Excellent Washington DC experience
Flyer Oct 6, 2009
The hotel location was excellent, ten minute walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro station. There were lots of restaurants and ... sandwich shops within easy walking distance. The neighborhood was safe and clean. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We saw all of the major Washington DC sites and many of the minor ones during our seven day stay. After walking many miles each day, it was really great to return to a quiet, comfortable hotel to rest up for the next day.

You could spend as much or as little as you want for dinner by walking just a few blocks. The selection was very good. If you wanted to walk a little further, Dupont Circle offered even more options and if you want to find that "memorable meal" you could walk about 1/2 hour on M Street to Georgetown for some historical restaurants and shopping.

Solid place for a tourist.
Wayfarer Aug 24, 2009
It is certainly a good place for tourists to stay. Hotel was recently updated and has a pleasant feel to it. Rooms are small ... but sufficient. A 15 min. walk to a nearest subway station could be a bit troublesome for those traveling with small kids, especially when you are coming back to the hotel, but the walk is safe and pleasant for adults. Plenty of good restaurants(turn right on M street and there is a nice small place with french name; further down M there is COSI - excellent food and inexpensive).

Solid place, great location
ERock Aug 10, 2009
Went for 2 days to visit family - the hotel is in a great location: walking distance to Georgetown and Dupont circle and a ... short walk to the Metro station. The room is very clean generally and smells really good - only issue is that the room is really small, so probably not a great spot for families, but fine for singles or even couples if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room.

Nice but not great
VideoMatt Jul 15, 2009
The staff were generally friendly. Our room was a small, but I guess that's what we paid for. The room cleaning was a little ... skimpy. The seemed to cut corners and they never left extra soaps or shampoos even after we used them for several days. My wife had to ask for a shower cap, and we were never given more than two towels in our room. Nice hotels usually charge for internet, but there's is $13 a night. There is free internet at the coffee shop in the lobby. They also don't have a pool or jacuzzi, but I should have checked for that before hand. The bed, bathroom, and tv were very nice. I was expecting a little better service and amenities for a 4 star. I was planning on spending more time at the hotel, but ended up only sleeping there.

Chic but small
GWUMom Jun 11, 2009
Recently remodeled and updated. Great location for visiting George Washington University campus. Short cab ride to National ... Mall and museums, Chinatown. Much nicer hotel than previous visits. The room we stayed in was small but chic. Only a double bed and very little walk around room for two. The bathroom had a very nice walk in shower. The mattress was fabulous. I wish I could buy one here. I wouldn't recommend the room as a double, only as a single.

Compact room
Bella Washere May 24, 2009
The room was compact, had a small table over the a/c unit and a shelf unit with a tv, safe, drawers. Very good use of space, ... but made it tough to do work at the table on my computer. Froze there! The restaurant there was fine and the location is great, near the universities, hospital and FoggyBottom metro.

Very Friendly and Helpful Staff
Sandra Nov 14, 2008
The room was very clean and comfortable. Check-in, Concierge, Housekeeping and doormen were extremely helpful and very ... knowledgeable about the area, i.e. restaurants, sightseeing tips, where to go, i.e. which we found very useful only staying four nights in Washington, DC. Feel we covered everything we wanted to see during the time there. All the monuments and tourist attractions are either walkable distances or a short taxi ride away. Would certainly refer this hotel to my friends and family.
