convienently located in walking distance to Casinos, Shopping and Restaurants. New Hot breakfast was a hit but a couple days ... the Eggs were scary cold. Clean recently updated rooms were pleasant. 3 flights of steps with ski equiptment was a hassle. I could have taken the elevator but thats for wimps.

The only good things about this place was that the bed was very comfortable and the internet worked OK. Poor lighting made it ... impossible to read and nowhere to sit comfortably. When asked about chairs were told take it or leave. This was not the Holiday Inn Express that I am used to staying at.

We had a room with two queen beds. The room was surprisingly large and well kept. Its downside was its close proximity to the ... road with a rather busy traffic throughout the night that compelled us to close the windows, which, in turn, deprived us of the good, fresh air from the outside. The breakfast was very good. Our boys also enjoyed the outdoor pool. The indoor pool, on the other side, is essentially just a little whirl pool. No exercise room. Quite surprisingly, we found dining possibilities in the area, especially at a lunch time, limited. Despite the somewhat late check-in time, the room was not ready by then. The hotel i otherwise located right in the center of the village.

The Holiday Inn Express was very comfortable and the room we had seemed very spacious. It was nice having the mini ... refrigerator, coffee maker, and table and chairs in the room. It is in a great location, close to a grocery store, coffee shops, various restaraunts, and the casinos. Which is nice since there is no onsite dining option. The only negative is the shower head. The shower head is placed very low even I at 5'7 had to duck down to rinse my hair. We would definitely stay there again.

The Holiday Inn Express in South Lake Tahoe is a super nice small motel. It is offset from the main road and is located away ... from the busy part of town...yet you can still easily walk to where 'all the action is.' We got one of their updated rooms, so it was very new and very clean, and very relaxed place to spend a whole week in. The free daily morning continental breakfast was excellent, and it never ran out. Included were fresh doughnuts, waffles, several cold cereals, hard boiled eggs, bagels, yogurt, fresh cut fruit, etc. The coffee was fresh, tasty, and bottomless. The staff here is wonderful. They are quiet and stay out of your way when you don't need them, yet they quickly and efficiently respond when you do. My wife and I would stay here again, and we highly recommend it to anyone who is traveling to this wonderfully scenic part of the country.

The shops at Heavenly are easily walked to from the Holiday Inn Express. There are all kinds of quaint and unique stores here, as well as a nice movie theater. And there is a great gondola ride located here that brings you to the tops of the mountains for a view of the entire expanse of Lake Tahoe. Definitely take the gondola ride!

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express, South Lake Tahoe. The location is within walking distance to every place you ... may want to go. I made the suggestion to several family members to stay there and, they did. What you get for the price you pay is well worth it. I liked the Continental Breakfast that is served, it's just enough to start your day. It's a very clean place and I look forward to staying there again.

This hotel was a good value. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was great! The only ... disappointment was that the pool isn't that large, however it was enough to keep our kids happy. They also keep clean towels (two sizes) stocked at the pool and have shaded areas, tables, and chaise lounges. Great location as it is across the street from Heavenly shops, gondola and lots of other activities including: movie theaters, miniture golf, specialty shops, even a grocery shop. The only thing I would've done different is had opted for a bigger room. We are a family of four and reserved a room with two queen beds with attached bath (the bathroom was large and very nice with an additional chest of drawers and full sized closet)and I would've gone with a larger room and/or a suite for a little extra space.

The Holiday Inn Express in South Lake Tahoe is overall an excellent choice to stay in while in South Tahoe. It is an ... extremely friendly, clean, and well taken care of hotel and the daily breakfast that is included in wonderful. The location of the hotel is convenient to all you care to do. You can walk to the base of Heavenly where there are many restaurants (from a bob evans type restaurant, an Applebees, to upscale restaurants), stores, shops, and the gondola to take you up the mountain. Should you decide to drive you a minutes from the base of Heavenly and 15 minutes from several other ski resorts. Your room includes a microwave and small refridgertor which is very nice for snacks and fmailies with children. Should we go to South Lake Tahoe again, this would be my 1st choice to stay.

Many restaurants with a variety of prices are a short walk from next store to maybe 5 minutes. You can also walk to the movie theater, grocery store, shopping area, and gondola to go to Heavenly's ski resort. You can also use the bus stop at the hotel to take you to ski resorts.
