Very friendly. On top of reservations. Rooms need a bit of updating as bathroom fans don't work and bedding a little rough. ... However, it is a great place to stay because of the amenities, good deals, and good service.

The Applebee's across the street and down a couple of blocks is probably not the best place to eat. Very slow service and only passable food. Check out the local places, much better. But if you do have a family and want value, drive about 3 miles to find Carrows, Denny's KFC and IHop.

Easy rider Oct 26, 2009
The hotel met our expectations in every way.The location was right in the center of all the excitement and entertainment. ... Harahs and Harveys are connected by a tunnel, we had little reason to go any where else. We walked down the strip, but everything else was dead. The rooms were vey spacious with 2 full bathrooms in each room.

Lovin' Lake Tahoe Oct 24, 2009
Got a great rate, but received a free upgrade at check in. Room was a suite on the 14th floor, view of mountains and lake, ... jacuzzi tub for two. FABULOUS !!! Really made hanging around the room a true pleasure. Loved being in the casino area, lots to do, lots of restaurants, fun location. The spa was well put together but massages just adequate, and a bit overpriced. Hiked to Emerald Bay and it was really special. Overall, a great trip and great celebration for my husband and I.

John Sep 24, 2009
It's a great hotel and location, but the person in registration was a bit less than friendly. He said--and I quote: "If you ... touch anything from the snack bar you'll be charged." My response was: "I thought you had a 10 second grace period before you can be charged?" His reply was: "it's more like 8 seconds!" I felt like I was being reprimanded for something before doing it??? Also, what if I was hungry and wanted something from the snack bar??? He made me feel like I was an opportunistic type of individual which no one has ever accused me of being before.

GREAT CHOICE
Max8 Sep 20, 2009
In comparing other hotels, this was an excellent value. The size of the room and TWO bathrooms can't be beat, centrally ... located and everyone was SO NICE. We picked a quiet time of year (9/09) so there wasn't much going on, no bands, music, etc but still enjoyable. Many choices of restaurants, gambling and relaxing views. We took several rides around the lake. Many shops around the area were closed so saved a lot of money. Would definitely pick Harrahs again.

I recommend those who like to know ski, just drive to the shopping mall and jump onto the Gondola ride up the mountain to Heavenly Ski resort. You are able to rent your skiis next to getting on the Gondola. Very convienent!!
--Latisha, USA Dec 8, 2008

--Roberto, Vallejo, CA Oct 31, 2008
Nice little shops close by. Not too many cheap Tshirt shops. We were there in the fall and the weather was perfect. In the winter the shops all sold warm, wooly clothes. The art galleries had lots of wild life pictures.

--Gary, Fort Worth Sep 11, 2008
Heavenly Village is about three blocks from the hotel. It has fine restuarants, movie house and interesting shops. Take a gondola ride there to the top of the mountain.

Sign up for player's cards at the casino and you can get some coupons for buffet or a free night, etc. We got $20 in slot play at Harrah's in Reno, which was convenient for us since it was where we were going to next!
--Chris, USA Jun 18, 2008
Has a great buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you don't want to use the wonderful restaurants in the building.
--Patricia, Dallas May 23, 2008
Taking the Heavenly gondola is a great way to see all of Lake Tahoe.
--Thomas, Chicago, IL May 4, 2008
The Gondola is about 2 avenue blocks, 3 if you count the smokey hotel casino. Ski lockers near the Gondolas are $10 per use but with kids, it was well worth it.
--Michael, Washington, DC Mar 16, 2008
There is shopping, skiing, snowboarding, movies, ice rink, dinning, gambling, and entertainment, all within a short walk.
--Elizabeth, USA Feb 20, 2008
All kinds of outdoor activities are within walking distance, including skiing, golf, biking, and hiking etc. Spectacular scenery. Can't go wrong in Tahoe!
