code violation since there was black mold growing out of cracked paint on the ceiling, also the cabinet finish appears to have endured some time at sea. We noticed the other rooms on our floor and apparently we were stuck in the smallest room of the hotel [...]. The closet door couldn't open fully since the bed was in the way, we could barely get to the closet as we had to squeeze between the bed and the dresser. Actually we didn't have much circulation around the bed at all. By the way the dresser held the tv which sat beside our bed, as opposed to in front, so we just had to crank our necks around to view. The room was so STALE! We had to keep the AC window unit on (even though it was 50 degrees outside) just to counteract the dampness. Now, adding to our dismay was soiled carpets and a side chair obviously swiped from the local thrift store. And the door to housekeeping was adjacent to our room so all day and night we had what seemed to be a constant stream of staff members rummaging outside....and they liked to leave the laundry baskets and cleaning supplies in front of our room. The room was just UNCOMFORTABLE! Now, the location was great for us, we like to stroll around the neighborhood haunts and we enjoy walking to The Market which could be a hike for some people. Do not plan on parking anywhere within 2 miles unless you want to pay $20/night to the hotel or move your car every two hours on the street. The staff was friendly. The breakfast wasn't much....muffins, english muffins, and sliced bread...coffee and tea all day but we hoped that the coffee would be up to Seattle standards...it wasn't. One night they offered wine in the lobby....but it was literally in the lobby which was about 3'x 3', blocking the front desk traffic flow, and you could not take your wine to your room...again, something that should be comfortable was very uncomfortable. If the hotel just had decent beds it would be tolerable. It was a good price and location...even if you spend most of your time outside the hotel you really want/need a good night's sleep...it just doesn't provide that :(

I was in Seattle to see 2 concerts some movies and do some shopping. Just a quick 3 day excursion. I would only be sleeping ... in the room and checking my e-mail. Was pleased to see free WiFi at the Inn. I was expecting to have to go to a coffee house somewhere nearby. The monorail is a short walk away and a 2 min ride downtown. The room was pleasant and comfortable with a kitchen. Nice neighborhood.

Upon arrival at the The Inn, we circled the block SEVERAL times until a parking place came open somewhat by the hotel. When ... I spoke to the staff member on duty they were not at all helpful in regards where to park. So, I ask the staff member for a "wake-up call" at 7:30am so that I could move my car so it would not be towed - I never received that call. Luckily my car was still there in the morning and I was able to move my car to the front of The Inn at a metered space. I asked the day shift staff member if they knew of any parking areas. The answer was "No,but, our "sister" hotel might have parking, but, I don't know where that is".

I chose this hotel for relatives coming from Germany who wanted to see Seattle without renting a car. The hotel is five ... minutes from Seattle Center, the Space Needle and Monorail. The neighborhood location includes lots of cafes, restaurants and the great Metropolitan market. Lots of local color (including, unfortunately, a very obnoxious panhandler). It's a small, older (1920) hotel but very clean. If you're looking for a modern, upscale hotel, this is not the hotel for you. But, if you like quaint at a great value, give this hotel a try. We drove down from Tacoma to spend one night at the hotel with our relatives. Unfortunately, there is no parking in front of the hotel. We had to pay $20/night to park in the hotel's designated parking lot a block away. There is a shuttle available for guest use which is nice. One of the rooms we booked faced a main side street and was very noisy with traffic and people. Choose a room on the 3rd floor, it may be quieter. All in all, for the price, this hotel is a great bargain.

If the purpose of the hotel stay is just to have a place to stay overnight, the rooms are "ok." Be prepared: the rooms do not ... have air-conditioning; bathroom features, furniture and linens are outdated; not every room has a hairdryer (you have to ask for one at the front desk); the hotel advertises a wine serving on selected nights... who selects those nights and how are guests notified???
Traveler type: Family
Take a 10 minutes walk to the Space Needle and the $2 monorail ride will get you to another 10 minutes walk to the Pike Market Place. There is a "Metropolitan Market Place" grocery store nearby that has great selection of ready-to-eat dishes,..

Visiting Seattle to see Pearl Jam at the Key Arena and the Inn at Queen Anne could not be in a better location. Directly ... across from Seattle Centre, it's steps away from the venue and is surrounded by restaurants, pubs, a grocery and drug store and Easy Street Records. Staff is great, hotel is basic but has everything we need. This is our second stay here and we will be back!

The hotel was great! The location across from the City Center was convenient and was within walking distance to the Pike ... Place Market (4-5 blocks). Also, close to The Metropolatin Market, a wonderful grocery store, and many resteraunts. No elevator made lugging suitcases up and down stairs difficult but otherwise wasn't a problem. The rooms had a lot of character and are nice sized. The coplimentary breakfast was simple with coffee, juice, danishes, muffins, toast and apples but for the price of the room I was suprised that they offered the breakfast. I would reccomend this hotel to my friends and family!

Monica Radcakes Sep 8, 2009
As stated in the headline this was a very cute hotel, seems to have previously been an apartment complex. The rooms are small ... but for a couple like us we didn't really need much else. LOVED that the rooms had small kitchens with a microwave, mini fridge, and even provided a pot, pan and silverware. It was a great way to cut costs on our trip. Really nice mile and a half walk to downtown in good weather, unfortunately we had one bad day of walking in heavy rain. Might prefer to be closer to downtown next time since our main event was PAX 2009 at the convention center. Would have liked to a workout room and hot tub, and only had one problem where the staff accidentally placed our cab order for PM rather than AM. Probably not the best kid-friendly hotel but great for us since it kept it quiet with no crazy kids running around. :)

The Hotel is in a great location, they have done a great job of fixing up what was probably a scary flop houes at one time. ... The location can't be beat but the beds have seen better days. The proxcimity to the liquor store, attractions and Seattle Center was great. Washington State still controls the hard liquor and the store next door was the only one we saw on our whole trip, "aspiring alcoholic's take note". The Metro market on the corner was the coolest/best grocery store we had ever been in. The resturants and bars "note" "Sam's Sushi" were incredable, all were within a block. With some new beds this place could not be beat. We loved it. Get some new beds, PLEASE!!! You won't Regret your choice if you stay here, sleeping in Seattle is over rated anyway...
